Who needs a jump?
December 30th, 2009 at 8:47 AM
I fixed a few errors for you.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:49 AM
I clicked on that 20 most beautiful people of the decade and the first person was that dead in the eyes pasty Ashley Green. I did not continue.

December 30th, 2009 at 8:49 AM
But they’re Da U!!!!!
/they got beaten by unfrozen caveman offense so let’s stop talking about them, ok?
December 30th, 2009 at 8:50 AM
Clay is a sophomore huh. I don’t know how much of their o-line is coming back, but you have to like him next year. I had him on my fantasy team this year. I’d be happy to have him back next year.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:50 AM
Harris is trash?
December 30th, 2009 at 8:51 AM
That BBQ vid is the single greatest link ever posted here.
It’s going to take days to break down, analyze, and understand exactly everything about this vid.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:54 AM
That’s the best pic I ever remember seeing on this sight. That and GodsoftheGridiron’s gravitar.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:54 AM
Jacory is decent but then again I might be decent if you gave me 5 6′4″ receivers. The canes really missed Jason Fox last night.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:54 AM
If you think that’s bad, you should’ve seen what happened at my university’s student newspaper when I was there. Idiots.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:54 AM
if only i had the same problem as crossing Marrin County in my red Mercedes looking for my next million dollar home to buy.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:54 AM
Miami fans who have a clue (there’s about 7 of us) know that this team is not “back” even though people were saying it and the media kept asking it. Piss poor performance against a team that played a run of the mill Big Ten game.
He certinaly was last night, but I’m glad he was still walking after all those dives at his knees by Wisc. pass rushers.
Do not deny that statement on both counts. They are not back, they are not a top ten team for next year preseason. They are not back until they can go through an entire season and not have an effort like they put forth last night.
Last thing I will say is that the field last night was an abortion to football. Graig Cooper who has never had a knee problem hurts himself on a cut in the middle of the field because the newly installed sod is flopping all over the place. If you piece of shit bowls are going to reign in the money for your game make sure there is a decent field for the players to play on.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:55 AM
Harris isn’t trash, but he isnt very good yet. Certainly not as good as the hype he (and Miami) was getting early on in the season.
Nice win for Wisky. The B10 is going to need a few more, but I like our matchups.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:57 AM
That “column” is insufferable. Yeesh, what a snipe job. And stop throwing around words like “insufferable,” anyway. They’re pissed. If you don’t like it, change the station. Lord knows what would be happening around here if the Jets organization had done that.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:59 AM
That NYT’s opinion piece on Tiger and athletes in general was really good.
Re: Wisky-Miami
Good game. Wisky brought the pain on defense and ran Clay well. They could be a force next year in the B10. I don’t think their d-line is as good as Miami made it, but they certainly gave it to Da U. That game was not nearly as close as the score indicated.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:59 AM
Phillip Rivers. Boom.
December 30th, 2009 at 8:59 AM
The hype was all from TWWL and everyone ate it up. People were calling for an 0-4 start through the early gauntlet and then TWWL saw the ratings from the F$U game and the Thrusday night Ga Tech game and began hyping the team and Jacory. He is a guy who marches to the beat of his own drum so he is going to be hyped(and hated) because he plays at Miami.
Wisky does deserve credit. I think playing that game Dec. 5 was a good move on their part so the layoff was not as long, more Big Ten teams should consider that.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:01 AM
Sad night coming up, last time to see SUUUUUUH as a Husker.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:01 AM
at the risk of sounding like a homer, i believe christian ponder might have something to say with that.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:02 AM
He has the tools to be really good, but he gets too greedy with his throws and fails to check down at times. I do like how he keeps his eyes downfield when he breaks out of the pocket, but he does try and get too much too often. He’s only a sophomore, so he should get better with that aspect. I still think he can be a Heisman finalist next year.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:03 AM
Nice to see Mr. Jablomey out and about–my college-years alias lives!
December 30th, 2009 at 9:04 AM
Very sad. What is even more sad is that he’ll probably dominate and watch Nebraska’s offense shit the bed again. I love how so many idiot NEB fans are assuming this will be an easy win because of the Texas game. I guess they didn’t watch the B12 title game when NEB was on offense. We could field an offense from commenters on this site that would scare people more than NEB’s (and no, I am not joking at all).
December 30th, 2009 at 9:05 AM
The Marissa miller “iPod” picture is by far her best
December 30th, 2009 at 9:05 AM
been hearing Nebraska is the ‘lock of the year’ pick tonight. i have loaded up. been battered all bowl season.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:06 AM
Absolutely, and the conference is moving in that direction. Starting this year they will now have a bye and play conference games the Sat after thanksgiving.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:07 AM
Big week for Heywood.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:07 AM
You’re right gods, another summer to work with Whipple will help him. He does hold the ball too much and fails to hit the check downs. QB is not the position I’m worried about for next year, it is our shotty O-line. Fox is gone and even with two big line recruits coming in, not feeling good about the protection.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:10 AM
Green is going get some play. I’m hopeful that he can break some running plays. Sadly, there aren’t (m)any other offensive players that I have faith in.
How disappointing has Helu been? I sure thought he’d have a better year.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:10 AM
Really? I don’t know much about Arizona’s offense, but I know that their defense could suck donkey dick and still shit down Nebraska. Maybe I’m too deep into the forest to see the trees, but I would be pleasently shocked in NEB rolled in this game.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:13 AM
easy, bsanders, don’t get their hopes up.
I’m just shocked at how the organization, which has up to this point has seemed classy and respectful of it’s fans, treating them like shit.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:13 AM
Remember Vince Young’s poor showing in the 2006 Rose Bowl? 5 week layoff.
/facts are facts
December 30th, 2009 at 9:14 AM
I don’t think he’s been disappointing at all to be honest. He has played hurt, but look at what he did against VT and OU. No one on the outside worries any defense, both Qbs are total crap so teams can stack the box and make him run into 8 and 9 guys. As for Green playing? I hope you’re right, but I’ve heard he will play before and he gets one, maybe two series. He should get at least 5 series, but I doubt he will.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:15 AM
national championship game after 5 weeks > whatever BS bowl miami played in
December 30th, 2009 at 9:15 AM
You know TBL was just baiting us with that line clown. That was code for “I stupidly bet Miami so it must be someone else’s fault I lost.”
December 30th, 2009 at 9:18 AM
I will give TBL some backup on this one. You can’t compare the national title game with some random Dec bowl (or any bowl, really). It is its own unique game for obvious reasons. Although Miami didn’t lose because of the layoff, they lost because Wisky played very out of their minds on defense. They looked pretty damn good I thought.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:18 AM
The layoff had nothing to do with it. I’ve watched every snap of U football this year and sometimes Harris comes out and plays like ass. Hence the 18 picks this year. It’s like his fade, sometimes he is the cool design, and other times he is just plain flat top. If he can become consistent and less apt to lobbing meatballs down the field then and only then will he be able to take his pimp cup to NYC.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:19 AM
The best is Polian going on the NFL network last night to explain they went all out in that Jaguars game because the regular season winning streak and most regular season wins in a decade were very important records for them. But yet going undefeated was overrated.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:20 AM
If we had this magical playoff thingy, would we still have other bowl games? If so, would there still be a few weeks in between the end of the regular season and the bowl game? Would Miami and Wisconsin still end up in a similar situation after this past season? I think the answers to all of those questions is yes.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:20 AM
Harris is one inconsistent mofo, it had nothing to do with the layoff. That’s just who he is.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:20 AM
Well if clown can think of 1 example off the top of his head, than that must prove a trend.
/VY (v. 2006) >>>> Jacoby Harris (v. 2009)
//I think VY is more the exception rather than the rule.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:22 AM
Remember Vince Young’s poor showing in the 2006 Rose Bowl? 5 week layoff.
USC’s defense had a poor showing that day.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:22 AM
@cleet- where have you been all these years? you are on top of your game early
December 30th, 2009 at 9:23 AM
people who talk about any game being meaningless, are people who didn’t earn a varsity jacket in sports, but for the school newspaper.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:24 AM
Lurking in the shadows Irish. It is going to be a long wait until next season.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:25 AM
Youre just jealous that the colts will be presented trophies and rings and go down in history for those meaningless records.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:25 AM
@CJ: i didn’t see that happen, but i read about it. blew me away.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:26 AM
If anyone read what Miami was saying before the game, they believed this game was setting the tone for next year and they really wanted to win it. Blaming them shitting the bed on layoffs and “meaningless” bowl games is a cop out or the move of a gambler who came out on the wrong side.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:26 AM
/Burned, fire roasted.
//Has lotsa varsity letters but didn’t by that assy jacket to put ‘em on.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:26 AM
PJ Daniels had 309 yards rushing in the 2004 Humanitarian Bowl. Even after his 5 week layoff, he must’ve been extra motivated because it was a January bowl.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:26 AM
JaMarcus Russell? Vince Young in the 2005 Rose Bowl? Here’s a random bowl performance for you: Taylor Bennett in the 2007 Gator Bowl. 326 yards passing and 3 TDs in his first start of the season.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:26 AM
Miami is going to be very very good next season. this team is extremely young. I absolutely believe the cold weather factored into last night.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:27 AM
Miami Ohio state is gonna be a great game next season…really looking forward to it
December 30th, 2009 at 9:29 AM
you wore the snobby sweater instead.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:29 AM
So the winning teams in these bowl games we just playing less unmotivated then the losers??
December 30th, 2009 at 9:30 AM
I agree the cold did factor to into it but I think more of the problem was after the kick off those kids expected Wisky to just lay down and when they didn’t Miami had no come back. The best thing for Miami last night was Wisky kicking that field goal cause it gave Miami a chance to get out from the shadow of their own end zone. Miami will be good next year but will need much better line play and play calling Whipple gets in his own head sometimes.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:30 AM
O-line is going to be an issue, and if the o-line is an issue, everyting on offense is an issue.
I had a varsity jacket in athletics, and though the games are never meaningless in college, there are certainly some that take on more meaning. Last night’s game was certainly not meaningless though. Each team wanted 10 wins and each team knows that a strong bowl performence can mean a higher ranking in the stupid ass preseason polls and those can greatly affect how your season plays out.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:31 AM
yes.
/J-Mac
December 30th, 2009 at 9:32 AM
Check that. I had a letter to put on a jacket. I never actually had the jacket as I thought they were ghey as fuck.
/No offense to those who liked them
December 30th, 2009 at 9:32 AM
Miami Ohio state is gonna be a great game next season…really looking forward to it
thinking about making the trip up to the shoe. drive the minivan with the flames on the side and the D Howard fathead on the back. prob should start looking at tickets soon
December 30th, 2009 at 9:33 AM
Miz: The press conference with Kiffin turned me into a believer. I think you guys may have landed a star coach in college. He just needs to keep his nose clean.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:34 AM
Thats what I’ve heard about Miami for 4 straight years. At some point dont all those young kids get older?
I would pay money for a picture of that, awesome.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:34 AM
Irish – That would be a great trip not sure how tough it will be for tickets I was looking to make the trip out to the Pitt game, always seemed easier to get tickets to those games.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:34 AM
The Terence Newman first time on a roller coaster footage, in the funniest moments, is outstanding! That roller coaster doesn’t even look fast.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:34 AM
the varsity letter thing was said in jest, gods.
but these games impact recruiting, and impacts players leaving for the draft, and it is the last game for some players careers. this is the case for all bowl games. there is always motivation. now, do some kids not prepare as well for a bowl game because of who they might be playing (bammer vs utah comes to mind)? such as studying game film, and going over assignments outside of practice. certainly, but that can be said for the regular season as well.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:35 AM
They now have a QB, something they have not had in that time.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:35 AM
schools still have varsity jackets? I thought America had moved on from that crap? I can’t think of a single highschool in my area that had them. The only clothing that set you apart from the masses was a shirt and tie for away games, and the varsity and jv football teams wore their practice jersey on home game days (and looked like jackasses doing it).
December 30th, 2009 at 9:36 AM
didn’t wager on the game.
the games aren’t meaningless! pride! letter jackets!
/can’t stop laughing
//look up “motivation”
December 30th, 2009 at 9:37 AM
Huh? You have to be joking. When Shannon took over nobody thought they would be good and they went 5-7. Last year they were not ranked for the whole season and went 7-6 with 22 of their two-deep as freshman. They were unranked coming into this year.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:38 AM
well, those other young kids that got older weren’t good players, these ones are very talented and it showed in their improved play this year. they have steadily been better the last couple years.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:38 AM
awesome. I’m jealous you got to go. was the room pretty packed? good questions/answers?
December 30th, 2009 at 9:39 AM
Props for linking this story TBL. What happened yesterday was beyond messed up… it hits way too close to home.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:40 AM
Eagle Bank Bowl attendance: allegedly 23000. if you saw 1 play on TV (i saw 3), then you know that number is massively inflated. they’d have been lucky to had 10000.
ucla kids played in front of louder crowds in high school
mo-tiv-ation – clap, clap, clap, clap, clap
December 30th, 2009 at 9:40 AM
I was told that we were to temper the Lane Kiffin love. Is that still the directive, or is it ok to call him a good coach now?
December 30th, 2009 at 9:41 AM
I don’t think Miami losing and Harris stinking it up is any indication of how good or bad they will be next year. I blame the media for prematurely raising expectations and announcing The U being back and Harris a Heisman contender after only TWO games.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:42 AM
LSU and PSU are playing on the same already shitty sod that they tore up aven more.
And since we’re throwing out flukey bowl performances: Tony Temple. Dude sucked for 4 years and ran for like 300 in the Cotton Bowl
December 30th, 2009 at 9:42 AM
63% of fans polled want a playoff
http://blogs.ajc.com/barnhart-college-football/
i really, really hope this blog is around in 2012 when it happens.
this is a fight the internet is going to win. the greedy suits will find a way to profit from the 16-team playoff.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:43 AM
I can’t find anything humorous unless you’re referring to your ability to constantly be a college football rebel rouser. that’s definitely getting funnier and funnier.
motivation – the activation or energization of goal-oriented behavior.
I don’t see your point with motivation. I think winning the game is the obvious goal.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:43 AM
how does the crowd size correlate to players motivation? feel free to explain this.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:43 AM
So I know we give you some crap sometimes TBL, but what are you saying here. The game shouldn’t have been played at all? That the outcome has zero meaning? That this should have been a playoff game? I dont even know at this point.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:43 AM
They aren’t meaningless dude. You need to not look at this from a pro angle. In college, when you know, for a fact, that you only have a finite amount of time to play for your school, you go all out. As Sparty said, there are some exceptions in bowl games, but those are few and far between. I think you see these bowl games as the equivalent to a team like Indy who has nothing to play for this week, but it’s not like that at all.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:44 AM
put me in the 63%, I want one too. But I sure as hell can’t figure out how it makes CENTS right now.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:44 AM
You’re getting a plus one. That will be the playoff. Book it.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:45 AM
I prefer you all keep it tempered. that way, he gets to keep the “crazy like a fox” perception.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:46 AM
aren’t you too busy hording canned goods and ammo for the apocalypse in 2012 to worry about the playoff that’s not going to happen in 2012?
December 30th, 2009 at 9:46 AM
draft tape for nfl scouts… meaningless!
December 30th, 2009 at 9:47 AM
they did when i was in high school back in the 90s. you couldn’t go to a movie theater on a saturday night and not identify 10 different schools.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:47 AM
The u/osu tickets will be availabe but be ready to drop some $$$$$
December 30th, 2009 at 9:48 AM
Why then, did a UCLA team that played in front of bigger crowds in HS not lay down after being down 21-10 at halftime?
He is just very ingaging, funny and he knows his shit. Also, every answer (whether the question was about recruiting or not) came back to recruiting. Dude knows what he is doing. I also loved how he talked about his offense and how they make it user-friendly. They way I see it, he made Crompton look awesome and he sucks dick. He can’t be bad with that on the resume.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:48 AM
dammit, I got sucked in too. I even saw it coming.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:48 AM
the game is meaningless, it isn’t for the BCS title.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:50 AM
Yeah, but OSU is just scheduling themselves a championship, as per usual.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:50 AM
That shoudl be engaging
December 30th, 2009 at 9:51 AM
Re: Miami- Wisconsin
Wisky was an extremely underrated team this year in the Big 10. Having said that, I thought Miami was going to be way to fast for them. They definitely looked ready to play last night in the early going. Tolzien made passes when he had too. Badgers took advantage of their strentgh: big line, big back. Dominated time of possession 2-1.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:51 AM
It is just as I imagined it.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:51 AM
Fuck me. I need an editor for my comments.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:51 AM
TBL, did you read the particulars of this poll? Only half of the 1,900 adults polled identified themselves as “very interested” or “somewhat interested” in college football.
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=4779279
December 30th, 2009 at 9:51 AM
bingo. it’s all about the benjamins.
while we’re at it with “fans” trying to change a game they don’t passionately follow, anyone want to join me in my crusade to change the nba for the better?
i don’t follow the sport, but damnit, get rid of the 24-second shot clock, start calling traveling and for god sakes knock off that piped in racket during play.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:52 AM
UCLA DID lay down, GotG. it’s just that Temple was laying down even more. duh!!
Crompton’s stats the final 8 games of this season in comparison with the first 4 this year and all of last year makes the dude look like a different guy with the same name. it really was an impressive turnaround.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:52 AM
Jesus, man… tough break this morning.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:52 AM
ssshhhh! that does nothing for pageviews. :^)
December 30th, 2009 at 9:52 AM
Oh, and put me down for a HS varsity jacket. Leather sleeves and all.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:53 AM
Irish – That would be a great trip not sure how tough it will be for tickets I was looking to make the trip out to the Pitt game, always seemed easier to get tickets to those games
very true Ibis
I would pay money for a picture of that, awesome
how much you got coop?
December 30th, 2009 at 9:53 AM
Except when they tried to get too cute with the end arounds with the TE.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:54 AM
CGB IN THE HOUSE!!!!
December 30th, 2009 at 9:55 AM
Not really, Iowa/OSU destroyed them and they didnt play PSU.
My only currency is fake internet points, +3.82 for your trouble.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:55 AM
I read somehing, somewhere (link?) that Kiffin is the big winner in the Urban Meyer fiasco.
/dirty SEC recruiting is about to reach new heights
December 30th, 2009 at 9:56 AM
Jacoby Harris won’t be top 5 in the Heisman next year, as Yates pointed out, Clay will be. Not sure what game you were watching last night.
As for the run of the mill big ten game comment – You might want to learn something about time of possession, you dominate like Wisconsin did last night you win games.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:57 AM
laregly believed that kiffin and jimbo fisher will be able to take advantage of this mess more than any other program since those two pretty much recruit the same players as meyer does.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:57 AM
I wonder if TBL even read the Barnhart piece he linked:
December 30th, 2009 at 9:57 AM
He also left out that they thought it should be decided by a yearly 4-team playoff between Notre Dame, USC, Michigan, and The U.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:58 AM
You obviously didn’t watch the A&M game.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:58 AM
people who talk about any game being meaningless, are people who didn’t earn a varsity jacket in sports, but for the school newspaper.
this
December 30th, 2009 at 9:59 AM
that thought ran through my mind too after hearing the news.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:59 AM
lefty: TBL is just doing his part of stir up conversation on a slow holiday week. Nothing more, nothing less.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:59 AM
My only currency is fake internet points, +3.82 for your trouble
Its not true. I bet you could picture that like Magglio Merkin said. clown said that is probably what i drive a long time ago

if there must be a playoff or our republic will crumble — hasn’t been proven to me yet — just go back to the old system (which SUCKED monkey balls far worse than the bcs) and take the winners of the four bcs games and have a four-game playoff.
it’s really not that difficult.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:02 AM
I really could give two balls about the Heisman trophy. Saying dominating TOP wins games is like saying if you turn the ball over 5 times, you will probably lose. If Miami was not 2-11 on 3rd down and their line was not sucking, the TOP would not have been what it was. I don’t see how it relates anyway to the run of the mill comment anyway. That’s what Wisc. did, they ran the ball and dominated TOP, which is what I said, so you confirmed what I said and I just confirmed what you said so what needs to be learned?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:02 AM
Do you really want to play for a coach who will be dead before you go pro?
/sick, but believable
December 30th, 2009 at 10:03 AM
i mean, four-team playoff.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:04 AM
Wisconsin was beating Iowa at halftime. Iowa made adjustments and Tolzien played like crap. The Ohio State game was embarrassing, but for what its worth, OSU scored 21 points on def/special teams. Wisky wasn’t THAT bad this year.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:04 AM
isn’t that what people have been saying for (pick the years) about joepa and bowden?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:04 AM
There’s one thing we can probably agree on. When there is a playoff added to the bowl system, Jerry Jones will make sure the championship game is played in his stadium.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:05 AM
winning 10 games in Div 1-A is not easy. they were good this season.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:05 AM
/dirty SEC recruiting is about to reach new heights
It’s still not as dirty as all of college basketball recruiting.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:06 AM
I think the space-time continuum is about to be screwed up.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:08 AM
Especially when the two of your 3 losses were to teams in BCS schools. Word up Sparty.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:10 AM
Well Bowden just got fired and PSU had a stretch of 5 years where they averaged 5 wins a year, so yeah, it works.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:10 AM
It’s ok miz, I dumped a few banana peels in Mr. Fusion before typing that so the capacitor should be all set.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:10 AM
Not necessarily true. If Nebraska wins tonight, they will have beaten 7-5 Missouri, 7-5 Oklahoma and 8-5 Arizona. Nebraska would have a very soft 10-win season if that pans out.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:12 AM
What up, Jersey? Nice to see you back.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:13 AM
of course i read the barnhart piece.
the ‘pageview’ argument is hysterical. some of you guys have blogs, and you know what drives pageviews … it ain’t some rinky dink poll.
about 1% of the readers who visit this site leave comments; maybe 5% read the comments.
come on, its nearly 2010, get with the program! if i wanted pageviews, i’d do galleries daily like fanhouse and deadspin are doing. maybe in 2010.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:13 AM
What up ill. Glad to be back. There was some post on rap lyrics and Tracy McGrady yesterday and I couldn’t keep it in my pants.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:13 AM
Second’d
December 30th, 2009 at 10:14 AM
Should I send a cover sheet with my resume?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:14 AM
maybe 50% read the comments
there ya go
December 30th, 2009 at 10:15 AM
We have our 6 year streak of 10+ wins to play for against Tennessee. I don’t think that’s going to be enough of a motivation unfortunately.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:16 AM
so if they lose tonight, they don’t have 10 wins and that proves that it is still hard to win 10 games. even if they do win 10, that still remains true. they haven’t won 10 since 2003.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:18 AM
There was some post on rap lyrics and Tracy McGrady yesterday and I couldn’t keep it in my pants.
Even with them tight ass wranglers you sportin’?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:19 AM
va tech has an excellent program, that is something to be proud of. this is why beamer is never truly in the doghouse.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:19 AM
You have any confidence about Stinespring going up against Monte with weeks to prepare cgb?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:20 AM
I still think it was to drive conversation on a slow day. That’s why you dropped it in the comments and didn’t do a one-liner. If you wanted pageviews, you would have made it a seperate post instead of giving it to us 1% to fight over.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:21 AM
I was at work, so it was the club monaco pleated pants.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:23 AM
TBL is a member of the other half…the Badgers looked motivated last night, fuck this noise
December 30th, 2009 at 10:23 AM
@cleet – None at all. For every extra day they both have to prepare it’s just another day Monte has to shut down Stinespring.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:25 AM
cgb – I see you are employing the reverse-jinx to the max for the Peach Bowl.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:26 AM
just the fact that this game is in the Georgia Dome scares the crap out of me. Tennessee plays terrible in that hellhole more often than not.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:28 AM
Unfortunately for VT, the Georgia Dome is in Atlanta. They’re sporting a solid 0-2 mark in ATL so far this year.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:28 AM
miz – I really think you guys will win like a 20-17 game. We’ve done real well in Atlanta this year, so that bit of bad fortune has me worried too.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:29 AM
I still think Va-Tech Beamer-balls their way to victory, I don’t trust Crompton even if he has been playing better. Hokie run defense is stout enough. Maybe I am just hoping this happens, ACC could really use this win.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:31 AM
No shit.
/fuck I hope we beat Iowa
December 30th, 2009 at 10:31 AM
Jacory Harris is a fraudy mcfrauderson. That is all.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:33 AM
I’m on Tenn, but it’s more outta hatred for VT than logical game analysis.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:34 AM
how is that 2008 offensive rookie of the year doing?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:34 AM
According to what standards? A sophmore starting for the first time under a new system or the one TWWl tried to feed you?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:34 AM
@TBL
i thought when you got back from ESPN you mentioned how surprised you were about how many people actually read the comments section?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:35 AM
Love you too Ill!
December 30th, 2009 at 10:38 AM
Sorry, cgb. It’s not you, it’s me.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:39 AM
just the fact that this game is in the Georgia Dome scares the crap out of me. Tennessee plays terrible in that hellhole more often than not.
Only bad part about going. Indoor football sucks ass.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:40 AM
cgb – which team is favored? I have purposely avoided any previews or analysis to keep from getting my hopes up.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:42 AM
blazers – I still wish I was going though.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:45 AM
yeah, Im still pumped to be going. it should be interesting…..and Im sure ATL will be crazy for NYE
December 30th, 2009 at 10:47 AM
marissa miller makes my pants tighten up.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:48 AM
I got my eye on you Miz, Roeth too.
Why do so many terrorists have engineering degrees?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:48 AM
@miz – I believe we’re favored by six. I haven’t read too much about the game either. My two cents: I think it will be very entertaining to watch if you like defense.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:48 AM
Here ya go Miz: Tyrod’s run abilty is introduced to Mr Berry and the SEC SPPEEEEEEEED, Kiffin doesn’t allow Cromp daddy to lose the game for him and runs a lot and then some more with a bootleg mixed in there somewhere, Beamer ball blocks punt and scores off the recovery, Tenn has a chance to win at the end but the FG is blocked, of course.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:51 AM
ill – did you just take the TN-Bammer game recap and change the names?
December 30th, 2009 at 10:53 AM
no joke, terrorists had my celly ringing off the hook last spring while I was unemployed. I didn’t want to be too picky, but all of their health insurance benefits were shit.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:55 AM
cgb – I would think VT is favored…top-15 team with 9 wins vs. an unranked team with 7 wins. on paper, it looks obvious.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:55 AM
ill – did you just take the TN-Bammer game recap and change the names?
With the exception of “Tenn has a chance to win” part.
December 30th, 2009 at 10:57 AM
hahahaha, I always laugh at the evil empires in the Bond movies. I mean I know the pay is good but the hours suck and the workplace is hazardous. OSHA would have a field day.
December 30th, 2009 at 11:01 AM
ill – you watched that game, right? you know, the part about the winning field goal attempt being blocked…cause that kinda happened.
December 30th, 2009 at 11:01 AM
No, I’ve watched about 5 MIA games this year (and the wwl loves jacory). Unless Jacory has 13 seconds to find a wide open receiver he panics and is inaccurate. His line hurt him again last night, but he also ran into quite a few of those sacks.
December 30th, 2009 at 11:06 AM
He’s widly inconsistent, as was stated before he has good days and bad days. Most college QBs struggle when presured. Aside from WWL hyping him I still don’t understand how he is a “fraud”.
December 30th, 2009 at 11:12 AM
ill – you watched that game, right? you know, the part about the winning field goal attempt being blocked…cause that kinda happened.
They did? Really? I couldn’t detect the late drama unfold thru gamecast…
December 30th, 2009 at 11:20 AM
Mainly because MIA fans (more than a few friends that are) and the media, even outside wwl, claim he’s a solid contender for Heisman next year and will bring the program back to the glory days. I don’t see that at all.
December 30th, 2009 at 11:34 AM
MATT I agree that most Miami fans are delusional. I think if he limits mistakes he could be a QB on a title team. FFS Tee Martin, Josh Huepel, and Matt Flynn did it. I understand your arguement from the standpoint that fans and the media overhype him but “fraud” implies he is not what he is. He led Miami to a 9-4 record and threw a lot of TDs and lots of INTS, that’s what he is.
December 30th, 2009 at 11:36 AM
Also not mentioned Harris had a hurt throwing thumb(from the UNC game), but like was mentioned the line was awful, Fox was missed. As much as Wisky dominated the game, Miami still had a chance to win late.
Conrats to Wisky on being the Nobody Cares Bowl Champs.
December 30th, 2009 at 11:56 AM
I’m not reading all the comments, but another fucking pathetic showing by the Hurricanes. Getting physically dominated and outplayed by a physically inferior team. Pathetic. I’m so sick of Randy Shannon having his team not show up for games. That’s 0 for 2 in bowl games now. They should beat Wisconsin by two touchdowns.
