Fraud Alert: Turnover-prone Iowa Trails Indiana at Home in the 4th Quarter [Update: Not Anymore!]
College Football October 31st. 2009, 2:49pm
Iowa, ranked 4th in the nation and poised to crash the BCS Championship game, has struggled mightily through three quarters at home against lowly Indiana. Iowa QB Ricky Stanzi has thrown five interceptions – four in the third quarter – and the Hawkeyes have turned the ball over six times. Indiana though, has only netted 10 points off those errors. Iowa just drew within 24-21 on a lucky 92-yard TD pass. [UPDATE: Iowa just scored on a 67-yard TD pass, Hawkeyes have their first lead, 28-24. A 10-point deficit was erased in less than three minutes. Wild game. UPDATE II: Following an interception, Iowa scored again, lead 35-24. That's three TDs in six minutes.]

October 31st, 2009 at 2:54 PM
Goodness.
October 31st, 2009 at 2:55 PM
Iowa should drop in the rankings by 5 places just because of the 5 picks, the help from the stripes, and the overall shittiness of this game.

How dare you call Iowa frauds! Only I can call them frauds!
October 31st, 2009 at 3:01 PM
and not a pick by Indiana. what a tease
October 31st, 2009 at 3:07 PM
This is setting up perfectly for a Northwestern win next week.

Iowa is legitimately the luckiest team in college football (this is coming from an Iowa fan). They play like this against Ohio State and they’ll be lucky to lose by 70.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:09 PM
Iowa is still a fraud meth ridden state regardless of the final score here.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:09 PM
Florida doesn’t drop when shit like this happens to them…
Alabama doesn’t drop when shit like this happens to them…
October 31st, 2009 at 3:10 PM
Iowa is still a fraud meth ridden state
it may be meth-ridden, but it is drfinitely a legitimate state
October 31st, 2009 at 3:11 PM
Seriously? OSU isn’t exactly a juggernaut. The team that beat them a couple of weeks ago got absolutely blasted by Wisconsin today.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:11 PM
Went grocery shopping Indiana up 21-7. Good lord.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:11 PM
Hey, Iowa produces the most corn in the country, and corn assists in the production of beer, so I think we should all say thanks to Iowa.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:12 PM
Sorry, I have a gift for hyperbole.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:14 PM
Sounds a little like you’re an Iowa apologist. Iowa is awful. And stupidly lucky.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:16 PM
Hey, Iowa produces the most corn in the country, and corn

This game has been fucking unbelievable. I can’t even begin to express my disgust that some of the BCS computers have this Iowa team ranked #1. Has anyone watched this game from the beginning? It’s so fucking rigged it’s disgusting. Not to mention how damn lucky Iowa was on the INT return. It bounced off four fucking guys. Four. And it never once went above anyone’s head. Fuck the BCS. I’m supposed to believe this is the 4th best team in the nation? fuck.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:19 PM
Um… they’d be #4 with or without the BCS.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:20 PM
There’s an easy way to figure out how good Iowa really is, but a playoff makes too much sense.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:21 PM
Loving the Iowa hate thread. I’m tired of all the Hawkeye talk around here. I just want them to fuckin’ lose already!
October 31st, 2009 at 3:21 PM
Is this announcer really trying to tell me that Ricky Stanzi and his 5 INT’s should be given the player of the game?
October 31st, 2009 at 3:21 PM
No football team other than Notre Dame can be called the “luckiest” team in the nation
With this made extra point Iowa pulls out one of the most crushing covers of the season for those taking the 17.5 today
October 31st, 2009 at 3:22 PM
if in the game story, you replaced the Iowa with Florida and Indiana with Kentucky, the story would be what a great comeback it was and they never lost faith and Tebow is the best leader since Napolean. all you’ll hear after this game is iowa=fraud
October 31st, 2009 at 3:22 PM
Theyre gonna win this game by 17 and the computers wont drop them at all all..
October 31st, 2009 at 3:22 PM
Ha. I’m a buckeye fan I could give two shits about Iowa, I’m just sayin, we gotta treat everybody equally. Was ‘bama lucky last week? they didn’t drop…
October 31st, 2009 at 3:24 PM

October 31st, 2009 at 3:26 PM
pretty rad news, guys – going to tweak the site’s look very shortly. i know this was promised in like august but the guy i hired just wasn’t very good and took too long, so the R&D did it.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:26 PM
Iowa is a good team, and they deserve to be where they are. They’re going to lose by double digits in two weeks, but right now they’re deserving.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:26 PM
“It’ll get ya drunk! You’ll be fuckin fat bitches in no time!”

If this change involves no more Fridays with Artie Lange I fully support this
October 31st, 2009 at 3:30 PM
It’s all about the Hope and Change these days.

I assume this Iowa-IU ref crew will be under review after this game?
October 31st, 2009 at 3:34 PM
no ideas for halloween? here’s what i suggest. walk into a party in your street clothes, when a hot chick asks what you are, tell her you’re a pre-mature ejaculator and that you just came in your pants. Works like a gem.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:36 PM
who did Mike Patrick and Craig James piss off ay abc to be assigned to the illinois-michigan game? and what are the odds that two dudes who have two first names would be calling the same game?
October 31st, 2009 at 3:48 PM
holy crap I can’t believe uconn just gave up that play. 81 yards with 30 seconds left
October 31st, 2009 at 4:17 PM
Plain and simple bad coaching by both teams as is the norm now in the Big Ten. You just don’t throw high passes against the wind, as the physics just don’t work no matter what the arm strength. If you don’t know that, you have not thrown a football yourself in awhile.
Based on that performance Iowa is totally an awful team even more than Illinois two years ago and Penn State last year against either Oregon or USC in the Rose Bowl assuming greatly that Iowa can even win out with that sort of shitty brand of corn-fed football.
