Colt McCoy Just Wins, Baby (Mangino)
College Football November 21st. 2009, 7:00pm
The Kansas Jayhawks visit the Texas Longhorns tonight as Colt McCoy looks to become the winningest quarterback in NCAA history. As we all know, W-L record is the most important statistic to use when discussing the greatness of a quarterback.
Of course, to become the winningest winner in NCAA history, he and the #3 Longhorns have to get past Mark Mangino and his pansy-ass squad.
Expect a lot of finger pointing and name calling if the Jayhawks don’t put up much of a fight. Look for Jordan Shipley (he and McCoy are good friends!) to have a big game just like every other week.
In the one game tonight today that features two ranked teams – (25) Cal visits (19) Stanford. I guess you could call it a battle for Pac-10 supremacy, but I wouldn’t say that. Never. It’ll be interesting to see how many times Jim Harbaugh goes for two if the Cardinal get up by a couple touchdowns. Or maybe it won’t. You be the judge!

i finally get to see SUH! play tonight. he better not disappoint or i will hunt everypne down who has been singing his praises on here.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:05 pm
Wow – the LSU player took the ground ball/onside kick. The Ole Miss player gave it the ole (spanish)
/see what I did ther.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:06 pm
what i did was forget the ‘e’
November 21st, 2009 at 7:06 pm
ole miss just giving this game away
November 21st, 2009 at 7:06 pm
Hoping Texas loses and Colt dies somehow.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:07 pm
didn’t i just read that somewhere?
Ole Miss just shit all over themselves this game.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:08 pm
no you did not just read that somewhere.
/jedi mind trick’d

November 21st, 2009 at 7:10 pm
SEC offense…it’s fantastic!
November 21st, 2009 at 7:11 pm
I seriously hope no one uses this Ole Miss/LSU game to tell me how great the SEC is. This game has been an abomination of poor coaching/play calling, terrible decision making by the players, etc. Ole Miss looks like they’re going to escape, but neither team deserves to win.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:11 pm
Does LSU-Ohio St-Michigan’s qbs combined equal 1 decent D-1 QB?
November 21st, 2009 at 7:12 pm
Les Miles just shit the bed after a miracle 4th down conversion.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:12 pm
This may be the worst coached game in the history of college football.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:13 pm
Wow that was the worst end of game clock management I’ve ever seen. Andy Reid-esque.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:13 pm
Seriously – you convert a miraculous “chuck” to the 5 yard line with 1 second left. The clock stops, and so rather than run the FG team on, or at least put a play in to try to win, they spike it to end the game.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:14 pm
Les Miles’ explanation made no sense.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:15 pm
i knew it was missing something
November 21st, 2009 at 7:15 pm
That’s Bayou smarts there…
November 21st, 2009 at 7:17 pm
and I’m back (posting from Rochester), but I think Les was being honest – that he couldn’t get the field goal unit on in time. However, they just had a timeout to discuss what would happen if that hail mary was caught, so I have no idea how they didn’t have something to run after that.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:18 pm
By the way, college football needs to review when they start the clock after a first down. It seemed like LSU had over 45 seconds to decide what to do there, which just isn’t fair.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:18 pm
Les Miles is a Michigan man.
/bad day for the Wolverines all around
November 21st, 2009 at 7:20 pm
Dead last in the Big Ten – bowl ineligible for a 2nd year in a row.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:23 pm
That loss wasn’t on Miles.
It was on Jefferson, PERIOD.
1. They wouldn’t have been in that situation if he hadn’t taken YET ANOTHER SACK.
2. He waited TWELVE FUCKING SECONDS to call timeout. A good quarterback takes control of the situation and doesn’t stare at the sidelines like a deer in the headlights.
3. He really thought he could spike the ball in half a second?
Jordan Jefferson is the second coming of Aaron Fucking Brooks.
Actually, that is probably an insult to Aaron Brooks. Jordan Jefferson is a fucking imbecile who has no intelligence and no leadership ability.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:24 pm
Does not compute.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:24 pm
Best comment on TBL all day…
It’s 7:24 and Michigan still SUCKS!

Living in the South makes you dumber.
/Northerner living in the South
November 21st, 2009 at 7:26 pm
The head coach can also call timeout. Don’t put that on Jefferson. They play call was bad to put him in the position to lose 12 yards. The time lost after the sack was COMPLETELY on the coaching staff…
That was just not a good sequence for LSU, players and coaches… period.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:28 pm
I bet you Colt McCoy or Tim Tebow wouldn’t have sat there with his finger up his ass while his team loses the ball game.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:29 pm
Has everybody already seen this? I can’t stop laughing.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:33 pm
They are both senior leaders and All-Americans. The coach should know that he has an inexperienced, brainless kid as his QB. He made some bonehead plays, but Miles HAS to be better because his QB isn’t.
LSU was ALREADY in FG territory when he called a deep drop pass play that got Jefferson sacked. A coach has to know what he has. It is no shock to anyone that LSU is offensively challenged. They can’t get caught in that situation late in the game…
November 21st, 2009 at 7:34 pm
Again, if you’re the quarterback in that situation and you waste 15 seconds on the clock because you are just sitting around there saying “DUUUUUHHHHHHHHH, what am I supposed to do here coach, DUUUUUUUHHHHHHH,” then you are not a leader. At some point, instinct has to take over. And Jordan Jefferson has the instinct and the chances of a blind, 3-legged dog hanging out on the interstate.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:35 pm
Jay, LSU fucking blows. So do the Saints.
/at least LSU covered
November 21st, 2009 at 7:35 pm
ok paolo
November 21st, 2009 at 7:36 pm
Jay, where does this land you guys in terms of a bowl invite?
November 21st, 2009 at 7:36 pm
I think they should have run too. But Jefferson has to at least have the instinct to realize that a guy is coming from behind and that you shouldn’t KEEP RUNNING BACKWARDS AND RUN STRAIGHT INTO HIS PATH.
Trust me, I am not a fan of Gary Crowton either.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:36 pm
Gerhart just took it 61 yards for a TD. Granted, it WAS against Cal but still, just give him the Heisman.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:36 pm
Worst. Cotton Bowl. Ever.
November 21st, 2009 at 7:37 pm
Gerhart goes 61 in honor of Cpt Tiger Woods.

November 21st, 2009 at 8:05 pm
im more offended by how ugly notre dame fans are than their football team. that campus must be scary.
November 21st, 2009 at 8:09 pm
Love how this guy was ran out of Oregon for being a POS, but is considered an offensive genius in the SEC.
Having said this you still don’t put the blame on Miles for the non-timeout call? That non-timeout call is purely on Miles, you’ll come to realize that once you calm down. As you said Jefferson is not Tebow or McCoy and Miles should know that. Some one should have taken leadership there and it starts with the head coach.
November 21st, 2009 at 8:31 pm
Speaking of Gary Crowton, this is kinda funny.
November 21st, 2009 at 8:33 pm
Spike is running Ortiz-Griffin I right now. Jaime Pressly looking spectacular.
November 21st, 2009 at 8:34 pm
I thought the UFC was a pay per view thing? Why am I seeing Ortiz/Griffin on SpikeTV right now?
November 21st, 2009 at 8:37 pm
tonight is the rematch Cracker Jack. This is there first fight. People paid fifty bucks for it five years ago or whatever.
November 21st, 2009 at 8:38 pm
It is Ortiz-Griffin 1 from 3 years ago cracker.
November 21st, 2009 at 8:38 pm
Ahh I get it. They should be more clear that this is taped coverage. For clueless folks like me.
November 21st, 2009 at 8:39 pm

i like what you did there with the headline, CRM.
just stole the remote to see Stanford/Cal. Harbaugh’s losing!
November 21st, 2009 at 9:57 pm
Is it 3-0? That’s what I came up with but I could be wrong. Over 7-5 Arizona State in 2005, 6-6 Arizona in 2006, and 3-7 Washington in 2009. Very impressive.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:03 pm
Jay, take solace in the fact the fact that you are a fan of a team that probably could finish near the middle of the pack in the Pac-10 the last couple years if they catch a couple breaks but fortunately for them they play in the SEC.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Quizz…how about that NCAA tournament prediction you made for your team.

Robin Williams is so so so annoying. I’d rather watch a Dane Cook standup.

What? When?

November 21st, 2009 at 10:16 pm

November 21st, 2009 at 10:18 pm
I pretty much hate Robin Williams. The only performance that I can recall that I enjoyed was in Good Will Hunting.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Brent must have a LOT on Oregon. He’s about ready to drop an F-bomb as Arizona scores to take the lead.
Also, this game is featuring the ugliest uniforms possibly ever.

AND PATCH ADAMS. I had a girlfriend who I’d been dating for two months and she revealed this was her favorite movie (in retrospect, her favorite show was Charmed… your classic Wiccan/Sorority Vice-President) That was the beginning of the end right there.

HOWEVER … patch adams is sad.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:32 pm
Sad that a studio decided to make the movie? Sad as in RW’s performance?
November 21st, 2009 at 10:33 pm
What in the hell was Harbaugh thinking? What a bizarre decision with all their timeouts remaining.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:34 pm
amir beat baroni like he stole something. that is a good thing.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:36 pm
agree with QQ – bad move by harbaugh. have to punt there. had all his timeouts!
game’s over
November 21st, 2009 at 10:38 pm
What is going on with this game? No attempt at a first down? Stanford has a chance. Well, they would if Andrew Luck wasn’t their quarterback.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:38 pm
stanford will get the ball back down 6.
if harbaugh wins this …
November 21st, 2009 at 10:43 pm

November 21st, 2009 at 10:50 pm
so luck’s the No. 1 returning QB in the land next year, right? if not 1, he’s gotta be top 5.
i assume clausen is gone.
barkley’s in the mix … pryor (come on, you know he is), who else?
November 21st, 2009 at 10:53 pm
Sean Renfree will be ACC PotY next year, just you watch
November 21st, 2009 at 10:54 pm
Clausen is gone to be a #2 somewhere for awhile.
November 21st, 2009 at 10:59 pm
I can think of guys who were backups this year that are better than Andrew Luck
November 21st, 2009 at 10:59 pm
Luck isn’t even the top returning quarterback in the Pac-10. Masoli, Locker (if he comes back), and maybe even Nick Foles.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:01 pm
Currently wearing Lamar Thomas jersey.
I’ve done an Orndorff move on the Irish.

Wherever Charlie is OC of, I suspect.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:03 pm
Beadle/Feltch. Who is a better backup?
November 21st, 2009 at 11:04 pm
Jacory Harris > Andrew Luck
November 21st, 2009 at 11:06 pm
Tebow’s backup, Landry Jones probably is better, Kale Pick
/one of those is not a real answer
November 21st, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Jones is awful. Fail.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:09 pm
Fetch, OSU covered today against Wazzu. And Landry Jones certainly is not better than Andrew Luck.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:10 pm
Harris can be very good and very Grossman
/coming from a Canes fan
November 21st, 2009 at 11:10 pm
I’ll bet anything you want Jones has a better year next year.
And false. Wazzu covered. I won my tease
November 21st, 2009 at 11:12 pm
Does anybody else get this UO/UA game? What a game.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Really? The line I saw was at 31.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Well jeez what a bet Feltch. What’s your parley that you are not as fat as Weis and Mangina? Jesus fuck man.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:13 pm
but I teased it QQ. Moved it to 41
November 21st, 2009 at 11:17 pm
Fuck me…my bad. I forgot you teased. Good play.
November 21st, 2009 at 11:22 pm

So much for the notion of SMU playing in the CUSA Championship. Hawaii on Christmas Eve it is.
November 22nd, 2009 at 12:05 am
I have never seen a coach fuck up that badly. Les Miles should donate his game check to charity for brain damage patients.
November 22nd, 2009 at 12:07 am
like I said, if you want to make that bet we sure can
November 22nd, 2009 at 12:15 am
what? This is good bait. Stanford has stepped their game up a lot(LSU would still beat them), Oregon has been great, USC has sucked(LSU would beat the brakes off them), Arizona has been better than average. I’ll say we’ll finish first, with a loss to Oregon.
November 22nd, 2009 at 12:18 am
Which bet? Cage match?
/Paolo’d
November 22nd, 2009 at 12:24 am
Cal football may not be relevant, but we didn’t get beat by bunch of rich kids. Stanford was exposed for what they are. Toby Gerhart might play NFL football, but when you place him against real athletes, he sucks. He’s a fullback that will play a max two years in the league. Buena suerte.
November 22nd, 2009 at 12:25 am
nah, fuck that. we’ll finish last!!
/watching that retarded end of the game again.
