the only people a cap serves is the owners. so they get more rich while the talent has their money locked in. sounds great for communism. its also done wonders for the nba and nhl and mls.

if teams cant put good products together than sell to someone who can or contract.

Yeah, I don’t know his exact situation, but he has some good horses he is backing. I would like to know about all the whiffs he has to. Either way, he may be in line for the ultimate score for a backer.

No, I am not Cliff. I know who he is though. Speaking of Bax, he should be getting ready to watch his boy Joe Cada try to wake down the WSOP main event. Cliff has him backed and is getting what may be $4mil+ if Cada wins.

What incentive would a salary cap give the small market teams to spend up to the limit of the cap? The Padres payroll was $43 million at the beginning of the season before shedding dollars from Hairston and Peavy. A salary cap won’t stop a divorcing owner from bleeding the team’s assets. A salary cap only keeps the top tiers from spending, it doesn’t provide incentive for the cheap bastards to spend. Relevant example: Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Because in order to have a salary cap, you must have a salary floor. Otherwise the players would never accept the cap, as they would be guaranteed to make less money as a group.
