Jeremiah Masoli: Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt appears to have landed former Oregon QB Jeremiah Masoli. According to ESPN’s Joe Schad, Masoli is expected to be admitted to one of the school’s graduate programs, and he’ll walk on to the football team. With the Rebels having lost QB Jevan Snead to the NFL, Masoli would be a welcome addition to a school that isn’t expected to contend in the SEC West. Of course, Masoli is a high-risk transfer: “Masoli pleaded guilty to second-degree burglary after he stole laptops from a fraternity house at Oregon in March. Chip Kelly, the Oregon coach, suspended him for the season. In June, Masoli was cited on a misdemeanor marijuana charge, and he was kicked off the team.” Not all Ole Miss fans are thrilled about his potential arrival. [Ledger]
