David Kahn’s Latest Trade Worked … For a Few Minutes. Then the Jonny Flynn News Arrived
1-liner, NBA July 27th. 2010, 4:30pmMinnesota Timberwolves: The most clueless GM in the NBA (that’s David Kahn) trimmed payroll last night with a trade – Minnesota sent Ramon Sessions, center Ryan Hollins and a draft pick to the Cavs in exchange for Delonte West and Sebastian Telfair. West and Telfair are expected to be bought out of their deals. For a moment, it didn’t look like horrible deal .. and then hours if the deal was announced, Yahoo Sports reported that Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn needed hip surgery and would be out 3-4 months. So the team that drafted two point guards in the 2009 draft was suddenly down to … Luke Ridnour running the team for probably the first month of the season. Start thinking about the top pick in the 2011 NBA draft, Wolves fans. And spare us the free agency hopes … who’s going to go there? [Star Trib]
