Nebraska Accepts Big Ten Invite, Let the Dismantling of the Big 12 Begin
1-liner, College Athletics, College Basketball, College Football June 9th. 2010, 4:16pmNebraska to the Big 10: “Nebraska regents have informally agreed to leave for the Big Ten. A formal announcement will come Friday,” reports Chip Brown of OrangeBloods.com. [UPDATE: ESPN is reporting it now, as well.] The Big 12 is about to fall apart. Missouri will probably be the next team to leave – that is, if Notre Dame doesn’t want to go to the Big Ten – and then the three Texas teams, the two Oklahomas and Colorado will scoot on over to the Pac-10. Will the Tigers be left out? In other college news, Jeremiah Masoli, the talented Oregon QB who led the Ducks to the Rose Bowl last season but was already suspended from the team next season after pleading guilty to burglary charges, was officially booted from the program today. The reason? “A Springfield police officer stopped his vehicle and cited him on charges of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana, driving with a suspended license and failure to stop at a driveway or a sidewalk.” [Register Guard]
