Landon Donovan Scores in Extra Time, USA Tops Algeria 1-0 to Advance in the World Cup

Landon Donovan scored an epic game-winning goal in extra time and in heart-stopping fashion, the USA has advanced to the round of 16 at the World Cup with a 1-0 win over Algeria. Ian Darke, the announcer, called it thusly: “Donovan has scored! Oh, can you believe this! Go, go, USA! Certainly through! Oh, it’s incredible! You could not write a script like this.” It already is one of our favorite moments in sports history. Video after the jump.
