Eminem’s Chrysler Super Bowl commercial was an inspiring rally cry for both America and Detroit. Well, most of Detroit. Slim Shady’s message did not resonate with the Pistons. They’re currently fussin’ and fuedin’ with head coach John Kuester. Friday saw a part of the team boycott Kuester by skipping shoot-around and then players laughed as he was ejected from their game against the 76ers.

Before All-Star weekend, some veterans tried to create a team-wide boycott of a shootaround in protest of Kuester. They held off in hopes that Kuester would be fired over the break or there would be some trades. Neither happened so they tried again Friday.

Seven players missed all, or part, of the shootaround before their game against the 76ers. Kuester was not pleased and went with a 6-man rotation while Austin Daye, Tracy McGrady, Ben Wallace, Chris Wilcox and Rodney Stuckey sat in uniform on the bench. When Kuester freaked out in the second quarter and got tossed, the players who didn’t have basketball to distract them, were shown laughing. This is not what Eminem meant when he was talking about “what we do in the Motor City.” Though, I suppose you could consider most of the actions in Detroit “brisk.”

They’ll get eventually.
