WAGs of the Washington Nationals
Baseball, WAG August 17th. 2009, 1:15pm
The days and nights of the unglamorous Washington Nationals WAGS: They don’t get recognized in Old Town, and they don’t pop up on blogger ‘hot wives’ lists. Might help if these women were googleable. Adam Dunn’s wife is the blond on the right; Yormarie Nieves (married to backup catcher Wil Nieves) is the brunette on the left. [Washington Post ADD: Here's one more WAG]

The WAG culture can’t be recreated in any American sport. Most athletes rate too low on the celebrity scale here to make their girlfriends celebrities. Those that are are too well managed to make their private lives public.

Disagree. If and when the right reality TV show comes along it will be a beginning of something that won’t be stopped.
Anna Benson was close. That “Real Housewives of Atlanta” show has a couple of ex-athletes wives — watch out if Bravo decides to pay a bunch of money for “Real Housewives of the NFL”.

a bit of a stretch to call Nieve’s wife a WAG. I think she’s a “wife”.

I wanted to make a joke about these chicks dating or being married to Washington Natinals losers but then I realized they’re pro baseball players and likely make far more money in a year than I will in my life. Therefore, I will hold my tongue.
