NFL Late Games And Thomas Jones Meets Twin Birds
NFL September 13th. 2009, 4:15pm
The late games leave something to be desired. It’s the NFC West and the Giants. Woo boy. Try and contain yourselves.
Anyway, it’s football so don’t look so glum. Chin up sailor. The Giants are on in my region so I’m definitely going somewhere with the Sunday Ticket. I can’t get enough of that NFC West.
San Fran @ Arizona – I don’t remember who the 49ers’ QB is. Elvis Grbac?
Wash DC @ Giants – Surprise appearance by Plaxico Burress.
STL @ Seattle – Don’t let anyone tell you any different – this is the game of the week.
If all else fails and you’re saluting your TV like this Texans fan is greeting Thomas Jones, throw in some Pantera and see what happens.
[Thanks to Pete for the touching screengrab]

Rams fumble on the kickoff. I’m home.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:17 PM
Fox announcers just called Delhomme the “unquestioned leader” of the team. Yeah maybe by the front office because you don’t bench someone just just gave an insane contract to, but I have a feeling his teammates miiiight be throwing him under the bus soon.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:17 PM
Cannot believe Delhomme got a new contract. Fucking awful.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:18 PM
Hahahahahahaha.
Panthers have fourth and goal from the one, Eagles take out the second string and put the first string back in after calling a time out …. and Williams gets fucking STUFFED!
0-16 for the Panthers wouldn’t shock me.
/not really, but reall
September 13th, 2009 at 4:18 PM
i dont even know what to say.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:19 PM
Interception Rams in the endzone. I love the NFC West.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:19 PM

September 13th, 2009 at 4:19 PM
eagles defense: 5 sacks, 5 picks.
uh, so much for them struggling sans j johnson …
September 13th, 2009 at 4:20 PM
I’d wait to see them play a team that doesn’t have the worst QB to ever start a superbowl playing. They gave up some big passes over the middle throughout the game.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:21 PM
Had a huge day from Romo but I’m facing Brees. That’s a loss.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:22 PM
I started Delhomme and sat Brady. And I had the Lions Defense. And my kicker was Rob Bironas. And I completely left the running back spots blank. That was probably the worst move I made, although starting Delhomme was pretty close.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:23 PM
Sharper with 2 picks. HE AIN’T WASHED UP, MOTHERFUCKERS!
September 13th, 2009 at 4:23 PM
Are you losing by 1,000 points?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:23 PM
lynch’s partner is setting lynch up nicely with stuff to talk about
September 13th, 2009 at 4:24 PM
Stokley catch. Only got the slow mo replay.

September 13th, 2009 at 4:24 PM
This Jimmy Football shit would never have happened if it wasn’t for the Belgians.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:25 PM
For every touchdown Drew Brees threw today, Jake Delhomme was given 3.3 million guaranteed.
This is never going to get old for me.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:25 PM
I started Delhomme and sat Brady.
Luis Guzman would not have made this decision.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:26 PM
If the Saints put up another touchdown, I’m golden.
Wow… dislocated elbow for Giants 3rd down back.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:26 PM
london fletcher absolutely pulverized brandon jacobs. it was enough to make ‘jacked up’
September 13th, 2009 at 4:27 PM
Mike Bell over 130 today. And Bush still averaging 0.4 a carry against the same defense.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:27 PM
mole, where does this panthers hatred come from?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:28 PM
ha – on his next carry, Jacobs sorta run over Fletcher.
it’s the only 4 pm game ive got. bummer.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:28 PM
I’m sitting here hoping that Sean Payton tells Drew Brees to throw it deep one more time — to tie the NFL record!
September 13th, 2009 at 4:28 PM
Saints in the Red Zone. They wouldn’t do it, right?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:28 PM
Moving to Charlotte the first year the inaugural year and not being a Panther fan because I had heard of the NFL before then.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:29 PM
Wow I butchered that sentence.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:29 PM
it’s the only 4 pm game ive got. bummer.
the other two are putrid anyway. There’s golf and tennis to flip to, although both of those should be walkovers.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:29 PM
Hell, Bush almost made it a moot point. He had his first nice run of the day. First and goal. 7 can be had.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:30 PM
Portis giving me some points on his first run.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:31 PM
El no!
September 13th, 2009 at 4:31 PM
what is tom arnold getting payed for being the worst spokesperson of all time? free direct tv with all the sports packages, ppvs and free porn for life? they had no one else who could play an asshole? i can play an asshole abd they would have only had to pay me free porn
September 13th, 2009 at 4:32 PM
Bush scores to set the single-game Saints scoring record…and it’s called back for holding.
Wow… dislocated elbow for Giants 3rd down back.
Not Bradshaw (I hope)
September 13th, 2009 at 4:32 PM
nice series, Redskins.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:33 PM
I swear if Brees throws a touchdown pass, I might cause physical harms to random humans on the street.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:33 PM
I said this earlier.
It depresses me that Tom Arnold, Erik Estrada, and Carrot Top can still make money.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:33 PM
Westbrook blows the touchback.
Danny Ware. Never heard of him.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:33 PM
And Richie Incognito gets his first stupid being a dick penalty.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:33 PM
@Jay – Danny Ware. That’s who hurt his elbow.
Please Saints… gimme that TD or even a Carney FG!
September 13th, 2009 at 4:34 PM
Brees doesn’t get 7. The Saints don’t get the single-game scoring record.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:34 PM
yet Yackoff Smirnoff is so drunk he can’t buy brandy.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:34 PM
Dammit! Run, run, run, run, end of game.
Should have gone for the record, Sean.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:35 PM
Brandon Jacobs is not a receiving back, example 1.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:36 PM
Did anybody see Wolverine? How shitty was it?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:36 PM
Are you getting any “Brees doing it in honor of his mother” scribes from the announcers?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:37 PM
TST – You don’t want to know how shitty this movie was.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:37 PM
Worse than Spiderman 3. Probably the worst superhero movie I’ve ever seen.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:38 PM
Redskins imploding and it’s the first quarter.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:38 PM
I’m gonna love Blackjack Lanza’s kid.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:38 PM
seriously? because he wasn’t even on speaking terms with his mom when she died. doesnt mean he didnt love her but come the fuck on. the seahawks-rams game is trying to win the worst played game of football in the history of ever
September 13th, 2009 at 4:39 PM
Did you see the early nineties Captain America?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:40 PM
Sadly yes. My statement stands.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:41 PM
There was no redeeming quality to “Wolverine”. Even Ryan Reynolds was subdued.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:41 PM
I’m afraid. Literally the only reason I want to see it at all is Tim Riggins plays Gambit, and I’m sure the accent is hilarious.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:41 PM
What was the movie with Hasselhoff? Nick Fury? Or he played Nick Fury or something? That one’s up there.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:42 PM
wait till hancock 2 comes out
September 13th, 2009 at 4:42 PM
First Hulk
/end of discussion
I’m glad opening week is almost over. I’m burnt out on Adrian Peterson’s pecs.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:42 PM
Pretty much every Gambit scene was in the trailer. I think he has four lines.
Wolverine and Sabretooth are not brothers goddamnit. Marvel movies suck because Marvel comics suck.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:42 PM
I was trying to be tongue in cheek about it and relating it to Favre. Forgot the sarcasm tag. Of course, he couldnt have hated her THAT much, i bet.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:43 PM
I’m not.
/Yelzik
September 13th, 2009 at 4:43 PM
I haven’t eaten yet today and don’t really have anything in the house. I’ve been debating what to get for an hour at least.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:43 PM
Just turned to ESPNews at the end of the first quarter b/c I haven’t seen the Denver TD yet. But, alas, they’re showing the Brett Favre postgame press conference live.
/I should have known better
September 13th, 2009 at 4:43 PM
you shut your goddamn mouth.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:44 PM
*with the exception of Iron Man, that movie was great. Even if dropping Howard for the sequel was despicable.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:44 PM

I liked the Ang Lee Hulk more than the Edward Norton hulk, though I admit that’s faint praise.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:44 PM
The first Spider Man was good.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:45 PM
Good LORD I forgot Fox is making a Cleveland spinoff from Family Guy. I expect it to be really racist and last one season at most. But sure, don’t buy back Futurama.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:45 PM
I had blocked out what watching the Rams felt like, not unlikea trauma victim. John Lynch just said “oh man” like this was the most embarassing thing he’d ever seen.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:45 PM
there have been 60 uhhh nay 70 turnovers or near turnovers so far in the first quarter of the rams-seahawks game.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:46 PM
I’m sure the Cleveland show will be unfunny. The ads look awful.
Andddddddddd Haynesworth is hurt.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:46 PM
First Spiderman was okay. Spiderman is kind of a fag though. The third one was seriously one of the stupidest things I’ve witnessed. I saw it in a packed theatre and laughed harder than I’ve laughed in a movie when he punched Snaggletooth. Nobody else laughed.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:47 PM
Now I really want to watch the Rams-Seahawks game ha.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:47 PM
They dumped King of the Hill for this too.
I lived in Texas for a while, and it’s sad that those people are not caricatures.

September 13th, 2009 at 4:47 PM
If the firt ten minutes of the first X-Men was in any way representative of the six hours of shit that came after it then that would be a good movie.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
I never saw the third one. Looks like I have something to rent now…
September 13th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
Plus True Blood has significantly upped my desire to fuck Anna Paquin. True blood finale tonight. What a spectacular day.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
no way! a guy gets ‘hurt’ after signing a huge contract that he didnt deserve?! what?! i refuse to believe it!
September 13th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
Whoa I thought the Giants got it.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
You think Fox gives a shit and will cancel it because of that? We’re talking about a network that refuses to show Obama speak about anything.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:48 PM
Was Haynesworth always this fat?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:49 PM
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT
September 13th, 2009 at 4:49 PM
FIGHT! FIGHT! hhaa
September 13th, 2009 at 4:49 PM
Those weren’t meant to be related.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:50 PM
Marvel movies might get better since they are doing future movies in house. So they don’t have to worry about licenses and can include anything they want from their universe.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:50 PM
Moss and Webster with a Deion-Rison reenactment.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:51 PM
Marvel will sell to Disney. And all the movies will get even worse.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:51 PM
So are the Redskins horrible?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:51 PM
Seattle with a great trick play.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:52 PM
I picked the Redskins as an upset. I feel violated.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:52 PM
Rams interception, wow. Just wow.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:53 PM
A Hakeem Nicks sighting!
September 13th, 2009 at 4:53 PM
Hakeem Nicks.

September 13th, 2009 at 4:54 PM
Early reports say McNabb out 2-4 weeks with cracked rib(s).

HAKEEM NICKS!
September 13th, 2009 at 4:56 PM
does the redskins coach looked like the gun-for-hire guy from lost (the one that killed ben’s daughter)?
September 13th, 2009 at 4:56 PM
Not so fast GSG…
1st drop by Hakeem Nicks… Well done.
September 13th, 2009 at 4:57 PM
Just saw the Stokely play. Jeeeeeeesus.
September 13th, 2009 at 5:09 PM
Anybody get the NFL Network Redzone channel ? Any good ?
