Jersey, I don’t know about you, but most ND fans don’t miss ALL the years in which ND is not in the title hunt, as was the case EVERY year through 1993 with a brief run in 2002 that failed miserably after a key win at FSU.
Nothing as far as championship material or a strong run for it has come out of Notre Dame since the Holtz years, so add Willingham and now Weis to Davie.
With the players intact, it is no wonder if the expectation on campus has drifted to perhaps “rebuilding year,” but traditionally at Notre Dame any season with even one loss is not a good season though sometimes a single loss came at the price of the national title to make still a good but not great season.
