The Trade Deadline Takes You Into the Night
Baseball, Cheerleaders, Video July 30th. 2009, 6:45pm
The Dodgers added George Sherill to their bullpen. There’s no end in sight to the Pirates fire sale. Cleveland’s Victor Martinez seems likely to go … somewhere (hopefully not to Boston). Ditto for San Diego slugger Adrian Gonzalez. The real catch, of course, is Toronto’s Roy Halladay, who may or may not be on the move. It’ll be fast and furious tonight, and we’ll be by the computer in case anything significant breaks. Bikini-clad cheerleaders (what else?) after the jump.
On tap for tomorrow: More on the steroid mess, hopefully an interview, and we plow forward with NFL previews featuring the newest writer to join the TBL stable. No timetable yet on the college football previews, but soon-ish.

Looks to me like the Pirates made out like a bandit on the Cubs trade, the numbers for all three guys are pretty stout considering all they gave up was a decent reliever and a guy who, like Snell, hasn’t had good stuff in years. The days of the Aramis Ramirez trade seem to be gone.
July 30th, 2009 at 6:56 PM
You know who was the 2008 version of Kevin Hart?
Sean Gallagher, look up his 2009 numbers.
July 30th, 2009 at 7:03 PM
Mole- You’ll enjoy Ascanio.
The rest of them, you can have ‘em. Hart = Gallagher, as said above. And, Harrison is probably a B potential guy.

snow bowl/tuck rule game on at 730 espn2
epic..a legend is born!
July 30th, 2009 at 7:14 PM
Adam Vinateri or the guy who stopped giving Al Davis his meds after this game?
July 30th, 2009 at 7:18 PM
SC, i read that Harrison played 2nd in college. true? if not, i don’t understand his appeal (even if he did, I’m not sure I understand his appeal). i’m kinda meh on this deal.
July 30th, 2009 at 7:25 PM
I kinda wanted to keep Sherrill, but if Bell can improve his defense and replace Mora next year, then it’s worth it. Jim Johnson might be a good pickup for some fantasy players, now that Sherrill’s worth is down the tubes.
July 30th, 2009 at 7:29 PM
Walt Coleman
July 30th, 2009 at 7:30 PM
Thanks for that advice. Broxton is my other closer. Oh the irony. I just picked up that fu-manchu closer for the Rangers, who’s got 11 in unhealthy Frank Francisco’s stead.
July 30th, 2009 at 7:31 PM
Damn. I had a side pop up. It came across the screen and scared me.
More on the steroid mess, hopefully an interview, and we plow forward with NFL previews featuring the newest writer to join the TBL stable.

Still in shock over IAN SNELL. How is he not a dorky white dude?
July 30th, 2009 at 7:45 PM
im ignorant to this blog shit but does this site make money and do any of the other writers get paid?
July 30th, 2009 at 7:46 PM
Click on the ads! Click on the ads! Click on the ads!

They get paid in Sprite

July 30th, 2009 at 7:49 PM
so if i go over to SC and just click on all the adds about a million times my check will be in the mail?
July 30th, 2009 at 7:51 PM
Actually, you don’t have to click on them (TBL is going to kill me). Payment is done on a CPM rate (cost per mille or cost per 1000). Based on traffic, you get paid for every 1000 impressions. It also varies on your CTR (click thru rate).
Standard CPM is between $15-25.
Larger sites usually get about $40 CPM because they can base their advertising on targeting. Like if someone searches for “hockey”, your ads will be hockey based.
Google AdSense does the same thing.

Until that screw job call.
But, yes, that game was very good. And the kick by Vinatieri might be the most clutch play in the history of sports.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:07 PM
Playing in that heavy snow is what made that game. Vinatieri’s kick will live in infamy.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:08 PM
Watching the snowbowl game. going to start drinking soon…
July 30th, 2009 at 8:10 PM
Ha Patriots fans were booing at the half. Best fackin fans evah!
July 30th, 2009 at 8:11 PM
It will live in disgrace?
July 30th, 2009 at 8:12 PM
Anyone read Tom Verducci’s article? He states the Sox never hid their knowledge of steroid use and “Theo considered steroid use in trade discussions, as if it were another skill, such as power or speed.”
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/tom_verducci/07/30/manny.ortiz/index.html?eref=sihpT1
July 30th, 2009 at 8:15 PM
Vinatieri’s kick will live in infamy.
It will live in disgrace?
No, he means it will be more than famous.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:16 PM
Forgot how good the Raiders team was
July 30th, 2009 at 8:16 PM
So meant to say Infamous?
July 30th, 2009 at 8:20 PM
I heard Vinatieri say that right before he ran out on the field for that kick, Dorothy Gish said to him “young man, You. Have. Got it.” Dorothy Gish, true story.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:20 PM
Infamy is the noun; infamous is the adjective. Both mean famous for being bad.
So FDR called Pearl Harbor a “day that will live in infamy.” Because it sucked. But you could also say that day is infamous.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:21 PM
damn.

July 30th, 2009 at 8:25 PM
fuckin a Twins. The Tigers and Sox don’t make a trade so they think that means it’s ok to go not improve. Fuck.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:26 PM
If you’re a Raider fan, it’s infamous.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:27 PM
thanks, I know what infamous means, but I was pointing out that Dusty Bottoms may not.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:33 PM
I believe Theo was the guy in the Mitchell report who discussed Eric Gagne’s juice habits when considering trading for him, and it was completely conversational, like nothing to bat an eye about… good stuff. To be clear, I love the one leak every 3 mos. approach they are taking with these j-wads. Let them each get slow burn, that’s provided they even mind.
Victor Martinez – I keep hearing for Bucholtz. Is he the next Darren Dreifort? Sounds kind of liking it.. Vmart is solid, but if you are going to re-build you might as do it all the way.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:34 PM
If I was the Indians I do Martinez for Bucholtz in a heartbeat. You’ve already traded Lee which means you’ve given up on next year, get the best prospects you can.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:36 PM
RAAAAAAAANDY!!!
July 30th, 2009 at 8:37 PM
If you’re a Raider fan, it’s infamous.
Right call. Stupid rule.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:43 PM
I read an interview with him where he said people are liking Randy more than his actual stand up, and that that hurts his feelings.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:45 PM
hey look its the next popular comedian who’s act will wear thin in 6 months. i cant wait for his show to come on comedcy central in 2 years when we can see the “impression of me getting my dick sucked at_______” sketch. yeah that guy is a comedic genius
July 30th, 2009 at 8:46 PM
My buddy and I talked about that yesterday. He is going to make a big splash as Randy, but always have to do it from now on. I had never heard of him until I watched a making of on “Funny People.” THe jaccuzi video is awesome.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:47 PM
Nobody thought either team was taking down the Rams though. The Greatest Show on Turf was TIGHT! Martz is a moron though and that’s why you play the games.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:48 PM
I mean, this is possibly true, but the point of Randy is to make fun of that. It’s ironic, hipster stuff. Fuck. Now I hate Randy.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:49 PM
The 2001 Superbowl was an extremely dark day in the Taguchi home.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:50 PM
it wasn’t the AFC championship game. NE had to beat the Steelers to get to the Super Bowl. Brady got knocked out of the game, Bledsoe led the winning drive.
/wanted to kill myself
July 30th, 2009 at 8:51 PM
Randy is a character dude. The guy is a character in Funny People and he is supposed to be a comic that other comics hate, even though he gets laughs.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:52 PM
Aziz made Human Giant.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:54 PM
I’m pretty sure Randy is supposed to be Dane Cook-like.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:55 PM
i wish the whole ironic hipster comedy genre would die a quick death
July 30th, 2009 at 8:56 PM
Definitely. I heard an interview with Aziz and I came away from it sure he was ripping Cook with his Randy character.
July 30th, 2009 at 8:58 PM
I think that every St. Louisian has the right to hate Boston, between the 2001 Superbowl and the 2004 World Series. That’s a lot of ass kicking and shame right there.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:03 PM
my girlfriend lives across the hall, but she’s out of town. i just ran out of bourbon, and I know she has a bottle at her place. do I put on pants and go get it?
July 30th, 2009 at 9:07 PM
@Sir – Is the other option not drinking? And why do you have to put on pants if its just a hallway? You pay rent for the right to walk around in your underpants.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:07 PM

July 30th, 2009 at 9:09 PM
I have beer CRM, but I already answered my question.
I really hate these MGD 64 product placements on Burn Notice. it sullies the experience.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:10 PM
Why would you have allowed this to happen? WC Fields kept twenty years worth of booze in his attic at all times, and I think this is an example we all should aspire to.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:11 PM
do I put on pants and go get it?
depends on the cleanliness and lack-of-hole-ness of the unmentioned but assumed underwear.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:13 PM
@TBL- I read that Ed Helms is some sort of musical genius.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:14 PM
Ok, I’m two episodes into the Wire, and I feel so fucking stupid for not having watched it before now. Also I’m pissed off at the Wire fans on this board for nudging me to start watching it right before my week of hell starts.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:20 PM
I can’t believe David Wright is so unkempt. Paul LoDuca is mortified.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:21 PM
Taguchi: I know, small sample size and all, and I don’t know nearly as much about the prospects they gave up as you. But Jesus Christ Holliday has been on fire.
Tallguy: I just watched the entire series of the Wire in like 3 weeks. Like you, I was pissed it took me so long. Fantastic show.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:28 PM
I’m enjoying this immensely, and I think this year is gonna be fun, I still don’t understand the move. It’s certainly helped several of my fantasy teams (I was one of those people who thought Holliday would bring most of his numbers with him to Oakland, not a wise move).
I didn’t LOVE the wire until season three, so you’ve got a lot of good stuff ahead of you.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:28 PM
i wish the whole ironic hipster comedy genre would die a quick deathgive mean AK47 and I’ll take every one of those fucking losers out right now
Ann Coulter and Al Sharpton are on Larry King right now. I think they might be my two least favorite people in the world
July 30th, 2009 at 9:32 PM
I hate Larry King and Al Sharpton too.

The Ransy character is a total rip on Dane Cook and the Tourgasm guys. Watch the documentary on his site. Its hysterical. The part where he puts his head on the porn dudes is amazing. “But I leave Evan Stone in there because I like him”.
Aziz’s stand up is great before the whole Randy thing. Myu friends and I have been quoting RAAAAAAAANDY for the past month. Not to mention he’s good on Human Giant too.

nice showing in hoops tonight. closed out the reg season with a win. had my best game of the season, hit 4 three’s. it was a loose game because the other team only had 2 guys and just picked up 2 randoms to play.
July 30th, 2009 at 9:53 PM
so he has an act making fun of other comedians that is more popular than any thing else he does? maybe he needs to worry less about making fun of dane cook and more on writing his own shit. i hate dane cook but i get enough snarky bull shit from the comments section here. and 90% of it is funnier than raaaaaannnnnndddyyy

I don’t care that it’s passe now or whatever, but I still enjoy watching all the skateboarding in the x-games. I grew up watching Andy Macdonald and Bob Burnquist, it’s so cool to see them still doing it and doing it well. I also enjoy the fact that Bob Burnquist is the least likely Brazilian ever.

Once you hit disk 4…powerful powerful stuff. I didn’t know television shows could be that good.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:11 PM
this is interesting. Canseco is saying the HOF already has admitted a steroid user, but won’t name him. Based on his track record, he’s probably right.
So much for the pompous writers when they find out somebody slipped by them already and they didn’t know it. Ricky?????

Pirates were on all kinds of blow back in the day when their mascot was selling it. Which I may add is possibly the funniest sports story ever. Find me an organization that had a guy throw a no hitter on acid, and had a guy in a parrot suit slinging yayo to the players. They get a pass for sucking for those two incidents.
Though coke is definitely a PED for baseball.

I think season 2 is the slowest season, it’s the one that is farthest away from the street (drug using/drug selling black people) plus by three they’ve built up enough history/backstory to the characters that its like old friends are showing up all the time.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:48 PM
I thought Season 2 got very good in episode 6 where
SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER:
Omar testified in the witness trial, and then at the end when D got killed.
/ SPOILER
From then on S2 was very good. Until then it was kind of slow though. S3 was my favorite, although seasons 4 and 5 were excellent as well.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:48 PM
Thank you, Jimmy McNulty.
I was gonna say because I’m an Orioles, Ravens, and Caps (albeit not B’More) fan, and a student at UMD. And my family is from B’More, though I’m from NJ.
I was working at my running shop a few weeks ago, when I was taking a guys name down for some shoes and he said Jimmy McNulty, and I asked him if he was kidding. I explained myself, and he had no clue what I was talking about.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:48 PM
Yeah the trial was in 85, covered drug deals back to 80. What a story that is though.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:50 PM
Yeah, the last part…wait, what were you talking about?
July 30th, 2009 at 10:50 PM
I’m not gonna lie, McNulty’s semi-disappearance in the last couple seasons was a letdown. He was hysterical in the first three seasons.
And although I enjoyed season two, I enjoyed even more when they’d come back into the Western.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:51 PM
i just love how the media is acting like PEDs were invented just a few years ago so they can say “back in the good ol’ days(70’s and mid 80’s) baseball players were pure!” when like i said i’m sure more than a few ball players dabbled in steroids in the ‘good ol’ days’ if there was media monster back then that exists today there wouldnt be any hiding

I think I’m slow because I didn’t get that one…
But yes, I’ve even received e-mails from people in my league calling me the Pirates of 2013. Contenders again! Managed to trade a Wells for a Wells (got rid of Vernon for Randy).
July 30th, 2009 at 10:54 PM
I go back and forth between The Wire and Oz. Oz is more fast paced and outside the box, but The Wire is written better.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:55 PM
I thought the “your fucked from the day you were born in inner city Baltimore” message was done very, very well in season four. Season five’s “newspaper’s are failing us” message, which of course I agree with, was pretty heavy handed though. That editor (Gus?) should have been walking on water and curing the sick.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:56 PM
got rid of Vernon for Randy
RRAAAAAAANNNDDDYYYY
July 30th, 2009 at 10:56 PM
Randy? What? The devil!
July 30th, 2009 at 10:58 PM
Also, as of now, I think LOST > the wire. That might change with the last season of lost, but as long as it ends well, I’ll still prefer LOST.
July 30th, 2009 at 10:59 PM
July 30th, 2009 at 10:59 PM
I just think having less than ten fantasy teams shows poor moral fiber. You must value your time for other things.
Oz is more a great entertainment. The Wire is art. It’s like comparing Die Hard and American Beauty (and yes I realize I’m shorting Oz, but I don’t think all that much).
July 30th, 2009 at 11:00 PM
Also The Bee Gees > Led Zeppelin.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:00 PM
Can’t wait for funny people to come out. Apatow said he loved the Randy character so much he wants to make a movie about it.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:02 PM
Omar is the best character I’ve probably seen on television. I loved him and the lawyer in season 2 and his whole vengeance for good angle. A guy that only robs drug dealers because he doesn’t agree with them ripping people off? Brilliant.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:03 PM
The bit about changing allegiances to various NL teams is a dead giveaway.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:04 PM
Just my opinion at this point. I mean, the Wire has better writing and better acting. And, of course, it’s an HBO show compared to a network show. But despite all of that, I personally am more interested in the ideas behind Lost.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:05 PM
I just hate JJ Abrams and all the people associated with him. He’s like Michael Bay, except without the badass Meatloaf videos.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:05 PM
Also The Bee Gees > Led Zeppelin.
I agree with gfunk.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:08 PM
JJ Abrams actually has very little to do with Lost. Lindelof and Cuse have been running things there pretty much from the beginning.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:08 PM
Robbie Cano… were you throwing that to Harold Baines? WTF!?
July 30th, 2009 at 11:09 PM
I still haven’t seen star trek. And other than Lost I know nothing about JJ Abrams. But like I said, personally, I prefer Lost. I mean, The Wire has a) better writing, b) better acting, and c) is more realistic (obviously).
But ultimately, it’s a cop show (albeit by far the best ever cop show, and obviously it has plenty of other stories as well). And for me, I’m just more interested in Lost. Of course, that might change after the next season (or it might not).
July 30th, 2009 at 11:09 PM
Is it a beer summit if you get hammered alone? On that note – I wish you all a good night.
/How can you sleep when you’re high on crack? Chinese riddle for you.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
just saw american movie. pretty fucking good
July 30th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
Star Trek was great and it’s first Trekkie movie I’ve ever seen.
Cloverfield on the other hand…
July 30th, 2009 at 11:10 PM
I think LOST > the wire
Also The Bee Gees > Led Zeppelin.
Nothing beats Austin Powers singing with his hand cupped over his ear for me
for me, The Wire>>>Lost (of course, saw every episode of The Wire and not one second of Lost)
July 30th, 2009 at 11:11 PM
american movie is fantastic. over the last year or so, i’ve come to love documentaries.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:13 PM
You know, that’s a fair point actually, it is different and that can make it stand out.
I’ve seen all of the original cast movies, and I liked the new one, but it wasn’t a Star Trek movie, it was just another loud action movie with lots of bright lights.
Cloverfield is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:16 PM
I loved the star trek movie.
re documentaries: I really want to see food inc.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
Wow. Yankee game just got real interesting. Top 8, 2 outs. Damon about to face Thornton. If the Sox get the out, it’s big, fat tub of shit Jenks against Tex, A-Rod and Godzilla in the 9th.
Jenks has looked awful in his last 3 outings. Not exactly what you want to face to right the ship.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
Looks like they didn’t quite catch all of the edits made to Dolan’s wiki entry.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
I can’t because I don’t to have to eat only carrots and wheat grass the rest of my life
July 30th, 2009 at 11:18 PM
yeah im with you sir. just saw king of kong recently too. another great one.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
That is one of the best movies I’ve seen in the past few years.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:20 PM
The only people I know that I have heard talk about Food Inc. are irritating Vegans who only watch shitty independent ‘films’ and listen to bands which I suspect are made up. Won’t be seeing that.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
re documentaries: I really want to see food inc.
yeah, i’ve read the books, i know what they’re going to say (i agree with it, buy a lot of my food from farmers markets). i like the human interest stories that you’ve never heard. man on wire was fucking fantastic. anvil: the story of anvil was funny, sad, it had it all.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:21 PM
King of Kong is amazing. I’ve made a bunch of people watch it and not one didn’t love it.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:22 PM
Teixeira just looked like a goddamn caveman swinging a club. What a horrible AB.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:22 PM
fuck you teixeira you piece of shit
July 30th, 2009 at 11:22 PM
yeah im with you sir. just saw king of kong recently too. another great one.
that was an awesome one too. it was a truth is stranger than fiction movie
July 30th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
Taguchi: Did you make your girl watch it? Because in my experience girls just don’t care for that movie, but any guy, even if they don’t give a shit about video games, loves it.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:24 PM
Best documentary I’ve seen: Style Wars.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:25 PM
in related news talking your girlfriend into watching a documentary about the high score in a 1980’s videogame is roughly as difficult as getting anal.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:27 PM
Taguchi: Did you make your girl watch it?
my girlfriend loves it. the weird thing is that movie came out a few years ago, and my brothers and i all saw it for the first time within a week of each other
July 30th, 2009 at 11:27 PM
touche.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:29 PM
touche.
I mean, I did it, and she liked it, but I had to get her REALLY drunk first.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:30 PM
Simmons’ newest tw33t. What a turd.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:31 PM
why does this anger you?
July 30th, 2009 at 11:35 PM
yeah gotta see man on wire
July 30th, 2009 at 11:35 PM
How did George Mitchell attempt to keep them out of the mess? He wasn’t hired until 3 years after Papi pissed in a cup with a tainted sample.
SWISHER ON A BITCH! EAT YOUR HEART OUT CHISOX!
July 30th, 2009 at 11:37 PM
Best documentaries the last few years: This Movie is not Yet Rated, No End in Sight, Grizzly Man, Religulous (obviously not for everybody), Lost in La Mancha, Wordplay, Jesus Camp, Control Room, and Encounters at the End of the World.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:37 PM
simmons was just referring to mitchell working with the red sox. think hes even part owner or something.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:39 PM
Jose Tabata just got promoted to AAA.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:39 PM
What was Lost in la Mancha about? Never heard of that one.
Jesus Camp was great/hilarious. Set about an hour from where I go to school.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:41 PM
Was Lost in la Mancha the one about Gilliam’s movie? He’s going to actually make that movie now.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:41 PM
Lost in La Mancha is a documentary about Terry Gilliam attempting to make a Don Quixote movie with Johnny Depp and literally everything that could possibly go wrong does to the point the film is never completed. You get to watch a man slowly go insane.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:42 PM
Taguchi I want you to know that I was thisclose to making an extremely distasteful joke regarding comment 173, and decided against it.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:43 PM
I thought comment 173 was a really distasteful joke.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
wordplay isnt the spelling bee one is it? watched that one in college.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
I wasn’t sure, so I left it alone.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:44 PM
This is extremely good to hear Mole. I forgot Man on Wire, though I didn’t like it as much as friends/critics did. I think it was one of those movies that got too built up for me before I saw it.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:44 PM

Best documentaries the last few years: This Movie is not Yet Rated, No
Not including Man On Wire on that list is criminal…
I also highly recommend Beethoven’s Hair.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:45 PM
Speaking of Gilliam, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus looks to be one of the weirdest movies ever. Shame Ledger’s role had to be split up, because the clips I’ve seen of him in it are sick.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:46 PM
No, Worldplay is about the crossword puzzle championships, surprisingly entertaining, they talk to Jon Stewart and Mike Mussina a lot in it.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:46 PM
I also forgot Dig!…that is the best music documentary ever. An absolute must-see.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:47 PM
What’s Beethoven’s Hair? Apparently Blockbuster doesn’t know it exists.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:48 PM
I was surprised the gallery didn’t say something in regard to that comment.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:49 PM
Beethoven’s Hair traces the unlikely journey of a lock of hair cut from Beethoven’s corpse and unravels the mystery of his tortured life and death. The film begins in modern times, when a pair of Beethoven enthusiasts purchase the hair at a Sotheby’s auction. The story then looks at the lock’s previous owners and culminates in the science that reveals Beethoven’s “medical secret”. Set to a lush score of some of Beethoven’s most glorious music, the film explores the world of forensic testing in sharp relief against the romance of 19th-century Vienna and the horrors of 20th-century Nazi Germany.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:50 PM
Sounds interesting. Immortal Beloved is one of my favorite movies.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:51 PM
Oh, Why we Fight is pretty good if you fear the military industrial complex. Dig! was excellent, I don’t think of music stuff as counting for some reason. Scorcese’s Dylan doc “No Direction Home” excellent as well. Also if you like Ken Burns “Unforgivable Blackness” was spectacular. Old boxing stuff is always interesting.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:52 PM
i was going to make a joke about her really hating video games but got distracted
July 30th, 2009 at 11:53 PM
BTW, Moleman congrats on making it thru the bar…which venue did you sit in…Carlisle?
July 30th, 2009 at 11:54 PM
OH the Rape of Europa, about the Catholic Church/Swiss banks cohoarding hundreds of millions of dollars of art during WWII in tandem with the Nazis and how they continue to do so to this day is really interesting, lots of stuff I didn’t know.
July 30th, 2009 at 11:58 PM
Yep, closest one to me. Seeing as my school’s other campus is there I guess it was appropriate.
July 31st, 2009 at 12:00 AM
Pius The Twelfth right?
July 31st, 2009 at 12:05 AM
I didn’t say stuff I retained.
Congrats on the bar as well.
July 31st, 2009 at 12:06 AM
Carlisle, PA?
July 31st, 2009 at 12:11 AM
Yep, the asshole of Pennsylvania.
July 31st, 2009 at 12:20 AM
That’s what I hear haha. Did you go to Dickinson? My dad went there, and a kid who used to be a good friend until he ratted me out and got me arrested.
July 31st, 2009 at 12:24 AM
Yeah I did, and considering my opinion of most of my classmates and the profession in general, I’m not shocked your friend did that.
What really sucked was watching the John Adams miniseries and finding out that Dickinson was a complete tool, which again, makes sense.
July 31st, 2009 at 1:15 AM
Wow, well that actually was kinda my dad’s opinion of a few people he knew post graduation that went there. Then again, he didn’t hate everybody. But I can think of at least 3 kids from my class who went there, and only 1 isn’t now concidered an epic douche.
July 31st, 2009 at 4:35 AM
HA! Jose Tabata! Fuck off, Sir.
July 31st, 2009 at 7:30 AM
Dave Parker. Amazing stuff.
