Courts: Thunder Collins Going to Jail, and Teddy Dupay, Too
1-liner, College Basketball, College Football, Courts, Legal August 26th. 2009, 10:00amThunder Collins and Teddy Dupay: Collins was a once-heralded running back at Nebraska who never really panned out. This week, he was found guilty of “first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault and two weapons charges.” He’ll be in jail for a long time just like another Cornhusker, Lawrence Phillips. When Collins was being taken out of the courtroom, he exploded: “Set it now. Set it now! I’m not coming back. Set it now … No justice. No justice. I’m the victim. I’m the victim here. They know I killed no one. Of course, they got the wrong guy. I’m not no snitch. I’ve got dignity. I will get another trial.” Teddy Dupay, a former sharpshooter at Florida, will be going to jail for 30 days for assaulting a woman in Park City, Utah. It seems a far too generous for someone who did something as disturbing as this. Dupay, a star in high school, went to the National Championship with the Gators as a sophomore, but never got a chance to play his senior season for gambling on college sports.
