Texas Staying in the Big 12 or Going to the Pac 10?
1-liner, College Football June 14th. 2010, 12:15pmTexas Staying?: Orange Bloods.com, a Texas website, claims that Texas is probably staying in the Big 12. But ESPN’s Joe Schad says a Texas move to the Pac-10 is imminent. If Texas stays, the league will survive without Colorado (Pac 10), Nebraska (Big Ten) and maybe Texas A&M (SEC?). Financially and competitively, it makes sense for Texas to stay. It seems like the league will do away with the league title game, which essentially means the Big 12 season will come down to Oklahoma vs. Texas, and the winner will got to the BCS (that’s been the case a lot this decade anyway, but now there’s zero hope of an upset in the league title game, like there nearly was last year). In terms of relevance, the league is now jockeying for the 5th spot, behind the SEC, Big Ten, Pac 10 and ACC. [Orange Bloods, Oklahoman]
