BBQ chat too? Texas, Kansas City, Memphis rule …I’m mostly a beef brisket and beef ribs fan with the spicy sauce though unlike most who prefer pork it seems.

FEDERAL sharpshooters are culling deer here in the Philly area and donating the fine venison to local food banks. Really there are just way too many in the high traffic affected area, and amazingly there are way more deer around here than anywhere I have lived including Virginia and Indiana. Philly who would have figured?

Up near my friend near Scranton, deer hunting is the local sport after high school football season but folks eat what they kill unlike those scumbag hunting types who do not.

I live in an affluent area (not to be confused with living in affluence as is not the case) that is not affected, and daily when I go to the nice park across the street there they are all over in broad daylight too. They hang out at night at a local office park too.

I don’t think Gladwell got defensive; he made an argument to defend a previously stated position that was under attack. He did it pretty convincingly too.
Maybe it was unnecessary, but there was nothing thin-skinned about it.
Argument is key to deeper understanding and meaningful opinions.

Joe Alleva’s fault. When he heard her agent’s proposal, he straight up said, “it’s women’s basketball, no one pays that.” While a noble sentiment, it pretty much sealed the end of his tenure at Duke.

rondesvous in memphis is the best dry rub around, and i am not a fan of dry rub bbq.
johnny b, you ever been to craigs in devall’s bluff. a total hole in the wall, but damn if they can’t make a mean bbq sandwich.

I haven’t been to Craigs, but you aren’t the first person to tell me about it. Living in NWA, its a bit of a drive over there. If I was going to the game in LR this weekend I would probably make it a point to go.

Memphis is worth the drive alone for the BBQ there. I am a big fan of Rendezvous ( I don’t know anyone who isn’t ) and I also love Central BBQ’s ribs. I am getting hungry talking about it…

The book is actually Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The Joy of Cooking is by Irma Rombauer.

Ahh..you’re right. mastering the art is good, too, but I think “Joy” is a better book. More informative. Child is the shit though.
