FIFA Approved: Schalke 04 midfielder Jermaine Jones is eligible to join the U.S. Men’s National Team.  Jones, 27, holds dual German-American citizenship.  FIFA allowed him to switch federations under a new rule, because he has never played a competitive match for Germany.  Pros: He’s a stern, well-rounded defensive midfielder who could provide fortitude and fight in the U.S. midfield.  Cons: His abrasive personality could disrupt a soft American team.  He’s also uncertain, coming off a serious leg injury.
