Top draft pick Sam Bradford is working out his first contract with the Saint Louis Rams. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Bradford’s people are asking for between 45 and 50 million dollars guaranteed. That would be the richest contract in NFL history. Hopefully, its the last of its kind.

I understand that the career of an NFL player can be very short so these guys have to make as much money as they can, as early as they can. However, making a rookie on one of the worst teams in the league who will be lucky to throw as many touchdowns as picks this year the highest paid player in the league is ridiculous. Hopefully, the new collective bargaining agreement has a rookie wage scale to stop this nonsense.
