Vincent Jackson Joins Santonio Holmes on Ben Roethlisberger on the Suspension List
1-liner, NFL July 13th. 2010, 2:45pmNFL: Vincent Jackson, the Chargers’ best receiver, will be suspended the first three games of next season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Jackson has two DUI convictions (2006, 2009). Jackson joins an impressive list of stars who will be start the season suspended (Santonio Holmes of the Jets, Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers). Clearly of this trio the Roethlisberger suspension hurts most; Jackson probably won’t be missed two badly against KC, Jacksonville and Seattle, three teams that didn’t make the playoffs last year and don’t figure to be major threats this year (though we are bullish on the Chiefs). The Jets will sorely miss Holmes against three potential AFC powers – Baltimore, Miami and New England. [Union Trib]
