I love this idea of honouring the greatest to ever play the game. We knew it back in the days before his first retirement, and I even hated when the merciless press was on his case knowing that he would not be playing forever. Of course we did not know he would retire so early (for sake likely with the urging of Stern to keep the gambling folks and organised crime away from the NBA; always consider his father’s murder). And then he came back and still shined with his team and later though only individually.

I would love to see a repeated simulation of Lebron and Jordan and then Kobe and Jordan one-on-one with their supporting casts in place on a clear-out using his simulation from the ages of 22-34 derived from digitisation of film of his play.

I’m guessing LeBron has more respect than that for the first foul-line dunker in NBA history.

I don’t think Dr. J ever dunked from the line in the NBA. Could be wrong, tho.

Let me clarify…Barnes is huge just from a recruiting prospective. Irving was a much bigger deal in terms of actual team success, because Duke hasn’t had a pg to run K’s offense since Duhon left.

Still, we get barnes, anything less than a nat’l championship next year will be a failure.

HUGE for Duke? Very few one and dones are HUGE.

It is huge for Duke, due to the recruiting success the Appalachian mouthbreather has had recently. A #1 recruiting class revolving around the #1 prospect in the land would go along way to silences all the morons that think Duke is fading away (the worst is the UK fans, who think Duke is done even though they went to the NIT last year).

And that Wade slam was one of the best I’ve ever seen. It ranks up there with VC’s slam over Zo.

And yes, Kobe’s game is beautiful to watch this year.
