Fran Tarkenton is Less Than Confident in Jay Cutler
NFL November 14th. 2009, 2:45pm
Hall of Fame quarterback Fran Tarkenton sounds a bit unenthused when it comes to Jay Cutler’s quarterbackability (hate you, Bud Light).
“I really question whether he can play,” Tarkenton said Friday. “Quarterbacks need to make their team better. If it’s a bad team, they can even make a bad team better. Somebody may say well, even Peyton Manning couldn’t help the Bears. Yes, he could. Tom Brady could, too. They might not win the championship or get to the playoffs, but they would make that team better. Those wide receivers who are struggling would be better because they would make them better.”Â
What wide receivers? The Bears number one “threat” is Dante Hall with dreadlocks.
“Jay Cutler had every opportunity to make plays for his team last night and every opportunity he didn’t. That’s how I judge a quarterback: Either you make plays or you don’t. I don’t even want to talk about mechanics.”
Why not just have a ceremonial shredding-of-the-jersey at the 50-yard line on Sunday? The 26-year old Cutler will more than likely hang ‘em up at season’s end anyway.

Moving this from the previous post since a new one came up when I posted it:

Really hoping someone finds out where Greg Robinson lives in Ann Arbor and takes a shit on his front doormat.

Careful, his son might get in a good swing.

Fran Tarkenton is an asshole. Fran Tarkenton played college football at U(sic)GA. Coincidence? I report, you decide.

Fran Tarkenton looks like he should be high-fiving Carleton Sheets.

I’ve never seen a picture of Cutler where my first reaction wasn’t that I need to take my 4 iron to his dome until it looks like JFK’s in that Continental in Dallas

Michigan State is trying it’s hardest to lose this game, but Purdue is having none of it. No team snatches defeat from the jaws of victory better than my teams

I know about hindsight. But why were the media and Lovie Smith the only people who didn’t know that he was Jeff George Jr.?

Jay, don’t forget Jerry Angelo–if he misses on Cutler it will be the rule not the exception
November 14th, 2009 at 3:05 PM
I don’t know if it ever occurred to Fran Tarkenton not to shit on a current QB when somebody jams a microphone in his face, but that’s all you ever hear Fran Tarkenton doing any more. Or maybe that’s all he does that makes news.

/The housing market killed his budding infomercial career

I missed your bet with Sparty JPQ. Was it that the loser had to watch the all of the winning teams remaining games? If so, that’s harsh.
November 14th, 2009 at 3:07 PM
speaking of the housing market and infomercials, who else besides me thinks that Dean Graziosi is a woman?

I know I’m the only one that’s probably fascinated by the Big 12 North “race.” But go look at it and see how close Colorado is to controlling its own destiny.

dirt, It’s worse that that. I’ll have to watch the entire Purdue/IU “Old Oaken Bucket” game in it’s entirety, with NO changing of the channels. EVERY PLAY!!!
KSM had it easier than that

Michigan losing every week is a gift that just keeps on giving.
They lose next week and they’ll miss their second consecutive bowl game appearance.
November 14th, 2009 at 3:13 PM
You know there are too many bowls when a team that’s 1-6 in their conference is only one win away from being “bowl eligible.”

Except for the daily “Let’s stamp the dirt down on their grave” posts that accompany the inevitable loss.

I am mesmerized by Dean Graziosi. It probably doesn’t help that my boy doesn’t sleep at night very well, and that I’m often up with him on my lap (where he sleeps great), flipping channels. When that “man” comes on, I just sit there trying to figure out if it’s a chick and how it could possibly be a dude.
When you google Dean Graziosi woman, you actually get propaganda from the guy’s infomercials, because they’ve figured out how to capitalize on every aspect of this guy/girl.

So how many more years does Rich Rod get?

So how many more years does Rich Rod get?
if you ask Maggs, 5 years
if you ask tyduffy, 5 minutes
November 14th, 2009 at 3:25 PM
@jpq: Five more years of Rich Rod could give Texas the chance to pass Michigan on the list of most college football wins (Michigan has like 43 more than Texas at the moment)
November 14th, 2009 at 3:26 PM
If you ask, TBL, you’ll get “NotreDameCharlieWeisUrbanMeyerBobStoops3lossesinthefinalminute”.

Poor Boilers. Looks like no trip to Detroit for the Motor City Bowl this year
November 14th, 2009 at 3:30 PM
So ESPN just showed the map of which regions get what games, and I literally don’t know who I get on ABC and ESPN. I’m right on the line. The suspense is killing me.
November 14th, 2009 at 3:31 PM
I don’t know how I can’t get TBL on the Dallas Cowboys bandwagon. They’ve got 2 losses in the final minute, too. Plus, if they get into the postseason, they’re not doing anything either, just like Notre Dame.
