Twelve Iowa football players have been hospitalized with exertional rhabdomyolysis, a condition where muscle breakdown releases a protein pigment “myoglobin” into the blood stream. Myoglobin can form compounds that can cause serious kidney damage. The players are “in safe and stable condition” and “responding well to treatment.” Iowa players had been undergoing insane workouts this week. One player said “I’ve never seen so much puke.”

Offense was good Miz. Defense was bad.
