Oklahoma: Had a random discussion yesterday about who the most powerful person in Oklahoma was. We went with billionaire T. Boone Pickens, the 117th richest person in America according to Forbes (2007). But because Oklahoma State (formerly Oklahoma A&M) doesn’t hold the same cache as OU our internet friend went with Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops, the 5th highest-paid coach in the country. Stoops seems to be on track (five years from now?) to topple Bud Wilkinson and Barry Switzer as the winningest coach in OU history. He’s had some bowl game issues (only 4-5, one National title), but he’s still beloved in the Sooner State. After the Pickens-Stoops debate is done, Nos. 3 and 4 are probably Kevin Durant and Sam Presti of the Thunder. If Blake Griffin had been drafted by OKC, we might have put him No. 3.
