It was quite a scene today at the “epicenter of patriotism” that is the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. Joey Chestnut successfully defended his title by consuming 54 hot dogs in 10 minutes. He was 15 dogs short of a new record, but he executed his game plan (eat lots of hot dogs) perfectly and got the win.

To help celebrate Chestnut’s 4th straight Mustard Yellow belt, here’s Joey Chestnut and Sheldon Souray’s wife Angelica Bridges. They were photographed at some random event last year and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show just what kind of groupies competitive eaters have. Also, Michelle Beadle eating hot dogs.
