colt-mcoy-texas-longhornsGo here to see the BCS standings, the USA Today/Coaches poll, and the AP poll. Halfway through the season, there are only a handful of teams – maybe 6-10 – that are worth paying very close attention to. That group includes Boise State, Cincinnati, Iowa and TCU because they are unbeaten. There’s a massive difference in college football between the first few weeks of the season when there are many contenders and the end of October, when the lack of a playoff bracket eliminates everyone. Here’s what we had last week. Still can’t get over the last video below. How do the safeties let that happen?

Alabama
Florida
Texas

USC - The computers are idiots.
Boise State
Cincinnati - Win at previously-unbeaten USF trumps Iowa’s win over 1-loss Wisconsin.
Iowa
TCU
Miami
Georgia Tech

Oregon – Dangerous tuneup for the USC game at Washington Saturday. (Bonus: Jake Locker NFL read.)
LSU
Penn State – Boosted the Lions way up here so when they lose to Michigan, everyone can get a good laugh out of it.
Virginia Tech – Quietly out of BCS Championship mix with loss at Georgia Tech.
Oklahoma State
BYU
Notre Dame – Two losses in the final minute.
Michigan – Will be pulling for the Wolverines – who need a quality win – Saturday vs. PSU.
Ohio State
Houston
Utah

Kansas – Clearly looking ahead to Oklahoma this weekend is the reason they gagged at Colorado.
West Virginia
Pittsburgh
South Carolina
