Ben Roethlisberger’s Accuser: Just Admit Rape, Apologize, and Donate Money to a Charity
Courts, Legal, ESPN, NFL September 9th. 2009, 10:30am
Andrea McNulty’s trying to make a statement that she’s not after Ben Roethlisberger’s money. David Cornwell, the lawyer for the Steelers QB, immediately rejected the offer.
“This case is about Ms. McNulty’s contemporaneous statements and conduct that prove her allegations are false,” Cornwell said. “Against this backdrop, her proposal is bizarre. We previously offered Ms. McNulty a graceful exit. Now, we will continue to press our defenses and claims and pursue our application for sanctions.”
Does the name David Cornwell ring a bell? It should – he was a legal analyst for ESPN. He previously represented Reggie Bush (in 2008; in a bizarre twist that can be found on that link, a story about Bush seemed to be buried by ESPN at the time).
