Ohio State to the Rose Bowl, Charlie Weis to the Unemployment Line (?) and … Alabama Fans
College Football, Fans November 14th. 2009, 11:40pmConservative Ohio State needed overtime to beat Iowa, 27-24. Predictable Charlie Weis waited until late in the third quarter – when the Irish trailed 20-3 – to open up the offense. Then, Notre Dame got jobbed by the refs in the 4th and a potential comeback was thwarted. Pitt 27, Notre Dame 22. And now, boxing.

The chick on the left’s boobs are so humungous, they have stretch marks all over them. Put some cream on those puppies & cover them up

buffer should be forced to speak spanish at every fight he announces.
November 14th, 2009 at 11:47 PM
Chick on the right doesn’t have an upper lip.
November 14th, 2009 at 11:48 PM
I’m a MMA > Boxing guy but the UFC free fights tonight didn’t do a whole lot for me. I hope Pac/Cotto is way more entertaining.
November 14th, 2009 at 11:48 PM
Yes, Yes
November 14th, 2009 at 11:48 PM
buffer should be forced to speak spanish at every fight he announces.

November 14th, 2009 at 11:56 PM
round 2 observation: Uh, this Pacman kid is quick. where can i find a teacher to help me throw punches that fast?
November 14th, 2009 at 11:57 PM
that is seriously good boxing. I like it like that. I think i’m a whole minute behind, though.
November 14th, 2009 at 11:57 PM
That second round was that girl in the pic’s tits
November 14th, 2009 at 11:57 PM
Pac man!
November 14th, 2009 at 11:58 PM

November 14th, 2009 at 11:58 PM
down goes Frajah!
November 14th, 2009 at 11:59 PM
I can no longer get the feed Triston linked to, I think the internet cops found it!
November 14th, 2009 at 11:59 PM
UStream can join the many that need to feast on it.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:00 AM
damn. take a piss and miss the knockdown. oh well.
pacman way too quick. anyone faster than him?
November 15th, 2009 at 12:00 AM
The English guys are incredible! Best feed so far.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:00 AM

Recommend sopcast.
Pacman’s quick but Cotto’s taking it and dishing out some of his own.

Pretty sure this is Lord Alfred Hayes on coke.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:03 AM
Thanks Triston.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:03 AM
I cannot believe these guys.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:03 AM
Down he goes again. No way he’s lasting much longer.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:04 AM
He got Pacman square in the face with that one shot. Needs about 5 more of those. Not happening.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:04 AM
Left right under the jaw, just like he did Hatton. Not quite as strong though.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:04 AM
And Pacquiao catches Cotto!
November 15th, 2009 at 12:05 AM
Cotto was winning that round, then Pacquiao goes and steals it from him.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:05 AM
maver1ck i would give it to ya if i knew ya better and if you werent from minnesota.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:08 AM
the stream i’m on now, it’s like watching an etch a sketch of a boxing match. I’m pretending to know what’s happening, and relying on Jim Lampley to tell me what’s happening.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:09 AM
Good rebound round from Cotto. Is there a reason why Manny keeps trying to lean back on the ropes?
November 15th, 2009 at 12:10 AM
the stream i’m on now, it’s like watching an etch a sketch of a boxing match. I’m pretending to know what’s happening, and relying on Jim Lampley to tell me what’s happening.
dirt: you know, you could pay $64.95 + taxes and fees and get it in HD, or we could also call the WHAAAAAMMMMMMbulance for ya
November 15th, 2009 at 12:12 AM
think cotto’s doing well, but i just dont think he can win it without a haymaker
im watching here (no volume)
http://p2p4u.net/watch-live-sports.php?id=8233&link=4
November 15th, 2009 at 12:12 AM
how many rounds did most people think he’d last?
November 15th, 2009 at 12:14 AM
I thought it’d be a closer fight than the Hatton fight just cause Cotto’s beaten some good guys.
But he needs to put Pacquiao on the mat and now to give himself a chance to come back.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:14 AM
thanks TBL. I think Sanders thought Cotto would knock Pac out.
JPQ, paying is no fun.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:15 AM
most people had Cotto winning, I thought. I liked Pac, but that was based on me knowing nothing about Cotto
and dirt, I was just kidding (I’m sure you know that already)
November 15th, 2009 at 12:16 AM
it just aint happening for cotto. good fighter, but pac’s very very quick.
where do the pundits rank his speed?
November 15th, 2009 at 12:16 AM
seriously, though 65 bucks plus tax? That’s what they go for now?
November 15th, 2009 at 12:18 AM
55 for reg and 65 for HD. I thought abbout it, but couldn’t justify it, when I can get a shitty version of it w/ blogger sarcasm included for free
November 15th, 2009 at 12:19 AM
Neither can take Tom Zbikowski.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:20 AM
looking bleak for cotto.
this could be the final round ..
November 15th, 2009 at 12:20 AM
And no one can take the boxing Kangaroo from Tekken.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:20 AM
Cotto’s singing Run to the Hills right now.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:22 AM
i’ve never watched Cotto before, but the way he turns his head and backpedals with his glove up protecting his face, it looks like it must be hurting him every time he gets hit there
November 15th, 2009 at 12:23 AM
that ref’s got money on Cotto. Stop the fight, boss.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:23 AM
Cotto’s done.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:24 AM
i am convinced manny would drop mayweather
November 15th, 2009 at 12:25 AM
Me too. I think the quickness of his hands can overcome Floyd’s defensive style.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:26 AM
I would give $5000 to charity to see PacMan beat the fucking life out of Mayweather. I hate that guy
November 15th, 2009 at 12:27 AM
What’s with all this talk about stopping the fight? He’s still fighting back..throwing some jabs. Is that a regular occurrence in boxing? MMA guys fight until they’re done, what the hell is that all about?
November 15th, 2009 at 12:28 AM
the whole “this looks like a firing squad for traitor comment” was way over the top
November 15th, 2009 at 12:29 AM
these british guys were saying that Cotto isn’t taking the blows with awareness, that he’s getting his head snapped back. That was last round though.
Boxing is different than MMA, though, cursed. It’s repeated blows to the head.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:30 AM
I would give $5000 to charity to see PacMan beat the fucking life out of Mayweather. I hate that guy
But would you pay $69.95 + taxes?
At this point, that’s the fight that’s gotta happen before July of next year.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:30 AM
Mayweather is convinced of this too. He will eventually take the fight though because it will be a huge payday.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:30 AM
Fair enough, which is why I laugh when people say MMA is more violent. Overtime boxing is. But for all that money and nobody giving a shit about undercards, you can’t end fights prematurely. Sorry.
/says the guy who’s watching it for free.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:33 AM
In MMA, when you put the guy down, you jump on him and finish him. In this, the guy gets 10 seconds to regain his composure, and you go right back to hitting him in the head.
Cotto is almost certainly concussed.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:33 AM
Is it over yet? Pac Man has a concert scheduled for later tonight.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:33 AM
the british announcers would make you think that manny just performed a conchairto on cotto’s head and then spraypainted manny on his back.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:33 AM
Cotto’s wife stole Michael Jackson’s nose
November 15th, 2009 at 12:33 AM
Can’t compare the two, Boxers can take a lot more damage over time. I thought the talk was a little pre-mature but the fight was pretty one-sided after the 3rd round. Just look at Cotto’s face now, the heavy swelling around the eyes he will just be taking abuse now.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:34 AM
Pac Man/Money May. Must happen.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:34 AM
impressive win for Pacman.
spirited effort from Cotto. saw on twitter that his corner wanted to stop it in the 9th, and his wife and kid walked out.
“agony for Cotto.” – Irish announcers who made my night
November 15th, 2009 at 12:34 AM
Pac barely looks tired, or punched. Cotto looks like a badass hit him in the head 600 times.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:35 AM
does Pacman even have a scratch?
November 15th, 2009 at 12:35 AM
I might actually get the Pac/Mayweather fight if they agree to do it. I can’t wait for Mayweather to get his ass kicked.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:36 AM
Cotto’s wife stole Michael Jackson’s nose and LaToya’s tits
November 15th, 2009 at 12:36 AM
Except when they tap out
November 15th, 2009 at 12:36 AM
Can mayweather dodge pacman anymore? Is there anyone else out there that would give mayweather as big of a pay day? This fight must occur within the next 12 months
November 15th, 2009 at 12:36 AM
I can’t wait for Mayweather to get his ass kicked.
Mayweather can. I’ll bet he ducks it.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:36 AM
well, reports did say mj was buried w/o his nose.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:37 AM
could pac go another 5 rounds right now?
priorities: He has some singing engagement first, of course.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:37 AM
MMA guys fight until they’re done
Except when they tap out
or big john whatever his name is decides they’ve quit defending themselves.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:37 AM
Tell that to Royce Gracie haha. But I see your point. But when guys are getting crushed in standup, they don’t just throw in the towel. When they’re about to get their arm broken and there’s no end in sight, there’s no reason to keep fighting, you can’t win at that point.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:38 AM
The Filipino street urchin completely outclassed and tuned up the game and proud, 10 stone 5 Puerto Rican champion.
/time for a pint
November 15th, 2009 at 12:38 AM
Cotto’s face looks like Stallone’s in Rocky I except he lost
November 15th, 2009 at 12:38 AM
Cotto is gonna be one sore mutha tomorrow and the day after and the day after that and so one for a couple weeks
November 15th, 2009 at 12:38 AM
last time Cotto took a beating like that it was from loaded gloves, no plaster on Pacman’s hands.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:40 AM
I see what you’re saying cursed, but as others have said, there’s a big difference. If you put CompuBox in a MMA fight there wouldn’t be nearly the blows as sustained in a boxing match.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:40 AM
cursed: we’ve done Pac10 v Big10 already tonight. Nobody wants to do boxing v MMA (or O&A v Stern)
November 15th, 2009 at 12:40 AM
off to january jones on SNL …
November 15th, 2009 at 12:41 AM
But when guys are getting crushed in standup, they don’t just throw in the towel.
they have other options to try. Boxing is a standup fight, with bigger gloves to soften the immediate impact on the hands, so you can keep punching. There’s not jujitsu to try, or wrapping your legs around a dude. There is just punching.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:41 AM
Well I guess I’m talking entertainment wise. I do understand that boxing purists don’t mind watching two guys out point eachother and that knockouts aren’t the end all. But is that the case for the casual fan. I guess grew up during the Tyson era when fights did not go very long, so throwing in the towel wasn’t part of the discussion in his fights.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:42 AM
So I guess my question is, for 60 bucks, are you guys cool with fighters throwing in the towel.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:44 AM
Floyd would have knocked Cotto out in the 6th
November 15th, 2009 at 12:44 AM
In a case like this, absolutely.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:44 AM
So I guess my question is, for 60 bucks, are you guys cool with fighters throwing in the towel.
cursed: one of the reasons I stopped buying UFC PPV’s (all 3 of them) was the stretch when the ref stopped about 5 big fights in a row after like one big hit. (I recall Shamrock/Ortiz was one)
November 15th, 2009 at 12:45 AM
cursed, what you were watching wasn’t anything to do with out pointing. One of those two guys just beat the living shit out of the other one. For 34 minutes.
In the middle rounds, when he wasn’t aware of what was happening, and he was getting ruined, those British guys were saying the fight should be stopped because he was getting his brain scrambled.
He kept getting the one minute break to regain his balance and equilibrium, which MMA guys aren’t allowed nearly as many of.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:45 AM
If fights weren’t stopped there’d be multiple in ring deaths per year. the fighters won’t stop so it’s up to the ref and the people in the fighters corner to literally save their life after a continuous beating. One hard Tyson shot will knock you out, multiple shots will kill you.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:48 AM
Floyd would have knocked Cotto out in the 6th
Has Floyd ever knocked anybody out (at least anyone lately that’s any good). He and his crackhead Father and Uncle talk a good game, but he seems to rope-a-dope a lot of decisions
November 15th, 2009 at 12:49 AM
i think even now boxing is more brutal than mma. if boxers wore 5 ounce gloves like mma guys there would be about 10 deaths a year. and plus boxers on have to concentrate on one thing: punching. so they are extremely good at it.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:49 AM
Rather uninspiring performance by the Black Eyed Peas. Proving further why I can’t stand hip hop live. Keep it in the studios and onto my illegally downloaded torrents.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:51 AM
i think even now boxing is more brutal than mma.
It’s like the difference between fighting with an ax, and fighting with a club. With the MMA ax, you see the damage more clearly, far sooner. With the club, there’s just so many more bludgeons. No MMA guy is ever going to get hit 400 times in one fight, because he’d go out cold way before that.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:51 AM
Manny beat the piss out of a shell that used to be Cotto tonight. Even though he’s not anywhere close to what he was before he got bludgeoned with loaded gloves, he managed to catch Manny on several occasions. If Manny were to fight as sloppily against Mayweather as he did tonight, he’d get laid out.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:54 AM
Totally understand. But we’re talking someone’s corner vs a referee who’s certified by a state athletic commission. There’s liability at stake there.
So how did he not knock him out? He knocked Hatton out early..As you guys can tell I’m not a boxing expert, used to just watch all the big Tyson fights and the big Lennox Lewis jab fests. But just curious why if he was doing so much damage, why he couldn’t end the fight earlier.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:55 AM
who is this anorexic bitch and why is she hosting saturday night live?
/dvr’d
November 15th, 2009 at 12:56 AM
And none of this is to say I’m shitting on boxing. I just enjoy MMA more (not to say there aren’t bore fests like tonight’s Couture/Vera fight).
I was just trying to understand the throwing in the towel thing. I think I do now. But that won’t stop me from shitting on it tomorrow in a blog entry.
/yeah right, like I blog.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:57 AM
No. But he’s also only fought once in the last two years.
November 15th, 2009 at 12:58 AM
If Manny were to fight as sloppily against Mayweather as he did tonight, he’d get laid out.
Floyd fought the worst PPV fight in history against the corpse of Oscar, and Manny turned the same guy’s face into Spam. I’ll stick w/ Manny. I may be wrong, but my dislike of Momey May is to great to allow me to see it any other way.
You know I’m old school, so I just respect the way Pac and Roach just go about their business and shut people up. I cannot stand big mouthed trash talkers
November 15th, 2009 at 12:59 AM
Cotto was saved by the bell in one round, and managed to dance away and backpedal around the ring for what seemed like the last 2/3 of the fight. He deserves some credit for not getting knocked cold before the 12th.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:00 AM
they should pipe the Black Eyed Peas music at 100 dbA into Gitmo so we can stop waterboarding people. We’ll get everything we need after one song
November 15th, 2009 at 1:01 AM
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge PacMan fan. And I fuckin’ hate Mayweather. It’s just that I saw some things from Manny tonight that he needs to work on before he fights Floyd. That’s a dude that’s good enough to make him pay for small mistakes.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:02 AM
Although, Freddy Roach talks his fair share of trash.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:12 AM
i keep watching SNL hoping to see the show where they finally breakthrough and have a funny show. my wait continues after tonight’s show.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:14 AM
i keep watching SNL hoping to see the show where they finally breakthrough and have a funny show. my wait continues after tonight’s show.
does your DVR have any shows in it from like 15 years ago?
November 15th, 2009 at 1:17 AM
/dvr’d
Mad Men has been the best drama on TV for at least two years now. You should use your DVR to know about the lovely Betty Draper.
What’s funny is those 93-94 seasons end of Farley/Sandler/Hartman etc. were destroyed critically at the time, and now everyone looks back on them as a golden age.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:19 AM
jpq: unfortunately no. i know the show goes through stretches where it sucks but now it is awful.
sketches are too long and usually just try to do off the wall shit the isnt funny unless you’re 8. and the cast and hosts are so obvious when they are reading their lines it is pathetic. maybe it is because im looking for faults in the show but i dont remember the old casts being that obvious about it.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:20 AM
i’ll take breaking bad.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:20 AM
January Jones reading words written for her as Betty Draper > January Jones reading words written for her by NYC cagey douchbags for SNL
there’s been a lot of dry periods on SNL (they almost cancelled it once as I recall), but the last few years have really been unwatchable. If Tina Fey didn’t return every week to bail them out w/ Sarah Palin last fall, they’d be in even worse shape
November 15th, 2009 at 1:23 AM
anyone know if legarrette blount saw any playing time tonight? Doesn’t look like it based on the box score.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:24 AM
Several times. Tom Shales and James Andrew Miller’s “Live from New York” is amazing read, essentially it’s just interviews with pretty much every major cast member except for Murphy and Murray (and Gilda/Belushi/Farley, obviously), but I couldn’t put it down. I like Breaking Bad mrejr, but it’s not number 1 in my heart.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:24 AM
True. And I’ll take Dexter.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:24 AM
maybe the laugh flash sign is broke but even the audience is silent this episode.
November 15th, 2009 at 1:27 AM
dexter is good(the books are even better) but for my money i take Breaking Bad over anything.
if it wasnt for the weekend update i doubt i would even watch SNL
November 15th, 2009 at 1:28 AM
Hasn’t been in yet
November 15th, 2009 at 1:52 AM
Just left a place called scoop like 2 miles from UCF. OMFG the girls are fine as hell there I wass with my girl but my advice for anyone in central Florida is go there NEXT weekend. Feel me?
