NFL Early Games Open Thread
Cheerleaders, NFL October 4th. 2009, 1:00pm
As I pointed out in the Pigsplosion, this is a dynamite week full of great match ups. The early highlight has to be the Patriots welcoming Joe Camel Flacco and the Bodymore, Murderland Ravens. Get comfy. Chat below.
Det @ Chi – Division rivalry! Woot!
Cincy @ Cle – Fun times in Cleveland today!
Oak @ Hou – Raiders-Oilers is always an AFC battle.
Sea @ Indy – This game should be serviceable.
Tenn @ Jax – Not so much.
NYG @ KC – I’ll tell you that Matt Cassel story when you’re old enough.
Bal’more @ NE – Welker ACTIVATE!
Tampa @ Wash – The reason Sunday Ticket was invented.

Salt in the fucking wound.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:03 PM
It smells like sex in here.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:04 PM
and the chiefs fumble the opening kickoff. at their own 16.
bwwwaahhhh
October 4th, 2009 at 1:04 PM
Who everyone take in the survivor pools this week? I went the safe route with Indy.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:04 PM
And Baltimore fumbles the opening kickoff
October 4th, 2009 at 1:05 PM
i took Houston Bryan
October 4th, 2009 at 1:05 PM
San Fran
October 4th, 2009 at 1:05 PM
when I put my mouse on the pic, it says “jenniebengals”. Shouldn’t it say “jennietalia?”
/Hi-yooooooooooooooooooo
October 4th, 2009 at 1:05 PM
so did the Ravens! hahahaha
But the Patriots stall on 3rd, have to kick a FG.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:05 PM
Megatron with a 55 yard catch on the first play from scrimmage against the Bears. Fuck.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:06 PM
That sucks Cass, but that loss is 100% on the Huskies.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:06 PM
I took San Fran too, Taguchi. Fucking Rams.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:06 PM
eli had an eternity to throw that. and got the 1st.
ps, im still not sold on ELi as an elite QB.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:06 PM
CRM: I want to thank you for the baseball post. I walked in there by myself and sat there like the EA stalker waiting for her to go to her room, and she never showed.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:07 PM
ps, im still not sold on ELi as an elite QB.
Maybe after the 2nd ring??
October 4th, 2009 at 1:07 PM
TD to smith. damn. i started manningham.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:07 PM
Freeney looks just fine.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:08 PM
That just means you share the opinion of everyone on Earth not named Sparty or involved with the Giants front office.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:08 PM
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiings!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:09 PM
Where’s the blog post about Washington getting three free points for getting another chance after that hilarious roughing the snapper call? Boo fucking hoo. Six minutes of clock time within the ten yard line and you couldn’t get in.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:10 PM
my QB this week, Jason Campbell, fumbled in the red zone. Tampa threw a TD pass.
7-0 Tampa. geez.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:10 PM
I agree, Sarks playcalling on the goal line was shit, but the officials giving Notre Dame 2 points and taking 4 away from the Huskies doesnt help.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:10 PM
Bears are getting absolutely raped with penalties. An offside on a field goal and a facemask on a clear clean tackle. Bears are about to give the Lions a 7-0 lead.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:11 PM
Yeah San Fran and Houston are popular ones this week too.
I got a pretty sweet lineup today: Seat @ Indy; Dall @ Denver; Jets @ Saints.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:11 PM
hey, just realized you changed your name back. That’s fickle.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:11 PM
Addai has pink cleats on.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:11 PM
If you have Kevin Smith … you’re happy. 1 yd TD run, Lions 7, Bears 0
October 4th, 2009 at 1:12 PM
You mean when they made the field goal, got the penalty and then ended up kicking another field goal which they made? That penalty had no effect on the outcome of the game.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:12 PM
sorry to tj, but in reference to the roundup this morning, go see Zombieland. The cameo alone is worth price of admission. Highly entertaining and I thought the writing was extremely well done…
October 4th, 2009 at 1:12 PM
Verlander gets through one giving up only a single. (I’m here for you JPQ)
October 4th, 2009 at 1:13 PM
Switched him back in for Mendenhall this morning when he was active. Very pleased.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:13 PM
geez, Garcon with a damn good catch. wonder if Anthony Gonzo will even get his job back
October 4th, 2009 at 1:13 PM
Fuck, I wish I’d gotten Garcon with my waiver claim.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:13 PM
Yeah certainly didn’t help. “luck” of the Irish. As a Duck there’s not many times I root hard for the Huskies, but all of us in Autzens parking lot were rooting hard. Can’t wait for the Oregon @ UW game, I’m headed up to it.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:13 PM
Oh shit you’re right. Well still, gave you another three downs from the one yard line and your hot new genius coach fucked it up.
It was bad they didn’t review that though, and if they hadn’t changed the forward progress rules (or changed the enforcement) it probably wouldn’t have been an issue.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:14 PM
You mean when they made the field goal, got the penalty and then ended up kicking another field goal which they made? That penalty had no effect on the outcome of the game.
no offense (well maybe not), but nobody cares about Washington except you, so quit whining about it
October 4th, 2009 at 1:14 PM
I’m gonna get absolutely worked in my big money league today. fuck.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:14 PM
browns block a FG! nice
October 4th, 2009 at 1:15 PM
No worries Sanders, I had to take Boller and a kicker with my supplementals
October 4th, 2009 at 1:16 PM
Donald Brown is in for Indy. 7-0 Colts
October 4th, 2009 at 1:16 PM
Donald Brown in for the score. Three straight runs inside the 10? Um…the Seahawks must really be bad.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:16 PM
Touchdown Donald Brown!
Thanks JPQ/Sanders.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:17 PM
is Eli going to look for another WR? geez, that’s 4 catches for Smith … throw to Mario!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:17 PM
sc: see, listen to Cap and I for any fantasy needs
/doesn’t give a shit
October 4th, 2009 at 1:18 PM
I’m OK with Smith catching all of them
October 4th, 2009 at 1:18 PM
rumors of forte’s demise have been greatly exaggerated
October 4th, 2009 at 1:18 PM
Eli drilled, fumbles, chiefs have it.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:19 PM
cutlercopter!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:20 PM
Anyone who is getting Browns-Bengals does Chad look ridiculously awesome?
October 4th, 2009 at 1:20 PM
CUTLER! WOW!
Helicopter shades of John Elway on the run!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:20 PM
Virginia Tech and Boise State flip-flop in the latest coaches poll.
/the slide has begun
//even though the Oregon win looks better and better
///not going to the Superdome
October 4th, 2009 at 1:20 PM
Still don’t understand how he goes 10 plays without ever once lining up 5 wide and giving the ball to Locker on a shotgun draw.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:21 PM
Bears tie it up at 7 on a Cutler dive into the end zone. pretty rad play
October 4th, 2009 at 1:21 PM
Virginia Tech jumped ahead of Boise State? WHAT?
October 4th, 2009 at 1:22 PM
Beating Duke is impressive apparently.
Auburn in!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:22 PM
Micheal Oher!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:23 PM
Duke isn’t a juggernaut, but they aren’t a pushover anymore.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:24 PM
JVille 10-0 over Tenn.
Flacco with a great pass to Mason for the TD. wonderful catch, Mason is hurt
October 4th, 2009 at 1:24 PM
How does NE give up a TD there? Dammit
October 4th, 2009 at 1:26 PM
.
Kansas and Richmond disagree. But, hey, they get paid to be the “experts” and “deciders.”
/don’t take it personally, tallguy
October 4th, 2009 at 1:27 PM
damn bengals with a nice run on 4th and 4. come on browns!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:27 PM
megatron is a beast.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:27 PM
Now I know why Seneca Wallace is a backup.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:27 PM
Yeah but come on, they played you close, that is not enough to push you up in the polls at all. Not that it would matter because if you win out you would get ahead anyway, but that is not the game to do it based on.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:29 PM
where’s Siragusa at? Beastly 16-yard run by Jacobs through the middle.
nice of the announcers to mention it to Goose
Goose: “Not as nice as Cutler’s, but it’s was nice.”
October 4th, 2009 at 1:29 PM
lovie i think it would be a good idea to double megatron. what do you think?
October 4th, 2009 at 1:30 PM
I hate this cable company. Instead of being able to watch Jets-Saints at 4 you know what I get to watch? Bullfighting. FUCKING SHOT ME.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:31 PM
great diving TD catch by Ocho Cinco
October 4th, 2009 at 1:31 PM
@moleman Oh I agree 100%, we have more talent than them at every position, we should have won by more. I am dropping VT to around 8 in my BlogPoll ballot. They have looked shitty to start, but I still think they are better than Duke under Ted Roof.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:31 PM
Ocho with a big grab – OL restrains him from jumping into the Dogpound.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:31 PM
Lions are improving, that offense looks respectable
October 4th, 2009 at 1:32 PM
lions came to play! 14-7
October 4th, 2009 at 1:33 PM
The Titans are dead, y’all.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:33 PM
Eli picked off in the redzone – not his fault though
October 4th, 2009 at 1:33 PM
Danks walks in a run, gets out of the bases loaded with no further damage. Tigers up 1-0.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:34 PM
oops! Manningham can’t make the catch, and its picked off!
that’s 2 turnovers
October 4th, 2009 at 1:34 PM
Elite Eli one fumble, one interception, one TD.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:34 PM
Blame CBS and the NFL, not the cable company.
1. They gave Fox the doubleheader this week.
2. CBS chose to feature the Patriots game at noon.
3. Nobody wants to compete with the Cowboys game at 3 p.m.. They’re America’s Team!
4. The Saints always play at home at noon. But we had to move it so that New York City could have its precious Jets/Giants doubleheader.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:35 PM
Oh come on, leave Ngata alone!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:35 PM
Playing one real team, at home for that matter, is not worthy of a NC appearance. Schedule some real games if you want in on the discussion.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:36 PM
I don’t think VT deserves to drop. They deserve to stay where they were. Just because they should have blown out Duke doesn’t negate the fact that they murdered Miami the week before.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:36 PM
Not that I don’t agree with the sentiment, but everything about this sentence is why college football fucking sucks.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:37 PM
Baltimore New England getting a little chippy.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:37 PM
It might be if Oregon beats USC.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:37 PM
Edge gets the ovation.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:38 PM
Sweet. Because everyone loves teh BoYz!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:38 PM
Ryan Raburn home run, Tigers 3-0.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:40 PM
Maybe Jason Campbell’s left handed
October 4th, 2009 at 1:40 PM
Ray Ray just celebrated what he thought was a stop on 4th down from the 2, not realizing NE was able to get a first down at the 1.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:41 PM
the bears keep shooting themselves in the foot with these dumb penalties.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:42 PM
Cincy with the defensive TD.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:42 PM
Man, I feel bad for the Browns.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:43 PM
The pussification of the NFL continues
October 4th, 2009 at 1:43 PM
Boise St scheduled 5 non-league games: Oregon, Miami(OH), @Bowling Green, UC Davis, @ Tulsa. If they are left out it’s their own fault.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:44 PM
STEVE SMITH is dominating for the Giants. 2 TD catches already. 14-3
October 4th, 2009 at 1:44 PM
earl bennett draft steal
October 4th, 2009 at 1:44 PM
I was about to say the same thing, though would’ve qualified it by saying Thad Lewis wasn’t at 100% for those 2 games. Of course, the way the rest of the ACC is looking, Duke is still got a 15% to goto a bowl game.
/UNC, Maryland, UVA, NCSU and Wake are all winable games…
October 4th, 2009 at 1:45 PM
The Browns, is there a more fitting name for a smelly organization. Fumble returned for 80 yds for Cincy
October 4th, 2009 at 1:45 PM
Steve Smith already has 17 points for me. I like Steve Smith.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:46 PM
I have Cincy – Browns and Seahawks – Colts. Good God this region sucks.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:48 PM
I may have to throw Washington onto the “take the other team no matter the points” pile. How can they be losing to this horrible Tampa team?
October 4th, 2009 at 1:48 PM
Cutler to Davis, TD
14-14 bears/lions …
October 4th, 2009 at 1:48 PM
Just an abomination that stupid unnecessary roughness call on KC.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:49 PM
texans cant score anything but field goals against the raiders. congrats on the afc south title, bsanders. probably should have said that after week 1. definitely after week 3
October 4th, 2009 at 1:49 PM
bears with a explosive iffense? color me shocked. SHOCKED!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:50 PM
In 3 plus weeks, of all the times I’ve seen shots of Mangini on the sideline, he’s never saying anything into the headphone or talking to anyone. He’s just staring at the field with his arms crossed.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:51 PM
developing … Tom Brady just went to the locker room. no word on why
October 4th, 2009 at 1:51 PM
Brady’s back on the field.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:52 PM
roethlishotdog- reminds me of crennel and that guy from the raiders. gosh im an idiot. i know his name. uhhhhhh. art shell!!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:53 PM
brady back on the sideline
October 4th, 2009 at 1:53 PM
Who hearts Pierre Garcon? This guy!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:53 PM
There ARE GODDAMN HIPPIES IN MY HOUSE GETTING READY FOR FUCKING GAY ASS FUCKING FARM AID AND THEY NEED TO GET THE FUCK OUT ON THE MOST IMPORTANT GAMBLING DAY OF MY FUCKING YEAR WITH THEIR PATCHOULI AND SHIT.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:54 PM
tommie harris with a interception!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
TD reggie wayne. 14-0 Colts.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
I have Seattle/Indy. But hey, I’m just glad they’ve stopped acting like the Texans are a “regional game” in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Plus I get THE game late.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
I picked up Fred Taylor over Garcon on waivers. Who’s an idiot? This guy.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:55 PM
Manning opens up 10-11 for 127 and a score.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:56 PM
some exciting shit going on today
October 4th, 2009 at 1:56 PM
Not the guy who picked up Austin Collie.
/I’m not that guy
//I was almost that guy
October 4th, 2009 at 1:57 PM
bsanders: seriously, are you holding your breath waiting for gonzo?
October 4th, 2009 at 1:57 PM
So the Titans are going to be 0-4 going into next Sunday night’s game? Wow…
October 4th, 2009 at 1:58 PM
a lot of saints fan here, a lot of texans fans here.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:58 PM
ballsy bears on 4th and goal: 21-14
October 4th, 2009 at 1:58 PM
or there
October 4th, 2009 at 1:58 PM
slaton has arrived!!!
October 4th, 2009 at 1:58 PM
bears score a td on fourth down. i heart jay cutler. and greg olsen. play action to the te works.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:58 PM
I’ve decided to go sit at B Dubs down here to try and catch the Jets – Saints game. The only problem is that place will probably be filled with douchebags sporting Romo jersey.
October 4th, 2009 at 1:59 PM
Yeah, but it also stands to reason that there are a lot of Peyton Manning fans here, him being from New Orleans and all.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:00 PM
Not any more. The Colts have been singing Garcon’s praises for a year now, but no one had ever seen him outside of training camp. He’s not as complete a wideout as Gonzo, but he’s money on deep routes.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:00 PM
Jason Campbell continues to try to get Zorn fired.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:00 PM
true. do you get a lot of titans games too?
October 4th, 2009 at 2:00 PM
jay cutler is the christmas gift that keeps on givin.
/the pun on where he is from is intended.golly im clever.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:00 PM
There are no BW3s in NOVA (that I know of) and it sucks. If Dallas loses you can just break their balls which is awesome.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:00 PM
“looks like matt cassel pulled about a bit too early”
hehe
Chiefs have 1 first down 21 mins into the game.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:03 PM
We got more Titans games when Steve McNair was the QB. I remember growing up all we ever got on NBC was the Oilers. But the Oilers were actually good and fun to watch.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:03 PM
steve smith already gave m 22 points against the chiefs
October 4th, 2009 at 2:03 PM
There is no reason why Tennessee should be losing to Jacksonville right now. Finnegan being out can’t be this big of a deal.
CGB I used to go to B dubs all the time for UFC, but then everyone else found out about UFC and it became unbearable, especially whenever Lesner was going to fight.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:04 PM
Sounds like yesterday’s LSU/UGA game. Except that the Giants aren’t piddling around and letting them back in the game in the second half.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:04 PM
I am playing one guy in fantasy who has Steve Smith and Megatrohnson.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:05 PM
This Browns game is an abortion. I’m so happy that ManGeNiUs is gone from the Jets.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:05 PM
im not sure i saw a home game their last season here. they were lame duck and no one wanted to show up to the games. im sure you saw more of them than i did
October 4th, 2009 at 2:06 PM
My fantasy RBs today are Ahmad Bradshaw and Jerome Harrison.
/I hate Michael Turner bye weeks
//and Felix Jones is hurt
October 4th, 2009 at 2:06 PM
Chiefs are showing every sign of being a horribly coached team.
Jim Nantz just confused Joe Flacco for a 350 pound black guy.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:06 PM
why do they call calvin johnson megatron?
October 4th, 2009 at 2:06 PM
Nantz, “That is Flacco down on the field. … … OK, no it’s not.”
October 4th, 2009 at 2:07 PM
I took Olsen in both my leagues this year and starting him every week in both even though i don’t have to start a TE. Him and Cutler are Ass buddies and its showing.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:07 PM
Jay – I played Bradshaw over Portis at my flex position in 1 league this week.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:07 PM
I think roy williams nicknamed him that. Just an ode to how dominant a receiver he is. Someone… FACT CHECK ME!!!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:07 PM
jay- whats wrong with mike bell? i know he was out last week but how many more weeks before you think hes going to play? i picked him up because i was week at rb and dropped lendale white for him, figured he would start this week and i had to pick up lendale white at the last minute this morning lol
October 4th, 2009 at 2:08 PM
@JerseyYo! is right I think roy williams started calling him that when he was a rookie
October 4th, 2009 at 2:09 PM
Why isn’t the Giants-Chiefs the second game?? Effing Cowboys! This equals last week’s level of bullshit!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:09 PM
So what if Palmer just overthrew Coles and gave the Browns their first interception? It’s on the Browns 43 and their offesne doesn’t exist. They just lost 10 yards on a flee flicker.
MANGENIUS!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
slaton!!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
Slaton 18 yd td
October 4th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
He’s out until week six, Texans.
Slayton fanally woke up this year…
October 4th, 2009 at 2:11 PM
Yeah, damn that Brady Quinn and his carefulness and his too mechanicalness. That whole franchise deserves to burn, just for hiring Mangini alone.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:13 PM
Watch the Browns is hilarious. Rob Ryan is about to strangle the entire stadium.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:14 PM
You would hate for a QB to be too careful…haha
Cribbs is the only person that actually plays for the Browns. I’m convinced of this.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:15 PM
Can the Browns as for more out of Cribbs. The guy consistently gives this team great field position and the manage to fuck it up every time. If indy had a guy like Cribbs on their team, they would put up 50 pts a game.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:15 PM
cutler just got drilled from behind (a play after fumbling). got up no problem. tough kid.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:15 PM
Eric Zeier >> Anderson/Quinn
October 4th, 2009 at 2:15 PM
Texansfan,
see Makblunt. He won’t come back until the Giants game. They’ll be overly cautious. I think he’s worth picking up. Pierre Thomas doesn’t have that many 100-yard halves in him.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:16 PM
Housh and JMJr. getting into on the sidelines. Expect JMJr. to shit all over him in the post-game presser.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:17 PM
hehe TBL. I saw what you did there.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:17 PM
WAS can’t do anything right. Johnson just gave them a pick 6 and Carlos Rogers flat dropped it.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:17 PM
They’re taking the Ravens LT off the field on a stretcher. I forgot his name already.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:19 PM
Eric “Cmon Baby Light My” Zeier >> Anderson/Quinn
/Berman
October 4th, 2009 at 2:19 PM
Countdown until Vince Young: Jags up 20-3.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:20 PM
Nice play for the Browns to Massaquoi. TDDDDDDD
October 4th, 2009 at 2:20 PM
CLE just scored!!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:20 PM
Darrius Heyward-Bey has caught a pass.
/seriously
October 4th, 2009 at 2:20 PM
jason campbell: fumble, 2 picks (nearly had a 3rd), and only down 10-0. if you started him in fantasy (like i did due to a bye week), you have negative points.
pray zorn doesnt bench him at half
October 4th, 2009 at 2:21 PM
wow. i thought the titans were a good team with bad luck. i guess they are a bad team.
also, i thought the jags were a shitty team. they might be a good team.
WHO KNOWS!@!@
October 4th, 2009 at 2:21 PM
Todd Marinovich >> Jamarcus Russell He missed the HELL out of that reciever. The Raiders have been dropping passes to few times he’s actually hit them.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:21 PM
i just got off the phone with a redskins fan. i feel bad for him
October 4th, 2009 at 2:22 PM
Housh is easily in my Top 3 least favorite NFL players.
Nevermind on the CLE TD, he may be down at the 1.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:22 PM
raiders are driving
October 4th, 2009 at 2:22 PM
He bobbled it twice, I’m not counting that.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:22 PM
Damn offensive coordinators.
/aikman’d
October 4th, 2009 at 2:23 PM
I wouldn’t.

Anybody else use CBS for fantasy? And if you do can you access it right now?
October 4th, 2009 at 2:23 PM
Now CLE has scored
October 4th, 2009 at 2:23 PM
that alone made me giggle like a school girl
October 4th, 2009 at 2:24 PM

October 4th, 2009 at 2:24 PM
ha, we have the guy on our team who ended bradys season
October 4th, 2009 at 2:24 PM
My CBS fantasy works. But I never closed my window from just after noon.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:25 PM
Shit, Cleveland! Don’t throw the dink touchdown to Heiden. Give it to Harrison. Throw me a frickin’ bone here!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:26 PM
Titans barely staying alive. barely. down 20-3, jags scored TWICE, but both came off the board.
27-3 would mean 0-4 for sure.
and my vince young prediction might come true!!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:27 PM
Reggie Wayne is stylin’ in the breast cancer gear.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:27 PM
i would say we have 2nd place in the division locked up but last week happened
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
rookie to rookie: Stafford to Pettigrew, Lions inside the 10 with less than a min left
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
fuckin two tds off the board…this game should be OVAH
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
Collins 8-13, 61 yards. Vince in the fourth?
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
what a sick pass from Manning to Collie, TD
21-3
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
At this rate, they might bring Chris Mortensen’s kid back and give him a shot.
And there’s Austin Collie
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
SEA with an inexcusable TD allowed just before the half.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
Austin Collie!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
gave sims-walker the td…wow
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
Chipotle burriot with double meat (chicken and steak) does not suck. Best thing i have ever tasted in my entire life……Everyone else throws footballs, Peyton manning plays darts, guy’s unbelieveable
October 4th, 2009 at 2:28 PM
steve smith with 27 points? wtf? i thought i was getting my ass handed to me because of byes.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:29 PM
BTW, VA Tech has leapfrogged Boise State in both polls now.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:30 PM
Ha!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:30 PM
17-20 for 220 yards and 2 TD’s, damn.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:30 PM
So this may, finally, be Eli’s breakout year?
October 4th, 2009 at 2:30 PM
i hope vince young starts next week. i’ll be gloating
October 4th, 2009 at 2:31 PM
October 4th, 2009 at 2:32 PM
Peyton tied Fran Tarkenton for 3rd all time career TD passes. 4 or 5 more years and he’ll pass Favre.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:33 PM
cougars are frauds. lost to utep. did ND win? for some reason i can nevr find their score on espn.com. its strange. i saw that michigan lost..
October 4th, 2009 at 2:33 PM
Thanks cgb.
Maybe I’m imagining things, but Eli always starts out hot. And then the weather gets cold and they start running the ball and he loses his touch.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:34 PM
October 4th, 2009 at 2:34 PM
collins threw a pick right before the half. terrible pass. jax had to eat a sack on 1st, will have :01 left to score, already up 27-3
October 4th, 2009 at 2:35 PM
vince young HAS to come in at this point
October 4th, 2009 at 2:35 PM
great pick in the end zone by a Raiders DB. snagged a fade pattern to Andre Johnson
October 4th, 2009 at 2:35 PM
Why Shaub why??? He was double covered AND you underthrew it. Bastard.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:36 PM
I for one, am ecstatic to see even a possibility of vince young…the jags gave the titans their good season last year hurting vince young in week 1…good stuff in the 1st half
October 4th, 2009 at 2:36 PM
Oh, I hope they start him next Sunday.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:37 PM
@Jay I agree, I think this year it might be different because it looks like he put in a LOT of work with his receivers in the off season. He looks more confident, he trusts the guys to run great routs and they’re building quite a synergy. It helps to have an excellent offensive line and great running game.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:37 PM
Bears and Lions tied at half. 21-21. Megatron is having an amazing day. Bears secondary being exposed.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:37 PM
He will. In all of them.
/ZING!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:39 PM
never understood the /ZING!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:39 PM

October 4th, 2009 at 2:48 PM
Vinnie Del Negro > Al Del Greco
October 4th, 2009 at 2:49 PM
Johnny Knox with a 102 yard kickoff return to start the half for the Bears!
UNTOUCHED! 28-14
October 4th, 2009 at 2:50 PM
johnny knox! 102 yard return!
October 4th, 2009 at 2:51 PM
boy, im some nascar fan. i forgot the race was on
October 4th, 2009 at 2:53 PM
Probably a bad sign for my fantasy team that hitting “Optimal Lineup” it replaces McFadden with a running back I have on a BYE.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:54 PM
turned the game on after the first quarter. i dont remember mcfadden doing anything but i guess its better than a 0
October 4th, 2009 at 2:56 PM
I’m convinced that Reggie Wayne could have a 200-catch season if Peyton Manning wanted him to.
Easy touchdown for Addai. Seattle looks hopeless.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:56 PM
Game. Over.
October 4th, 2009 at 2:57 PM
I know it’s too early but the Giants and Colts have to be the favorites for the Super Bowl right now. The Manning Bowl would be delicious.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:00 PM
Ravens would beat the colts.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:02 PM
Anderson just got picked in the end zone. God CLE sucks.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:02 PM
that should’ve been a “could”. I don’t like being definitive four weeks in haha.
Browns just picked in the endzone. BWA HA HA HA HA
Spence must be rolling in his grave.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:03 PM
They haven’t in an awfully long time, but we’ll find out later this year.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:04 PM
Okay, Fox, time to switch the Colts game. Problem is, I don’t know that I want to watch any of the other Fox games.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:05 PM
Well, we’re getting a one game playoff on Tuesday.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:05 PM
TBL…not sure if you were going to the old thread or not…here is the bet:
My offer was picking the straight up winner. If the Saints win, I get a link in the Monday morning round-up. If the Jets win, I get you a picture of me kissing a picture of Rex Ryan or Matt Sanchez.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:05 PM
collins pick…I think VY coming next drive
October 4th, 2009 at 3:05 PM
And by “Matt Sanchez” I meant “Mark Sanchez.”
October 4th, 2009 at 3:06 PM
well, as I say that the White Sox just made it 5-3 instead of 5-0 in the eigth. C’mon Ozzie Guillen.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:06 PM
Oh, and this offer has to be accepted by 3:05 p.m. CENTRAL time (4:05 p.m. TBL blog time)
October 4th, 2009 at 3:07 PM
You get this if you just email him something. Hell, he even put somethign in about Burt Blyleven being good when I sent it to him.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:08 PM
Hows that Chiefs -9 pick looking, TBL?
October 4th, 2009 at 3:09 PM
err +9 rather
October 4th, 2009 at 3:09 PM
Dusty Baker, never failing to leave a young pitcher in a meaningless game too long.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:09 PM
/easterbrook’d
//And I solidly believe this
October 4th, 2009 at 3:12 PM
Campbell just hooked you TBL. Skins are still pathetic. They should be blowing Tampa out.
Headed to the bar to watch jets-saints. Why we don’t get two 4 games is beyond me.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:13 PM
I picked Mike Sims-Walker as my fourth WR in my preseason fantasy football draft. I really did. I knew this was coming.
/and then I cut him for Devery Henderson after week 1
October 4th, 2009 at 3:14 PM
People in suits are eeeeevvvilllllll
October 4th, 2009 at 3:14 PM
Jones!! I started him in a KR points league!!!!
October 4th, 2009 at 3:16 PM
Braylon Edwards finally on the stat sheet – no catches, but a penalty for Unsportsmanlike Conduct
October 4th, 2009 at 3:18 PM

October 4th, 2009 at 3:20 PM
WTF? I wasn’t paying attention. Did TB turn the suck back on? Last time I looked, They were up 10-0.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:20 PM
I’m about to go 3-1 in my TBL FF league. Whoever KrisJenkinsatemyBaby is didn’t set there lineup, but I’ll take my pride where I can get it.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:23 PM
Looks like the Favre bowl is going to upend the one game playoff in the MLB. Twins up 7-1, Tigers lead 5-3 headed to the 9th.
Wish I would have started Earl Bennett over Braylon. THe fucking Browns blow.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:27 PM
It looks like the Browns are about to take the lead.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:28 PM
…and they do.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:28 PM
True story I almost traded Romo at the beginning of the year for Edwards/Quinn(Had McNabb at qb, too). Dude turned it down. I should send him a thank you note today…
October 4th, 2009 at 3:29 PM
Yeah, Freeney’s just fine.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:30 PM
How bad is pittsburgh considering the Browns are beating Cincy?
October 4th, 2009 at 3:30 PM
Jerome Harrison is about to get 100 yards for me in the starting lineup. I’m gonna just keep trusting my instincts and forgetting about the fantasy experts.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:32 PM
Come on, Flacco, pick this shit up.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:33 PM
Tigers win 5-3. Twins up 7-1 in the 4th
October 4th, 2009 at 3:36 PM
I should have started a backup punter instead of McFadden.
October 4th, 2009 at 3:37 PM
Somebody named Costanzo on the Browns just got flagged for unnecessary roughness.
/SERENITY NOW!

October 4th, 2009 at 3:41 PM
