Mike Garrett’s “Ya-who?” Quote From 2006 is Much Funnier Four Years Later
College Football, Media Gossip/Musings July 21st. 2010, 11:45am
USC athletics direct Mike Garrett, in 2006: “When asked to comment on the report by Yahoo.com, [Garrett] said, ‘My comment is, Ya-who? Listen to them. They have their story. We have no comment.’” Four years later, and Garrett’s fired, primarily because of said Yahoo investigation. (Will Pete Carroll field any questions about Garrett’s ouster at his Wednesday book signing?) The new AD, former announcer Pat Haden (who’s getting the vacant Notre Dame announcer job?), is thought to bring integrity to the job, meaning Lane Kiffin won’t be able to cut nearly as many corners in Troy. And if you’re wondering, yes, Reggie Bush gets his own post. [NYT; photo via Getty]
