I used to be a huge Magic fan in the early 90’s Shaq had went there from LSU, and I loved Penny Hardaway at Memphis St. I think if he played during this “less touchy defense” era of the NBA, he would have thrived. Better than D-Rose, Tyreke Evans, or any other combo guard of this era.

He can absolutely help. Still remember what a monster he was against the Lakers in a few games – he was getting the foul line, getting rebounds, and playing Ok defense. He rebounds well for his limited minutes. I think the Cavs are the team to beat right now. I still think the Lakers are going to be one tough out though once they get everyone healthy playing together for more than a few games (they really haven’t had that all year).

Hill was better, but I don’t know that he ever had the nose to score that ET does. Hill handled the ball better and was a better on the ball defender.
I equate Turner’s Association game to Tayshaun more than Grant. Although GHill isn’t a bad comparison either. He does need to work on his jumper (from 19, not necessarily from 3 point range) to become a good scorer at the next level.

Basing it on college, Turner is a better rebounder, Hill a better outside shooter. Either way, Turner’s game will translate very well into the NBA. His footwork is excellent – terrific spin moves for a guy his size. He plays so well in space, and in the NBA, that’s what you get. He’ll also become a very good defender over time – his hands a very good right now, just fouls too often, which is a product of his youth.

Thinking more of the way that they can play bigger than they are because of the long arms. You’re right that Turner’s one on one game is better than Tayshaun. As shaky as Turner’s handles are occasionally, Tayshaun’s were/are worse. However, Tayshaun could shoot it better from the outside.

Spoon won’t really play much next year.
Sully would start for OSU right now and would average a double double. The guy is a monster on the boards, and has dominated every big name guy in his class in either AAU or actual HS ball. The guy puts up 30/15 with little problem in those AAU showcase games. Oak Hill, a top 10 team in the country, put two guys on him wherever he went, that’s how good he is – they didn’t do that for LeBron in any of the three times they played him.
DaShaun Thomas out of Indy might seriously even be better..and I’m guessing will start at the 4 next year as Thad goes back to the four out one in.

He’s actually from Fort Wayne. Bishop Luers. 2A school. Back-to-back state titles. Probably going to win three in a row come late March.
Thomas is also third on the state’s all-time scoring list. If he averages about 31 ppg and the team makes a deep postseason run, he’ll pass that fag Damon Bailey and his asterik record (he played against tiny white farm boys in SW Indiana, Thomas plays in one of the state’s best conferences).

Sully is the bomb. Thomas is damn good too. They will both start next year or at least play 30 minutes a game. Lauderdale will be better playing in spurts with his physical play and shot blocking.
Ohio State’s problem next year is at point guard. They have a freshman coming in that’s played AAU ball with Sully and group. He HAS to be good or they will disappoint because the rest of the team screams Final 4. Lighty, Buford and Diebler will all be back and be solid contributors, which is needed with all the youngsters coming in.

Luers is not as good as last year. They lost two guys who were VERY good. One is playing CB at IU. But they are so fucking quick. They’ve got two other guys – both juniors – who will probably play Division I sports. One basketball, the other football. The rest of the team is young. I wouldn’t say they suck because, well, they hang with (and mostly beat) every 4A and 5A team they play. I’ll give them a pass against Northland, who’s No. 1 in the entire country.
Indiana’s class system has its flaws. Luers dominates 2A because its battle-tested with 4A and 5A teams in its conference, and it plays ridiculous out of conference games such as Northland.

Compared to Sully, Thomas and Seibert he does suck. But he’s not going to be asked to do a whole lot. Go in, hustle, and shoot 45% from three. He’ll be fine, and he’s exactly the kind of player OSU needs. Someone who can develop over 4 years and be a team leader, but never a star.
2010 is a banner year for Ohio HS prospects. So much freaking talent in this class. Sully, Payne, Staten, Seibert, G. Johnson, Spoon, Craft…even down to lesser known players like McKenzie going to Xavier and Ralph Hill going to Dayton, both of whom would easily be in the state top 10 in a normal year.

Grindhouse was kind of a disappointment. Terror Planet was really great, but Death Proof was just horrible. It was all just talking,
Feel the opposite. Rodriguez’s effort was eh and I loved Death Proof. I like people talking in my Tarantino. Plus best Kurt Russell performance since Dark Blue and before that… God, Big Trouble probably.

I was not expecting much from Rodriguez. He’s one of those guys who literally has to do EVERYTHING- write, direct, produce, music, edit, special effects, cinematography, etc. and it shows because a lot of times his movies just look cheesy as a result instead of just letting someone else do it and concentrating on directing. So Terror Planet I was really surprised by.
I love Tarantino, but Death Proof was just all talk. Everyone just sits around for an hour, then a car chase for 10 minutes, then another hour of just talking, then another car chase. The dialogue was just not good enough to support that much talking. It worked in pulp fiction, not in this case. But then again the version I saw was his extended version, so maybe the shorter version without so much dialogue I would of liked better.

Letterman’s show is so far beyond hack at this point. He’s done 30 stale minutes on the tonight show tonight, with nothing we haven’t heard before. (is this a rerun? even if it is, it’s awful). The Top 10 was something that looked like it was thrown together five minutes before airing.
