Here’s our projections of the field of 65, with the last few teams remaining unchanged from this morning.
(no S-curve; in order)
1 Kansas, Kentucky, Syracuse, West Virginia
2 Duke, Ohio State, Kansas State, Georgetown
3 Villanova, Baylor, Tennessee, Temple
4 New Mexico, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Wisconsin

Last five in: California, Utah State, UTEP, Minnesota and Illinois
First three out: Florida, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State

After the jump, the media pundits, featuring Joe Lunardi’s curious mid-day swap:

Joe Lunardi, ESPN
Last three in: Minnesota, Utah State, Illinois
Last three out: Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, Florida

* Note: Until about 3 pm, Lunardi mysteriously had Virginia Tech in and Illinois out. Then, for a reason that never became clear, he made the switch after the ACC title game was complete. His wording was something like this [paraphrased], “a Georgia Tech win in the ACC title game would have helped the Hokies.” Question: How? Georgia Tech’s RPI was 33 prior to the game; it wasn’t going to vault the Jackets’ into the RPI Top 25. It had no impact on VT’s glaring weakness – non-conference strength-of-schedule. This random change is suspect; makes one wonder … does he have a connection in Indy who tipped him off?
