Jason Kidd is a Pretty Good Golfer
1-liner, Golf, NBA September 1st. 2010, 3:45pmJason Kidd Can Play Golf: A blogger challenged the Mavericks’ point guard to a round of golf at TPC Scottsdale. Kidd had the home course advantage – he plays there regularly with “former NBA players Eddie Johnson and Frank Johnson, and Brad Bayless, who’s son is Jerryd Bayless of the Portland Trailblazers.” Kidd trailed after the front nine, then rallied to victory. Tough to look at Jason Kidd without thinking of his wife’s “girl in every city” claims in the divorce papers. [Wei Under Par]

I played TPC Scottsdale in 115 degree heat because it is basically free to play during the summer. It’s a great course to play.

Wasn’t Eddie Johnson the guy they accidentally killed?
September 1st, 2010 at 3:55 PM
Frank Johnson! I know he’s spent a long time as a Blazers coach but he’s forever a Washington Bullet

Cardinals. There’s a Tony Romo WAG post coming later for the Cowboys.

TPC Scottsdale is real nice. I got out there a couple years ago. The Scottsdale area is brimming with good courses.

I wonder what Stephanie Wei had to do for that exclusive.

This made me laugh: Jason Kidd is an excellent human being

yawn…southwest golf can’t hold a candle to the great classic northeast/rust belt courses.
as always…old money > new money.
September 1st, 2010 at 4:03 PM
Oh, I totally agree. But I like getting out to the fancy-pants new resort courses in the southwest every once in a while, too.

as always…old money > new money.
Wrong. I don’t have shit so new money’s going to be my horse in that race for as long as I can ride

I’m going to Vegas in 2 weeks!
/this has been the most boring day of work in my entire adult life
September 1st, 2010 at 4:04 PM
You know the course is good when the growing season is only a few months long, and it’s still in fantastic shape.
September 1st, 2010 at 4:05 PM
I always feel the need to ask people this whenever Vegas comes up: where are you staying, sg?

Keep your dirty old money

Same here. It is the first question I ask if I hear someone is going.

My cousin and his wife live near the Palace Station (aka the hotel/casino where OJ was arrested). It’s more of a family trip than anything but it will still be fun. My cousins love to booze.

Sparty Justice ruins lives. From the Derrick Washington (permanently suspended RB from Missouri) article on ESPN right now: A campus detective’s probable cause statement filed Monday says Washington entered the woman’s closed bedroom while visiting her roommate and allegedly assaulted the woman while she slept.

where did my comment go?
September 1st, 2010 at 4:16 PM
I played Dove Valley Ranch. Not sure if that’s associated. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s not. But DVR was a nice course. Middle of no where though.
September 1st, 2010 at 4:17 PM
sparty – type it out again and see if it sticks around this time.
September 1st, 2010 at 4:18 PM
I have not played that course. The JW Marriott courses, Palmer and Faldo, are great. If you can, the The Phoenician has an absolutely amazing course.
September 1st, 2010 at 4:19 PM
Spencer is Dove Mountain the course down in Tucson? If thats it then no. Not sure if its open to the public.
September 1st, 2010 at 4:20 PM
I can second all that. I’ve also stayed at the Wigwam. They have a couple really nice courses too…
September 1st, 2010 at 4:23 PM
YYSA…yup. just looked it up and it’s a resort course so you prolly gotta stay at the ritz to play there.
