Celtics and Cavs Get Chippy, Sign of Things to Come?
1-liner, NBA, Video October 22nd. 2009, 2:00pmBoston vs. Cleveland: Usually, anything that happens in the NBA preseason involves highlights like this. Except that last night, Boston and Cleveland nearly got into a rumble. Mo Williams was pretty much tossed to the parquet by Sheldon Williams during a box-out. Sheldon’s much bigger, so Mo hit the deck hard. He popped up gave an obvious shoulder to Sheldon – what we’d do – and then got in the face of Candace Parker’s husband … who promptly shoved Williams. Daniel Gibson was right there and stepped in with a shove. There was some jawing, and then Rasheed Wallace played peacemaker! They were fighting over who’s going to be second to Orlando in the East again. [Video of the near fight]

Mo was mad they were getting blown out
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:04 PM
Tuesday’s gonna be fun.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:05 PM
Wonder where Anthony Parker’s allegiance lies. Oh and No Show Mo is really starting to worry me. He’s a little too over-emotional and his failures in the playoffs seem to be getting to him.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:07 PM
mo williams is garbage sadly hes the best they have
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 PM
this will end up being the highlight of sheldon williams career
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:08 PM
Sick block by James though. I don’t like James too much, but god damn, do I like Rondo even less. Fucking alien.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:10 PM
yup. It’s all in his head though. The regular season last year wasn’t a fluke. He was so confident going into the postseason and pissed down his leg and lost all his confidence. He needs to quit bitching and stirring things up in the pre season and run the offense and all will be fine.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:11 PM
Yes, it’s a nice possession extender for the other team. LeBron should maybe give thought to actually keeping the ball in-bounds as opposed to succumbing to his flash-inducing proclivities.

true
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:11 PM

mo is a chucker who will take away easy baskets for lebron and shaq
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:12 PM
Agree, he’s a baller, but the “chip on the shoulder” story got real old after the first 30 written about him. Now act like you belong and get on with things already.

how do you think i feel with Dwight? kills me
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:14 PM
Better off fighting with Manute Bol’s right leg than Daniel Gibson.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 PM
Come on, TBL: the NBA doesn’t start until after the Super Bowl.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 PM
i think lebron should have let rondo make the layup. greedy stat hound. oh and did i mention he didnt make 1st team defense last year even though he did?
/cursed
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:15 PM
Sheldon Williams looks like Steve Francis is you stretched his head two feet.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:17 PM
stop it Mike
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:17 PM
Yeah Duder, I was wrong, I meant to say that Kobe got more votes from the coaches than LeBron did. While the media was pretty impressed with possession extending needless blocks out of bounds 10 rows deep.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 PM
sheldon could easily pass for the guy on star trek
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:18 PM
I could see AP stealing some of Mo’s minutes this year, especially at the end of games. Parker was always clutch for the Raptors when they had the rare opportunity to win a game. He doesn’t get caught up in the moment, makes the right play and isn’t afraid to take a big shot.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:20 PM
I swear he’s got an 8 head. His forehead consists of half his face.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:22 PM
Just watched the video. Daniel Gibson is the worst.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:23 PM
@hernia- only one good player on the Cavs
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:26 PM
agreed. he lives in the same development as my mom tho…is there anything you want me to leave on his doorstep? perhaps a hat of some kind to cover up that stale mensturation that he calls a haircut?
irish…ONLY one good player? get outta here.
cursed…please, PLEASE, do all us cavs fans a favor. just watch your precious kobe highlights, and stop watching the cavs and ripping them apaprt needlessly.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:27 PM

October 22nd, 2009 at 2:28 PM

October 22nd, 2009 at 2:29 PM
Can. Not. Wait. till. Tuesday.
/Beyond happy there are so many NBA fans on this site.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:30 PM

October 22nd, 2009 at 2:31 PM
on another completely unrelated note, the next DC comics movie being made might now be Green Lantern.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:32 PM
played hoops and baseball with his son growing up
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 PM
The best part about that block? As soon as he stole it, Lebron was setting him up from half court. Guy is f’n sick.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:33 PM
Do you know if Reghi still lives in the area? Only mistake i criticize Gilbert for.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 PM
what area. because carr used to live right by me
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:36 PM
his son is a grade A douchebag.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:37 PM

Better than any of these ESPN/TNT guys. No homerism, just Truth.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:52 PM
Saw him play at the “U” (is that what they’re calling that shitty private school now?)
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:53 PM

October 22nd, 2009 at 2:55 PM

October 22nd, 2009 at 2:57 PM
Shit, that’s right.
/Has had Sirius for 5 years.
October 22nd, 2009 at 2:58 PM
Here’s some evidence that blocks can be kept in-bounds (10 of 10 were kept in play with 8 of them leading to actual possession of the basketball..which you know..umm, is the goal when playing defense).
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:00 PM
that’s just my knee-jerk hatred for the privileged coming out. No doubt I’d be way more successful had I gone there, but then I wouldn’t be such a negative nancy on here now would I?
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:02 PM
cursed…where did you go?
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:08 PM
This one
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:09 PM

October 22nd, 2009 at 3:20 PM
Went and saw LeBron his freshman year play at he Walsh. I think that was like his 10th game ever.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:21 PM
dude they announced in July that Ryan Reynolds is playing GL, that movie is going to suck
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:22 PM
first time i saw Bron play was at Hoban. He had about 5 of those huge blocks you hate cursed, The ones he put about 15 rows up in the stands
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:25 PM
You know what’s interesting..is as dominating as LeBron was in high school (ridiculously), there are older people who swear that Clark Kellogg was better in high school. Is that even possible?
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:27 PM
saw bron 6x in HS…absolutely ridiculous. he was taller than our center by like 2 or 3 inches.
clark kellogg endorses donatos pizza, so id say fuck yea, the man could/can dominate.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:27 PM
they also think dunking should be outlawed
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:29 PM
Kellogg scored 51 of his teams 65 in the Ohio title game, ridiculous. And, they lost.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:30 PM
The guy ran this city in High School. I still can believe i witnessed in person a player jam a ball between his les in a basketball game……..in high school. Never heard a place erupt like that for an amateur event.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:31 PM
les = legs
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:33 PM
the game at the gund against oak hill was unreal. that team had like 12 DI players on it and he destroyed them
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:34 PM
I paid some ridiculous amount of money to watch him at SVSM. $50 or something like that for a ticket.
/went to high school in Cleveland
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:35 PM
no shit, where?
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:36 PM
i heard lebron’s family crest is a barracuda eating neil armstrong.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:38 PM
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:39 PM
@Pl- Eds
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:40 PM
Duder, wasn’t that game vs Oak Hill at CSU? Charley Rosen went to town on LeBron after the game. Here’s link: http://espn.go.com/page2/s/rosen/021213.html
I still wish I could see the game where Roger Bacon beat ST. V’s his junior year in the title game.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:40 PM
so anyway, lebron would put on a white tie and tails and walk his cobra through the park on a leash. He named the cobra Beverly, and he taught it how to fetch and dial a phone. But then one day it bit the maid. So with tears in his eyes, Brasky had to shoot the maid.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:41 PM
just read a story about some kid from eds. guess hes a top 10 baseball player in the country
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:42 PM
maybe cursed. i know i went with some buddys. youre probably right
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:43 PM
i remember when Lebron played at the Beeghly Center vs. George Junior Republic. He got fouled pretty hard and his Mom ran on the court complaining..
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:47 PM
watched it on tv. he won the national championship his senior year though so i think hed take the trade off.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:56 PM
I’m surprised TBL, who said he was a fan of 80’s basketball, hasn’t mentioned the apperent beef between Isiah and Magic over Magic’s new book. It’s actually pretty interesting.
On another note, what the fuck is up with all these “Illuminati” postings everywhere on Facebook and youtube nowadays? Fucking tools thinking music stars were killed to serve some sort of intricate plot by a secret government.
October 22nd, 2009 at 3:57 PM
@karma- anything to help sell a book
October 22nd, 2009 at 5:15 PM
Clark was incredible as a senior, but still no LBJ. He was also nowhere near LeBron as a junior, sophomore, or freshman. LBJ was physically ridiculous at 15. Clark was still a skinny little kid. CK was a badass with bad knees though. He lost out on a great NBA career because both knees were shot at 25.
LBJ and Jerry Lucas were both so physically dominant that it was virtually impossible to beat either one. Lucas lost once in 3 years of HS. LBJ lost 3 times in 4 years.
