Tony Kornheiser Does Not Seem to Approve of Hannah Storm’s “Go-Go Boots” and “Very Very Tight Shirt”
ESPN, Media Gossip/Musings February 18th. 2010, 12:30pm
Here’s what Tony Kornheiser said on his radio show two days ago (first three minutes) about Hannah Storm’s Sportscenter outfit: “Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today. She’s got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt … way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now.” [She's 47.] “She’s got on her typically very, very tight shirt. She looks like she has sausage casing wrapping around her upper body … I know she’s very good, and I’m not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won’t … but Hannah Storm … come on now! Stop! What are you doing? … She’s what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point.” Note: This photo may or may not be the exact same outfit Kornheiser was describing. [TK Show ESPN 980]

Could be worse, it could be Andrea Kramer.

I wonder if they go for Stoudamier today, and then have enough for another full boat FA this offseason.
/don’t f’this up garpax!

She’s what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point.
She’s a prostitute he can’t get it up for?
Also, does SportsCenter not have some type of “wardrobe provided by” deal? I’m kind of surprised they wear the same outfit multiple times.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:34 PM
couple of things:
1) honest to god i don’t think i’ve ever seen storm on BSPN. i try to avoid sportscenter like the ebola virus and, shockingly, i am still employed.
2) of all the chicks in tv sports/news to do cartwheels over, why her? why not jenn brown for example? or charissa thompson? or stacy dales? or even michelle beisner?
is bspn that devoid of female talent that storm — i have nothing against her — is driving so many to, um, well, dance with themselves?
February 18th, 2010 at 12:34 PM
Note: Hannah Storm looks damn good for 47.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:36 PM
i’d bang her. and in case anyone was wondering who holden caulfield is it is the main character in the catcher in the rye. kornheiser needs to shut his piehole.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:36 PM
Seriously. Had no idea she was that old.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:36 PM

I think the point is Tony is angry that elderly women are dressing this way. He’s fine with the young selling sex.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:36 PM
Yeah, I’d do it
February 18th, 2010 at 12:37 PM
I think Magglio went apeshit about this. Pretty funny.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:37 PM
Totally agree.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:37 PM
kornheiser’s radio show really is superior. seriously.

TST, kornheiser aside, the blogosphere in general is infatuated with hannah storm. this fixation has escaped me.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:40 PM
i dont see them going after stoudemire…and if the pick is a first rounder for this year they have 2 first rounders in the draft that they can trade up with or just take what they need.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:40 PM
I don’t think women should have to wear nun outfits to look professional. You can be professional and sexy.
That said, I don’t understand why our buddy Josh has to wear a suit and tie while they seem to like female anchors looking like they came straight in from a night club. Probably catering to their audience, but it seems incongruous.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:42 PM

February 18th, 2010 at 12:43 PM
Its because every girl’s crazy bout a sharp dressed man.
But seriously, there isnt anything a man can wear that would sexier than a suit and tie. Insert Tom Brady in a speedo joke here.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:43 PM
I don’t think women should have to wear nun outfits to look professional. You can be professional and sexy.
True, but that outfit on Hannah Storm is like when you see an eighty year old woman with a head of jet black hair. This is frightening and confusing.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:43 PM
we get it already, you’re the smartest guy in the room.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:43 PM
I’ve been ragging on Hannah Storm for her outfits almost the entire time she’s been on the AM SC. I haven’t watched in several months (new job), but when I did, she was dressed like a goddamn skank. Stop showing your tits, and stop wearing skirts and fuck me boots. It’s gross.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:44 PM

Also, a small plane crashed into a building in Austin. Apparently the pilot set his house on fire before doing.

jimmy, I was taking a jab at GotG. Scroll through the NBA trade thread from this morning. It was a nice little fun religious debate we all had today.

Nah. Basically GotG made a remark about seeing ashes in the form of a cross on someone’s forehead yesterday and others took umbrage with it.
At the end of the debate we all decided to meet for brunch this Sunday.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:51 PM
This isn’t the first time he’s said something about what she has been wearing. He also has slammed Kathy Lee Gifford and the other chick (and others) on the 4th hour of The Today Show. That is almost daily. If you listen regularly (as I do) those types of “slams” or comments aren’t unusual.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:52 PM
what’s his name?
February 18th, 2010 at 12:52 PM
mrejr, i agree. stoudemire plays no D, but he’d look good with martz coaching

That would be good too.
Can’t believe they were able to get rid of Salmons.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:53 PM
Cairo kid – Never said it was unusual. Surprising, perhaps, for him to take a shot at someone who is on ESPN a lot. Bill Simmons, for instance, isn’t allowed to do the same thing.

this is all so laughable to me i don’t know where to begin.
first off, the olympics, specifically the winter olympics (which i have not watched three seconds of) is sports for people who don’t like sports, i.e. hausfraus stuck in the house in snowbound kansas.
to them, this is little more than a glorified two-week rendition of “as the world turns” that was taped a month ago. it means nothing to them.
and, god forbid, if someone is that worked up to watch live snowboard jumping or biathlon (isn’t that the skiing and shooting the rifle event?), there are live streaming feeds that can be found on the internet.
last night on twitter someone was so outraged at TBL for posting results they wanted to ram their plane into the TBL Tower.
oh, wait.
February 18th, 2010 at 12:54 PM
I’m not complaining, I’m saying Kornheiser seems to be unaware that this is par for the course in every workplace
February 18th, 2010 at 12:54 PM
Seriously if I worked in a place where suits and ties were standard, I’d probably have to wear more skirts and pant suits, noooo thank you.

February 18th, 2010 at 12:58 PM

I thought it was Jake Gyllenhall’s character in “The Good Girl.”

I don’t understand why people who don’t enjoy the Olympics feel compelled to tear it down. Every four years I want to watch who can throw a rock the furthest, who can ski down a mountain the fastest, etc. I get sucked into watching Antique Roadshow and JCVD movies every couple months, so why is getting sucked into the Olympics every four years so ridiculous? Watch, don’t watch, I don’t care, but “too cool for Olympics” guy always has to throw jabs.

the one where he talks in the 3rd person?
February 18th, 2010 at 1:01 PM
@TBL
I didn’t mean to imply that is what you meant. I know sometimes he’ll even say he shouldn’t be talking about people on ESPN, but he’ll start going on about something. Sometimes I don’t think he even cares though. He’s said far worse things about other people, hence “Death Star Radio” as they like to call it. Entertaining either way whenever he goes on those type of rants about people.
February 18th, 2010 at 1:01 PM

there’s no way he goes into the masters unprepared, is therE?
February 18th, 2010 at 1:09 PM
I probably could have come up with that statement in about 20 minutes. Why would anyone but Tiger and his handlers have a copy of the statement he has prepared for tomorrow? Do you really think any of them are about to spill the beans on a Tiger-related anything?
February 18th, 2010 at 1:09 PM

remember when espn2 first came on? they wore no ties and leather jackets to prove it was an alternative. always weird to me that of all folks, people covering sports would wear business attire. that was one of the perks of being a sportswriter–no ties, even tho the news guys had to
February 18th, 2010 at 1:17 PM
I don’t know. Every single thing about this entire Tiger episode has been highly guarded on his end. A move like this doesn’t quite fit their mode of operation. Also, it’s not the statement that I expect from Tiger. I just don’t see him being quite so humble.
February 18th, 2010 at 1:17 PM

no. i applied for my last job in october and got called in january to interview. this was back in 05/06 tho. landcape is a bit different now, eh?
