Reggie Bush vs. Vince Young, Circa 2005
1-liner, College Football July 21st. 2010, 12:45pmReggie Bush vs. Vince Young: So Reggie Bush lost his Heisman (he still has a copy of the trophy, though). Does Vince Young deserve the award? Of course not. This isn’t baseball, where there’s a direct correlation between cheating (PEDs, etc) and on-the-field results. Bush was the best player in the country that year. Young was clearly 2nd best (but he won the title, so he’s the victor, anyway). Remember VY’s incredible pump fake against Oklahoma State? Sweet. Bush seemingly had one of those every other week. This run against Fresno State was probably Bush’s best. His 2005 highlight package can be seen here. Bush, along with Mike Vick and Rocket Ismail, have to be the three most electrifying college football players in the last 25 years. Young was incredible, but not he wasn’t in that class.
