Nobody Watched the Final Round of the British Open
1-liner, Golf July 22nd. 2010, 12:30pmBritish Open: The first three rounds generated good TV ratings, but the Sunday numbers were abysmal. “ESPN earned a preliminary television rating of 2.1 for the final round of the British Open, the lowest for a final round in the event’s history.” Golf lovers will blame this on Louis Oosthuizen’s margin of victory; some will blame the lack of Tiger Woods; others will say that the Sunday leaderboard had a bunch of unrecognizable names/players who had never won a major before. It’s probably a combination of the three. [Golf.com via Bloomberg]
