Brett Favre to Sign with Vikings Today
1-liner, NFL August 18th. 2009, 11:24amBrett Favre: We’ve got our fingers in our ears as you bombard us with Brett Favre emails. Yes, we’re aware – WCCO-TV reported that he’s on a plane to Minnesota RIGHT NOW. And we just sat through Josh Elliott interviewing a guy at WCCO-TV, and twitter is full of Favre junk, and Mort is saying that it’ll be a done deal by Friday, and somewhere, Jay Glazer puffs on a cigar. This news is like 15 minutes old, and I have already heard like three Taliban/Al qaeda jokes.

This is great news. This will go badly for Favre, and it will be entertaining every step of the way. Can we get Fran Tarkenton’s opinion on this? He already dropped several haymakers on Brett this spring. The Browns-Vikings week 1 game just got a hell of a lot more compelling.

I felt this way with the Jets, but I’m not so sure about it this time. The Vikes seem to be the perfect fit.
/assuming this is all true

Mark it. August 18th 2009. The day Childress lost his job.
Huge Viking fan, and I hate this move. This won’t end well for anyone.

TBL — I have been meaning to ask you, seeing how the blog has grown, do you still like the name you picked? Anything else you were considering you wish you would have gone with? Just wondering.

According to ESPN 11:26am:
A source close to Brett Favre said the quarterback, pending a physical, will sign a contract with the Minnesota Vikings for between $10 million to $12 million, according to ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
Jay Glazer just skull-fecked your entire Favre-under-reporting armada WWL. ESPN fails to mention “ource close to Brett Favre” is indeed – Jay Glazer.

Didnt this happen 2 months ago?

I personally think he’s worried about the all time interception record. Tony Romo got a late start, but he’s really got the knack. Brett’s looking to push that number to well past 300. It’s probably the only record he can actually keep.

Oh good. I was wondering if we’d see the same level of boyish enthusiasm, unsullied love of the game, and impish gunslinging mentality that the NFL has treated us to in years past. Now I can sleep at night.

Glazer went out of his way to say that he was not reporting that Favre was coming back. Just his “opinion.”
Anyway … 1 year, $12MM.

The Vikings start the season with @Cleveland, @Detroit and San Fran before heading into the week four game against the Pack. Chances they are 3-0 and Favre’s cock is firmly planted deep in the throat of ESPN, 100%.

browns will beat the vikes.
/no they wont
August 18th, 2009 at 11:40 AM
Favre will throw a pick-6 to Nate Clements. 1-2 going into Week 4.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:42 AM
F’ing Brett Frave. The Vick story isn’t even 3 days old and his ass is going to pull another headline grab. They guy is truly the greatest attention whore of our era.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:42 AM
lets make it 4, this is why the terrorists hate us.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:42 AM
God, that would be beautiful.
/Absolutely zero chance though, sniff, sniff.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:42 AM
I don’t think it would end any better with Sage or Tavaris.
/old enough to remember the Oakland Superbowl loss
//Ahmad Rashad was my favorite player as a kid

wally…speaking of the browns, what did you think of the brown pants/white striped sock combo? looked better than last year’s version…but still…they need to ditch em.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:46 AM
Vick is cheaper.
August 18th, 2009 at 11:51 AM
Agreed. I think they should bring back the orange pants when they wear the white jerseys.

“After visiting the Vikings for two days, I am convinced — positively convinced — that Brett Favre will soon have talks with the Vikings to return to the team and could be joining them for this season after all. If my instincts are correct, all those purple Favre jerseys will have a home on Minnesota store shelves.”
Yeah, some opinion. Also he said he would bet the farm on Favre coming back. Jay Glazer – The Most Interesting Man in The World.

A“prediction piece.”.
August 18th, 2009 at 12:37 PM
I’ll be at Vikes @ Cleveland week 1.
I’m really hoping for some INTs from Brett… but that would we mean the Browns got pressure on him which is not likely.
Not that you asked Spence, but I hate brown pants.
August 18th, 2009 at 12:58 PM
Agreed… Brown pants looked awful. They don’t fit in. If they have brown pants, they need stripes similar to the helmet or the jersey. Regardless, they are TERRIBLE.
Orange pants would be OK as a secondary. No need to screw with a classic, even if the team is terrible.

WFAN was killing Favre this morning, which is a far cry from his city hall welcome one year ago.
Dopes.

Death. Taxes. Jay Glazer. This guy is awesome. Go screw WWL.
