October 7th, 2010 at 8:12 AM
It wasn’t the Top 100 Bank Robbery movies.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:12 AM
can anyone find video of the Granderson catch from the 9th inning? if the Yanks had lost, it would have ruined a great day for baseball.
I’m sure MLB has a team of people scrubbing it off youtube as soon as it goes up.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:12 AM

goof jorb, Barack.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:21 AM
It’s not a bad movie by any means, but WTF is Slumdog Millionaire doing at #41? In front of City of God? I fart in this list’s general direction.

LeBron’s got two MVPs … is this the year Dwight Howard gets one?
Olajuwon is the exact right guy. Less camera time, more practice Dwight. Work on that handle.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:33 AM
And if you’re only going to get Wilder one mention I’d go with The Apartment, or maybe Ace in the Hole for its prescience about the media.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:36 AM
The results are in from the 2010-2011 NBA GM survey … and they overwhelmingly think the Lakers will win the title
defending champs, best player in the league. makes sense
LeBron’s got two MVPs … is this the year Dwight Howard gets one?
scoring decreased last year, not by much but still. he needs to avg at least 20+ pts this year and dominate on the defensive end. DPOY again, lead the league in blocks and rbs. people act like that is easy to do. add the fact that he is pissed off this year too
October 7th, 2010 at 8:37 AM
no Rearview? that list sucks.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:37 AM
Might Larry Fitzgerald leave Arizona if the Cards don’t settle their QB issues?
not without looking like a diva asshole who won’t play under contract.

Derek Anderson is who we thought he was
October 7th, 2010 at 8:40 AM
Van Wilder is the real omission
October 7th, 2010 at 8:40 AM
My NFL betting has been awful this year, but betting against Ariz/Derek Anderson has been one of the few successful maxims.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:41 AM
Green Bay has lost middle linebacker Nick Barnett for the season.
that is not what this article actually says. It says if he has surgery, it’s likely season ending, but that he’s getting a second opinion on the need for surgery, and that he wants to play, and will play with the pain, and that if it’s not broken, it can therefore be taped.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:42 AM
@Ill – I have to polish of two SOWs today.
/prays he gets the right quotes on hours.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:43 AM
Less camera time, more practice Dwight
what’s this camera time? nothing wrong with having endorsements. do his commericials, songs, impersonations suck? yeah most do but he is a 24 year old kid. first summer in over 4 years he didnt do anything USA basketball related. took a break and caught shit for it. haters gonna hater, Dwight Howard gonna ball
October 7th, 2010 at 8:43 AM
Schefter said last night it’s very similar to Urlacher’s injury last year, which would make it pretty impossible to play with, unless it wants to risk not being able to use his hand.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:43 AM
I am going to finish my coffee. REARWINDOW!
I could not figure out what Rear View was. As for Rear Window, they should really remake that, and if possible, use Shia Lebouf in the Jimmy Stewart role. I’m sure that would be a good movie.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:44 AM
So wait, the administration does not support Arizona’s efforts to deal with illegal immigration, but here touts their deportation figures using a “Secure Communities” program with similar/legal methods?
And as for a response about the stats, more open borders means more criminals coming across, means more crime by illegals in America, means more deportation. /s/ spun
October 7th, 2010 at 8:44 AM
Agreed that Peyton Manning is great.

October 7th, 2010 at 8:46 AM
Yeah it would have.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:46 AM
I can’t believe I watched that movie.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
I believe it falls under the category of journalism movie. It’s right above The Killing Fields, but just below All The President’s Men.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:47 AM
fuck dwight howard and the fagic.
i don’t care if im NBA neutral, that franchise is gayer than a bag of dicks.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:48 AM
Hopefully this means he will learn how to hit a 10-footer.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:48 AM
what’s this camera time? nothing wrong with having endorsements. do his commericials, songs, impersonations suck?
I mean at the beginning of this video. I was typing that comment as this video was going on and on with his TMNT impression. Don’t worry about making sure people see you practice with Olajuwon, just practice with Olajuwon.
I want him to get better, because somebody has to beat the goddamned Heat.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:49 AM
Still having issues signing in with Firefox, what say you TBL??

glad you asked…ditch firefox and get chrome. chrome is way better.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:50 AM

October 7th, 2010 at 8:50 AM
Schefter said last night it’s very similar to Urlacher’s injury last year, which would make it pretty impossible to play with,
that’s on him. I’m sure he’ll get a speech from his position coach about team and now, and one from the GM saying the same.
They’re lucky they have a backup middle linebacker that can play, even if it’s not very well.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:50 AM
I only agree because it wouldve taken the attention away from Halladay today and all anyone would talk about would be replay and the poor, poor Yankees

October 7th, 2010 at 8:51 AM
Hopefully this means he will learn how to hit a 10-footer.
SVG still wants him closer to the basket because he has a 99% physical advantage over the rest of the NBA. but yeah, if he starts hitting that jumper its ovah
October 7th, 2010 at 8:52 AM
irish…the cavs have absolutely no bearing on the shitty magic.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:53 AM
Exactly. If he could hit a 10-footer with consistency, he’d be the most dominant player in the game. No one could guard him, and his 3-pt shooters would have open looks all night.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:53 AM
SVG still wants him closer to the basket because he has a 99% physical advantage over the rest of the NBA. but yeah, if he starts hitting that jumper its ovah
I want him to turn the ball over less. Guys that shoot 61% should not be turning the ball over more than almost everybody in the league. They should be putting the ball away.
The 10 footer isn’t as important as being able to bounce it once in traffic without losing it.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:54 AM
“wooooooooooooooooosaaaaaah” worked wonders for me Sunday and Monday. I’m of full belief we’re beating Gerogia now.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:55 AM

have you seen Derek Dooley?
October 7th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
irish…the cavs have absolutely no bearing on the shitty magic.
you have been leaving that stupid comment about the Magic on here for years. now that you are NBA neutral, shocker, what are you going to jump on whatever bandwagon you want later in the season?
October 7th, 2010 at 8:56 AM
do I need to link the season results so far or can I just call you an asshole?
October 7th, 2010 at 8:57 AM
I continue to be amazed at how many people rail to realize that the majority of people who view this site do so from work, where they likely have no control over which browser they use.
I tried downloading Firefox at work, and got written up. I use Chrome at home, and it’s awesome, but from 9-5+ it’s IE or nothing.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:57 AM
Well, seeing as how UGA is comprised of a bunch of fucking retards, that shouldn’t be all that difficult. I still have no clue as to why the line is so big. It opened at -12 for UGA. That makes zero sense to me.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:57 AM
irish – spencer followed Lebron to the Heat.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:57 AM
That’s not bad.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:58 AM
irish…i’ll probably jump on the OKC bandwagon and i’ve been making that comment about the magic for years because i genuinely cannot stand a single thing about that franchise at all.
but hey, if it makes you feel better, you and trey can attend the pre-amway opening gay pride parade together!

took UGA -12.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:02 AM
Same here. I saw the line and about fell out of my chair. I would think by game time it would be closer to 6, but the line being at 12 simply makes no sense. Richt was told about it and he was legitimately shocked.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:02 AM

October 7th, 2010 at 9:02 AM

October 7th, 2010 at 9:03 AM
Joke’s on everybody else. In 2015, the Pats will have every pick in the NFL draft.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:03 AM
I wish I knew you when Alabama was sucking cock three years ago. Now all I can do is be in awe of Saban. Mother fucker.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:03 AM
He doesn’t need to develop a 10 footer to be dominant. Shaq never developed a 10 footer and he was arguably the most dominant player in the history of the game when he was on. As Dirt said, he needs to be able to get to the rack conistantly without turning over the ball, but he also has to be a better passer out of the double and be able to reset and get the ball back in better position.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:04 AM

Katy Perry…wow.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:06 AM
Saban is a very good coach don’t get me wrong, but doesn’t the upgrade in their facilities and stockpiling of talent speak more to Bama’s recent run of dominance? It’s not like the guy is infallible. Arkansas had them on the ropes until Mallet threw costly picks and let’s not forget the Sugar Bowl a few years ago AND the fact he bumblefucked the first quarter of the title game last year and then Colt’s shoulder went dead.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:07 AM

Sparty, please report to the Hakeem Nicks thread from yesterday. The comments section won’t be complete until more Giants weigh in
you had plenty of non-giants fans tell you that you were wrong.
it wasn’t very good. I think Britt has been benched more than once for Tennessee. And Percy Harvin is not exactly a #1 wideout, since he’s more of a slotback/slot receiver hybrid. And I don’t even know who Massaquoi is.
Plus, Nicks is pretty good. Not as good as that guy in the article said, but you can disagree without taking the giant crap you took on Nicks.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:08 AM

October 7th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
He’s not taking the crap on Nicks, he’s still pissed about Joyner saying that Revis was replaceable. Coincidentally, the Jets’ defense has been much better this season without Revis in the lineup than with. I know, I know…small sample size.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
No. It has very little to do with facilities and everything to do with Saban and his staff. The talent you speak of was brought in by Saban and his staff. You put Saban at UGA, Tenn, Ohio St, Mich, UCLA, etc… he will win big. He’s won everywhere he’s been in college.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:09 AM
yes…he really is.
you realize that florida has been recruiting on a pace that matches what USC did during their 5 year run of dominance, right? and even then bama absolutely has their number.
saban’s the king until he loses. he’s the pope. an evil pope.

October 7th, 2010 at 9:10 AM
he’s on pace to put up some pretty sweet numbers. gilbride needs to wake up and take more downfield shots with him. he is the deep threat. but i agree that he isn’t as great as the article made him out to be, but has the tools to be that guy.

my other teams are the redskins, orioles, liverpool, wizards, MD hoops, and capitals. that should be more than enough ammo for you.
@cleet – so Bama should be deducted cool points for picking off Mallet twice late and demolishing that soft texan’s shoulder in a title game? got it.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:13 AM
I agree that he deserves credit for bringing it in.

For lunch I would got to Last Resort if it’s open (they are sometimes not open for Gameday lunches). If you like a good hamburger, Clocked is pretty good. For cheap beer ($5 pitchers) you should hit up Little Italy. Also, Transmetropolitan has some excellent food. One of the best Caesar salads I’ve ever had and they have this amazing roasted garlic and potato soup. I would go to Transmet or Last Resort and then pound pitchers at Little Italy.

Miz: I’m also curious to hear about the atmosphere. I have to think it’ll be pretty tame and boring. Both teams are terrible and UGA fans are flat out pissed off right now. At least Tenn knew they were in for a rough year. Most UGA fans thought 8-4 would be the very worst the Dawgs would do. But hey, at least I have my Huskers on national TV tonight. So I’ve got that going for me.

I’m happy for this. Ewing is fired, then? Believe me, my only problem with that guy ever was that he could be the greatest, but was concentrating on being famous instead of getting better.
This is specifically what he needed. More Olajuwon, less Ewing.

there’s not room on our bookshelves for sports books, so they have to live under the bed. Outside of a couple of poorly made statements, it’s OK.

no Chewing still next to Stan the Man
October 7th, 2010 at 9:30 AM
Agree. There seems to be less X’s and O’s with each successive chapter. The single wing chapter had plenty of talk about blocking schemes, but when you get to the zone blitz chapter, all they talk about is Dick Lebeau’s playing career, and how good Cincinnati was for a few years. Then they rehash recent Steeler history, which doesn’t need rehashing.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:31 AM
Is there something wrong with having a personality? I’ve never seen it affect the way he plays. Getting tutelage from Ewing and Olajuwon can only help him.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:31 AM

October 7th, 2010 at 9:31 AM
I didn’t realize that the addition of a WAY-past-his-prime Modano and getting Hudler back means the Wings are good enough to win the cup. Maybe they got an automatic boost up the rankings when they dumped Lebda?

October 7th, 2010 at 9:34 AM
Is there something wrong with having a personality? I’ve never seen it affect the way he plays. Getting tutelage from Ewing and Olajuwon can only help him.
No, Darrell, I like the guy. He used to get knocked for not getting better on offense, during his first couple of seasons, and then he got clowned by Perkins in the playoffs, and then he really started working, and you could tell. He was significantly better, but the team had your boy VC on it, so they were doomed.
I can’t see where Ewing’s tutelage can help him anymore. Nobody wants to learn the 12 foot fadeaway jumper. He needs to learn to create space in tight for 5 footers, and not worry about anything deeper than that. And obviously free throws.
But I have no problem with him having fun, but I’d like to see a mean streak on the court.

I’ve added him to my list of idiots that are slamming the Kessel deal about 4-5 years early. It may turn out to be a terrible deal, especially if the Leafs finish in the bottom five again, but it’s impossible to make that determination before Seguin and Player X have ever played an NHL game.

If the lottery pick next year is in the top 5 (as you alluded to) then it was a terrible trade for the Leafs, if the pick is in the 10-15 range it isn’t as bad, but still not great.

Understand that Olajuwon’s game was also built on fadeaways and jumpshots. So, if you’re looking for someone to create space in tight for 5 footers, Dream is probably the wrong candidate. Actually, Ewing would be the better one. What Dream does is get Howard to use his athleticism-forward skills more. He gets him to be more fluid in his moves, something Ewing never had.

I didn’t realize that the addition of a WAY-past-his-prime Modano and getting Hudler back means the Wings are good enough to win the cup.
I don’t think the Wings win the division or advance past round , but their preseason ranking probably has more to do with a healthy Franzen than Modano or Hudler.

Understand that Olajuwon’s game was also built on fadeaways and jumpshots. So, if you’re looking for someone to create space in tight for 5 footers, Dream is probably the wrong candidate.
I’m quite familiar Darrell. Both of those guys, Ewing and Olajuwon, were perfectly comfortable taking the ball 18 feet from the basket. Howard is not, nor should he be. He needs to worry about how to take which steps to get an easy open look at the hoop.
Ewing is not going to be able to teach that guy footwork visually, because Ewing never had quick feet on offense. But I’m aware of how good Olajuwon was and where he was money.

My point is that it’s impossible to objectively evaluate the deal right now. I’m sure it will end up being a disaster since the Leafs are involved but lets just let the scenario play out first.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:47 AM

I agree with your premise that it can’t be judged for another couple years. But, Seguin being an Stefan is a big IF (specifically if you look at the success rates of the top 2 picks in recent years).
What if Kessel scores 40 goals in each of the next 3 years and the Leafs still miss the playoffs? I would rather have had the #2 pick (+ the second rounder) and another top 10 pick to build my franchise.

October 7th, 2010 at 9:51 AM
lol, well i wanted to show you the proof that Howard wasnt “clowned” like you said. back to the drawing board Dr Dirt
you get hung up on certain words. He was made to look foolish in that he couldn’t beat a slow footed physical player that he was obviously 10 times more athletic than. And when he was forced to bounce the basketball, all he could do was run after it where he lost it. You saw the games too, and if the comments still existed, I could find where you were very frustrated with the guy. He should be leaving Perkins standing like a statue, every time.
So if he wasn’t clowned by Perkins, he was clowned by his own lack of practice. But again, like I said, I am rooting for the guy, and I’m glad he’s decided to go past Ewing and get more appropriate guidance. The NBA needs him now more than ever. Fuck the Heat.

St Louis’s health won’t be an issue, very durable for a little guy. Only missed 2 games in the last 7 years. Lecavalier hasn’t missed many games either he just needs to start playing like a guy that is 6′ 4″.

Well, they made the correct decision with Kadri. I may not be the biggest Burke fan, but I like the way he handles younger players.
It may just be that he wants to keep Kadri away from Wilson (until Wilson is canned mid-season).

October 7th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
jesus fucking christ, the one time i try to be cordial isntead of antagonistic and the hockey contingent gets all up on my shit…
October 7th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
I don’t follow college hockey. Just the NHL.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:06 AM
Fetch just rolled out of bed with a massive erection.
If he waves it in a reporter’s face he will get his own post.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
He has seriously shat on the Reds almost every day for two months.
Not a team or player in the world was going to hit Halladay last night. That was absolutely the best movement I’ve ever seen.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
I don’t know man. it’s kinda lonely. Rudy Gay keeps giving Marc Gasol hundy’s to keep showing me his teeth.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:07 AM
I’m sure you’d jump on board if Cleveland got an NHL team to replace the NBA team they lost.
lmao GG, haha spencer

In the interest of peace, I hereby extend to you one gold plated invitation to the Oilers bandwagon. Best to get on on the ground floor.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:09 AM
that was funny?
i guess canadian humor escapes me, which is weird cuz i loved kids in the hall and trailer park boys.

Perkins has done work against Gasol, and Pao has all of the footwork attributes you’re looking for in Howard. Perkins just d’s up like that. Ewing has done a very good job with Howard. Any additional improvement Dream can make will make Howard that much better.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:10 AM
My comment was a bit of a cheap shot. I take it back. Go Buckeyes!
/High five?
October 7th, 2010 at 10:11 AM
IF i ever followed hockey (big if) id root for the oil. that scene from the playoffs a few years ago when the whole arena was singing the canadian national anthem gave me goosebumps.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
It was. But it was also quite funny. We’ll just pretend we didn’t see the crosscheck and give Spencer a make up call later in the day.
There’s no room for this nonsense though. That’s 2 minutes for crapping in a cooler.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:12 AM
@Dirt- last year w/ VC, and if the start out losing a lot of games, wouldnt be surprised to see him moved by Feb trade deadline
I’m down with that
Perkins has done work against Gasol, and Pao has all of the footwork attributes you’re looking for in Howard.
this is a “can be” discussion today, Darrell. Pau doesn’t have the muscles. Dwight “can be” so dominant that Perkins can do nothing to stop him.
I disagree about Ewing, but it doesn’t matter. Dwight can be as good as he wants to be. We just have to see how good he wants to be. And he’s already top 5 in the league.

One of the most best moments in all my years as a fan, the building was unbelievable. That whole run to the cup was magical (and ultimately set the franchise back 3 years).
October 7th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
nonsense? please…that’s common sense.
nonsense is rooting for a team that stole their unis from the fucking steelers and lost to the 4th best team in the pac-10.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:13 AM
no need to whisper, no one in Memphis gives a shit.
TPB is fucking great TV.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:14 AM
The Jackets have 8 years to find a center for Rick Nash. They’ll do it. When that guy was paired with Crosby on the Canadian team, I was floored at how good he is when paired with another exceptional player. I mean, I knew Nash was good, he kills the Hawks. I just didn’t realize he was THAT good.

October 7th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
So, you hate America?
October 7th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
i hadn’t seen that in awhile…god damn is that awesome.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:17 AM
Is that you talking Mr. Lahey or the liquor?
Randy *Takes slug* I am the liquor

He was ok with Sid. Once he got moved on a line with Toews and Richards they may have been the best line on the Canadian team. For a guy his size he has disgusting hands, they really need Ryan Johansen to pan out, and fast.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
How was the new TPB movie(countdown to liquor day)? Haven’t seen it yet.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
Which is sad. I believe in them again this year.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:19 AM
Couldn’t be happier about the hockey uprising here. Change some shit up.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:20 AM
whoa there, CJ. if i hated america, why would i have this can of cope in my back pocket and a faded ticket stub for a monster truck rally in my wallet?

You are going to fit in with Oiler fans perfectly.

I thought it was pretty decent but don’t really remember much about it…was celebrating my own liquor day while watching it
October 7th, 2010 at 10:26 AM
