It’s so that all injury information gets disclosed publicly, and underworld types can’t pay off team employees for inside information. But, still. Go read PFT.

Why would it be about gambling? What the hell does the NFL care if gamblers don’t actually know who is injured? How many people have not wagered on a Patriots game because it’s possible Tom Brady broke his hand but the Patriots didn’t report it? And I also doubt the NFL cares if Vegas makes money or not. I’m not saying the NFL isn’t completely hypocritical in regards to Vegas and gambling and its importance to the popularity of the NFL, but I just don’t see much of a connection with the NFL demanding accurate injury reports for the sake of Vegas line makers and prospective NFL gamblers. People will bet on the games regardless, and on top of it, it leads to “Inside info” from gambling tip websites on who is injured and who isn’t, further fueling the NFL gambling fire. I just don’t see the connection.
