NBA And Referees End Lockout
1-liner, NBA October 24th. 2009, 4:25pm
The Not-As-Crappy NBA Refs Are Coming Back To Work: No, not Jake O’Donnell, he retired after ejecting Clyde Drexler 26 times in one game. The other guys, Steve Javie, Dick Bavetta, Joey “Don’t be Duncan my balls” Crawford and the rest of the Get-Along-Gang will not miss any regular season games. The league’s 57 referees are set to begin a three-day training camp today in order to be ready by opening night, which is Tuesday. You hear that? The NBA starts Tuesday! Only seven more months until games might be exciting. [Yahoo! Sports]

The refs bring this sport down. Get some young blood in there that enforce the rules on each side of the court. No more traveling or star treatment. No more pussy ass fouls. If you can hear a foul you can call it. No more of this pinkie touch bullshit. Letthe men play a freaking game without 3 or more stops a minute. You call a bullshit foul, you deserve to get your ass chewed. No more technicals for looking at you the wrong way.

Heh, I thought part of Stern’s deal was that a certain amount of referees get forced to retire. I know experience plays a big factor in being able to referee well, but some of these referees just bow down to superstars, whether its Lebron, Kobe, D-Wade, or Shaq.
I know it’s a stars’ league, but even in a fairly called game, superstars will be able to shine without getting preferential treatment.
