He was down to his last pitcher in the bullpen after that move. It was a waste, especially since the Yankees were on the road and would have to finish out the game on defense.

Robertson is the second best pitcher in the bullpen right now. Girardi should have recognized that he had good stuff last night. Big gamble bringing in someone that has looked so so in Game 2.

No way you let Rivera hit there. What would the NY Post read this morning if Rivera rolls his ankle running to first? Wasting the DH was probably a bad move, but then again, everyone watching immediately breaks into laughter if Damon has to try and throw someone out at home.

Would’ve been nice, although someone other than Jeter and A-Rod need to contribute.

@hernia, I’m not defending the move. I’m just saying that it doesn’t seem puzzling to me. There’s a lot of baseball left, maybe he didn’t want to stretch the BP? Maybe he wanted to try something different with Kendrick because he’s dominated EVERY pitcher the Yankees put out there? Maybe captain america should have picked up a hit in the 8th with runners on?

I’m not using a 2AB .500 avg as reasoning, but he obviously didn’t LOSE the Yankees the game.
