Gotta think of the big picture people.

What a politician you are Miz. The big picture for after we are all dead, for our children and our children’s children is your next line right?

I’ll worry about this month long before the next thirty years.

Prudent weekly planning for imminent, pertinent, and critical objectives makes a lifetime of prosperity for most of us lest you are tenured on some campus, feeding off the public trough (legitimately or usually illegitimately), some Wall Street thief in the name of “financial innovation,” or just another crooked politician.

I wasn’t using that as a rationalization for going to another planet. I was bringing that up as an unrelated interesting fact that seemed to dovetail nicely with what we were saying.

Point is, we’ve been looking at the moon for hundreds of years and even visited it a few times and only now have we even discovered that there is water there. How do we know what’s on Mars until we take a closer look?

But no, I’m not saying the solution to any water shortages on this planet is getting it from another.

so we have the technology, we just don’t implement it. That’s even dumber. Let’s go to Mars!

I wasn’t saying that we should mine the moon for water. But since you mentioned it, yes we do have a significant source of water on this planet, but 90+% of it is salt water and the U.S. has exactly ONE desalinization plant capable of serving a city sized population (it’s in Tampa in case you were curious).

do me a favor. Walk southeast for a while from right where you are. Stop when you see a signifigant source of water. It may take a few days, but you’ll get there. Water, we’ve got.

We’re losing a lot of our water to pollution, increased cities and droughts, though. Deserts are expanding. If you want to get crazy with it, we can talk about companies buying up fresh water lakes, and Coca Cola.
