Video of a Fight in the US Open Stands
Fans, Fighting, Tennis, Video September 3rd. 2010, 7:25amThe first minute is jawing back and forth between the young guy in the t-shirt and the woman; at the 1:08 mark, the woman’s father (?) decides he’s had enough and goes after the guy. Both take a tumble. This certainly wasn’t the Nationals vs. the Marlins. The fight, which took place in the upper deck, caused enough of an uproar that the tennis match that was going on was briefly halted. [NYDN]

It’s tennis. How does this happen at a friggin tennis match?
September 3rd, 2010 at 7:51 AM
That guy has such the prototypical New Yorker arm movements…ughhh douche.
September 3rd, 2010 at 7:54 AM
I recommend watching on mute.

Long Island encapsulated.

September 3rd, 2010 at 8:05 AM
just hope montauk stays safe. place is awesome.

This actually reminded me of my honeymoon – our resort had a ton of NYers staying there, and everyday there’d be fights over the pool chairs that looked exactly like the video.

I’m just mindin my own business tryin to watch some friggin tennis.
/can’t wait for the video of a fight at NY ballet
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:09 AM
just checked the tracking of that storm. looks to be going well off to sea now.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:25 AM
“What are you guys doing?”
“Puttin’ on the foil, coach”
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:26 AM
that had to be significantly more entertaining than the tennis.

New York City – Tons of cool shit surrounded by a population that has the highest concentration of loud mouthed assholes I’ve ever seen. I’ve considered making a trip to NYC about 6 times this year and reconsidered every time because I don’t want to deal with the kind of bullshit you see in that video.

yeah… not sure it was ever a serious threat, even to the OBX.

had I been there, I would have been perilously close, and salivating.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:30 AM
I thought the US Open was in New York, not Jersey.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:31 AM
I like how the old guy just went for it. Like that kid was on his lawn
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:31 AM
@Garland – it’s not bad. i enjoy going up to NYC for a weekend. i can’t really speak for long island, but manhattan isn’t full of this type of shit – at least that i’ve seen.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:33 AM
This made me laugh out of sheer ridiculousness. I now know how ID a New Yorker by their gestures.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:33 AM
At least they didn’t tease this fight all the way until the closing credits.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:35 AM
Agreed. That guy is very much LI (or Staten Island).

I’m a litte jaded by a few bad experiences. I find if you stick to certain activities (museums, theatre, nice restaurants, etc…) there aren’t many problems. It’s almost impossible to attend a sporting event and I find a lot of bars are just gathering points for loud mouthed retards who want to provoke others into being as dumb as them.

I didn’t watch this yet. Any good?

This is for Huskerdawg.
@jsmooth995 Tonight’s trending topics are Stephen Hawking & “Jersey Shore”..one for saying God doesn’t exist, and the other for proving it

O/U the number of uses of the word bro that guy had? 20.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:40 AM
This dude is a runt, what a punk. He couldn’t stop with the hand movements and he kept talking, even after the other people walked away.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:43 AM
Dirt, they only show the first punch then cut to the “next time on.” But there’s a big-boobied blonde who gets pretty roundly humiliated by The Situation. I’m shocked she signed the release.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:45 AM
poor old man. that had to hurt
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:47 AM
Agreed, but at that age it’s got to feel great to actually have some adrenaline pumping through your system. I bet he feels great about it today (assuming he’s not being charged).
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:48 AM

at some point, you gotta know your limitations. When you’re that age, you can’t scrap in closed quarters with a kid. But yeah, he either hit his head real hard, or he whiplashed his head, or maybe both. It’s not like he’s a strapping, healthy 60 year old. He’s just an old man who waddled over there and ended up basically falling over. He probably went to the hospital.
September 3rd, 2010 at 8:53 AM
Unless you’re a BAD MOTHERFUCKER.
September 3rd, 2010 at 10:31 AM
Michael Chang has a youtube channel?
September 3rd, 2010 at 10:47 AM
I just love how the punk’s friend just quietly stands up and moves to a seat about 3 rows higher as soon as the douche and the old man go tumbling.
September 3rd, 2010 at 11:51 AM
This video starts earlier and shows the woman slapping the guy. Good stuff all around.

Is that Wilmer Valderrama doing the play-by-play?
September 3rd, 2010 at 2:02 PM
The guy probably bad mouthed Scheyer, and father, daughter, and the crowd all reacted appropriately.

Can we get this punks name? I would love to have this posted all over the web. Name, more pictures? Maybe an employer?

Is there an x-girlfriend that can lend some stories about this runt? Does he need to act this way to overcome other short comings?
