Did Another School Tip the NCAA or Provide Information that Triggered the Bryce Brown Investiation?
College Football, Video August 19th. 2009, 1:00pm
That’s the theory of ESPN blogger Chris Low:
The fact that this is an issue now, two weeks into preseason camp, suggests that another school likely provided the NCAA with some information warranting a trip to Knoxville. It was pretty obvious in reading between the lines of Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin’s comments on Tuesday that he feels Brown is being singled out.
Everyone saw this investigation coming a long time ago. If you buy into the “ratted out” theory, the other teams rumored to be in the mix for Brown earlier this year included LSU, Clemson, Oregon, Kansas State and Missouri. (Vols Extra)

Karma is a bitch isn’t it Kiffin?

Kiffin is a dick, but it was Fullmer who was the rat on other SEC programs while he was head coach. Still agree that Kiffin is just getting his karmic justic, but in a sense this almost feels like other SEC schools that did or nearly did feel the effects of Fullmer’s talking to NCAA investigators returning the favor to Tennessee as a whole rather than Kiffin specifically.

you all realize taht nothing is going to materialize from this, right?

Par for the course in the SEC.

Agreed 100%. I imagine there are more than a few folks in Tuscaloosa that are delighted about this situation.

Yeah, but it was Kiffin and Orgeron who convinced Janzen Jackson, an LSU verbal commitment for over a year, to wait until the day after signing day to annonce he’s going to Tennessee. That way, LSU would be forced to eat his scholarship because there was nobody left to offer.
I have no pity for him. And I hope LSU told on him.

That’s fucking awesome

if you mean Bryce Brown, I agree. I hope that self-entitled piece of shit blows out his knee and never makes a dime more than his “advisor” already got him

That’s some dirty tricks right there. I had not heard that before.

I LOVE Kiffin’s wife.
/she’s hot.

The unofficial official story? He said he needed to wait because his “mom’s flight was delayed.” Then he refused to answer any texts from LSU people on signing day. Also, before the signing, Ed Orgeron got his dad a coaching position at Miami of Ohio.
More here.

ms621: I love her more. I just love him coming in and dicking around with smug pricks like Meyer and Saban. I hate those guys.
Kiffin will probably get his ass kicked, but I hope he does well.

My forecast for Kiffin’s time at Tennessee is a rough first season before he gets his guys in place. He’ll follow it up with a couple 10 win seasons before then having an 8 win season, which will cause everyone to see his time there as a disappointment while boosters will begin calling for his head.
August 19th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
Until he becomes one of the smug pricks, right?
August 19th, 2009 at 2:19 PM
uhh, yeah. i feel SOOOO bad for LSU
August 19th, 2009 at 2:35 PM
i have absolutley no problem withh coaches ratting on others. if someone breaks a rule, and them getting caught benefits your team, why not? if you yourself have done the same thing, well, then you’re not guilty until you;re caught. it’s just another tactic in a dirty game

The school was irrelevant. It was a dick move. And then the guy comes back and cries that everybody else isn’t playing fair. I’m sorry, but kindly go fuck yourself
August 19th, 2009 at 2:48 PM
If you mean me to go fuck myself, well thats just not nice. but if you mean kiffin, sure go ahead. i really dont care about UT, but my wife loves them. Id rather have a coach that everyone in the conference hates as opposed to loves.

i think we all have a little mafia in us–you don’t rat on friends. these guys are not friends. with all the other crap that goes on and is winked at, what’s the diff?
August 19th, 2009 at 3:10 PM
Haters.
August 19th, 2009 at 3:35 PM
Blazers, I don’t tell other posters that kind of thing. Sorry–I thought I was obvious that I don’t like Kiffin.
