Jay Mariotti in the Clear? Report Claims Los Angeles County District Attorney Won’t Pursue Charges

According to the Beverley Hills Courier, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office decided on Tuesday it would not pursue a criminal case against Jay Mariotti. Last month, Mariotti was arrested on suspicion of domestic assault for an incident allegedly involving his girlfriend. The Courier also reported that the Mariotti case was referred to the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, which could then decide if it wanted to pursue charges. We called ESPN to see if this report would impact Mariotti’s job status on Around the Horn, but a spokesman was unaware of the report. [H/T: Jason Whitlock. Previously: LeBatard on Mariotti]
