Brooke Hundley’s Lawsuit Against ESPN Should Be Fun
1-liner, Courts, Legal, ESPN June 14th. 2010, 5:15pmBrooke Hundley’s Suing ESPN: Last week, former ESPN production assistant Brooke Hundley filed a lawsuit against ESPN in Stamford Superior Court. (Back in November, we had a post guessing how much she’d sue for.) We went through the court documents this weekend, and here’s attempt to quickly sum them up: in late August, Hundley provided a written statement to ESPN HR with allegations against Phillips. In September, Hundley and Phillips tried to settle matters. Hundley’s lawsuit claims ESPN would close its “investigation” if Hundley retracted her previous allegations. That was done in September. Then the story broke in October. Shortly afterward, Hundley claims she was put on “paid administrative leave.” Three days later, Hundley says she was “terminated” for “misconduct.” Hundley is seeking “compensatory damages, including back pay, lost benefits, emotional distress, mental anguish, damage to her reputation; punitive damages; attorneys fees and costs.” [PR Newschannel; PDF here]
