Ballin’: Ron Artest Inexplicably Tosses Trevor Ariza’s Shoe Into the Crowd
NBA, Video November 16th. 2009, 11:15amHouston 101, LA Lakers 91: The Rockets’ bench trumped the Lakers’ reserves 48-18 and Ron Artest tossed Trevor Ariza’s shoe. Kobe, still clinging to the NBA scoring lead over ‘Melo, was a tepid 5-of-20 and had a season-low 18 points. LA has uncharacteristically lost two in a row. Aaron Brooks scored 33.
LA Clippers 101, Oklahoma City 93: Kevin Durant had 40, but how bad was his supporting cast? Durant: 14 field goals, Everyone else: 19. Durant from three: 2-of-4; rest of the team: 1-for-16. Chris Kaman continued his outstanding start to the season with 25 points.
Dallas 95, Detroit 90: Dirk led five Mavs’ in double figures with 25 points. How is free agent Shawn Marion working out? His assists and rebounds are down, he’s only scoring 13 a game, and his 3-point shooting, so key for the Suns’ earlier this decade, has evaporated (0-for-2 this season). In defeat, Will Bynum continued his early push for 6th man of the year by scoring 27 points in 29 minutes. That’s his third 20+ scoring outburst this season. Ben Gordon shot 1-for-16.
Toronto 100, Phoenix 101: Steve Nash’s 3-point play with :38 seconds left improved the Suns’ home win-streak to 13 games. Two nights after a 2-for-15 clunker in a loss to the Lakers, Amare went for 30 as the Suns improved to 9-2. Chris Bosh, playing with perhaps free agency on his mind, went for 25-10. He’s averaging career bests of 27-11.

Good luck on Larry Brown’s shitlist, Cap’n Jack. i wonder if he’ll ask for the captaincy, since he has experience.

How is free agent Shawn Marion working out
Josh Howard has barely played so they haven’t even had their best lineup on the court yet, but Marion is doing fine. My old man won’t shut up about how valuable he’s been, so i’m going with good.

it doesn’t seem too crazy to toss the shoe just off the court. he just tossed it out of the way, its not like he turned around and launched it.

Rashard plays tonight vs Charlotte. his 10 game suspension is over. 7-3 w/o him. not bad

Or maybe he’s healthy for the first time in a few years? Or maybe he’s finally got some offensive support now that Bargnani is coming around and Hedo is on board? People that think he’s playing any harder this year than previous years haven’t been paying attention.

I’m under the impression that Shawn Marion limiting his 3 point attempts is a good thing.

Bynum-ite is dope as fuck. Reminds me of Vinny “The Microwave” Johnson, although he would have to continue doing what he is doing for a long time to be as epic as Vinny was.

or maybe its the addition of good friend Jarrett Jack? If that was Conley and Oden, TBL would be all over that

Jack’s been solid. His shot isn’t falling but he plays good D and runs the offense well. It’s nice to have a legitimate back-up PG.

Jack’s been solid
I agree. that was a great addition. Last year, TBL thought the idea of Conley being traded to Portland would help O-dones career. that was the only reason i brought up Conley

my biggest love/hate relationship in the nba: Artest, easily.
stack jack trade gets its own post later.

re: Conley … Memphis fans are pissed that they passed on Jennings at TWO because they dont like conley, i guess.
basically, everyone except the Clippers is upset they missed on jennings. still think it is too early for that hand-wringing
November 16th, 2009 at 11:54 AM
What evidence was there that Jennings was going to start his Association career like this? Fans can be ticked off at teams not drafting him, but there was NOTHING that told anyone he would look like a 5th year All Star in his first 10 games…

Traded Troy Murphy for Jamison and Conley in fantasy earlier this season. I think I lost on that deal.

As I said on my own blog: that was a dick move, Artest. Now you owe Trevor Ariza breakfast.

My girlfriend thought this whole song was about masturbation, not blow. I don’t think she’s very bright.

The Microwave was awesome, but Bynum just has incredible explosiveness. Leave Stuckey on the bench, and start Bynum for god’s sake.

Who throws a shoe? Honestly!
