giambi-stairsBy all accounts, there hasn’t been a current or former teammate who hasn’t loved playing with Jason Giambi or Matt Stairs.

It would be hard not to. Stairs is a career role player with a knack for moonshots and moonshine, and Giambi drinks two beers at a time while making no apologies for being fashionably trapped in 1988.

The two will no doubt soon join forces to win the WWE tag belts, but right now both walking kegs are focused on providing that one pivotal swing off the bench. The drama is just begging to unfold. [Never forget, Dodger fans, never forget.]

Cliff Lee Didnt Do ItToday’s starters are Ubaldo Jiménez and the always innocent looking Cliff Lee. Cliffy stumbles into this one having given up 10 runs in his last two starts, while Ubaldy is coming off a 10-strikeout, one-run performance against the Dodgers.

But let’s not kid ourselves, all we want to see is Brad Lidge take the mound in the ninth with a one-run lead.

This has been Giambi’s walk-up music for several years. Seriously:
