Bryan Colangelo Bashes Chris Bosh
NBA July 28th. 2010, 5:00pm
Chris Bosh is just as bad a guy as LeBron James. The fact that he did the exact same thing to Toronto that LeBron did to Cleveland has been lost because of who each guy is and what each city means to the media. Raptors’ GM Bryan Colangelo spoke out recently about the end of Bosh’s tenure with Toronto.
Bosh took too long coming back from an injury.
“Despite limited swelling and any excessive damage on an MRI, he felt like he needed to sit for six more games … I’m not even questioning Chris’ injury. I’m telling you he was cleared to play subject to tolerance on his part, and the tolerance just apparently wasn’t there and he chose not to play.”
None of the crappy players Toronto brought it worked.
“No matter what type of player we brought in, it didn’t seem to have the right mix with him as that centrepiece.”
Its not a ridiculous rant in a ridiculous font, but its a start. Bosh was the Toronto Raptors and he left them. Luckily for Bosh, he’ll never be the villian that LeBron is. There are two main reasons for that.
LeBron left Cleveland, a tortured city. Bosh left Toronto, a Canadian city. The American sports media doesn’t care about that narrative. We can get behind the struggle of Cleveland. But Toronto? The Blue Jays just won a World Series 20 years ago. The entire nation should be set for life.
The other reason is that Bosh just doesn’t matter as much. James is the height of super-stardom. Bosh isn’t anywhere near the level of player or star that James is. There’s LeBron and Kobe and then everyone else. If Chris Bosh had gone to Europe, it would have received as much coverage as Josh Childress’ move a few years ago.
