Fight Erupts in Cubs Dugout [UPDATE]
Baseball, Fighting, Video March 2nd. 2011, 5:00pm
The 2011 Chicago Cubs have already experienced a fight within their own dugout. The emotional brawl occurred following the first inning that saw Carlos Silva, backed by some tremendously flawed defense, allow six runs:
Silva watched the Cubs commtt three errors, and served up two home runs in the six-run first. Silva was out of the inning with a double play grounder, trailing 4-0, but a catchers interference call on Koyie Hill prolonged it, and have gave up two more runs. Silva was angry coming into the dugout, and apparently some words were exchanged with someone else in the dugout. Players scrambled to break it up, and Silva was removed from the game the next inning.
Such a volatile, uneasy (read: hilarious) situation calls for none other than the screaming cat.
UPDATE: Silva and Aramis Ramirez were the brawlers. According to Paul Sullivan, Silva “left the building on cart without comment.” In case you don’t believe Sullivan, check out this action shot of Silva speeding away from reporters at what many believe to be as fast as 3 mph:
Perhaps the Cubs should quit devouring so much Charlie Sheen and start taking in something with more substance, something that screams team unity… like The Get Along Gang.

This just after reading a few Cub fans saying 90-100 wins this season. How I love Cubs meltdowns so, so much.
Just wish Zambrano was there today to join in.

Who the fuck said 90-100 wins for that team?
March 2nd, 2011 at 5:12 PM
WSullivan Paul Sullivan
Silva and Aramis were the Cubs scufflers. Ramirez calls it “misunderstanding,” says he’s never been a “troublemaker.”

A few people from another site I frequent. Fans that say “This is the year” every year and are overly optimistic.

A couple things: A) Sullivan is the worst and most careless beat writer in baseball
B) Anyone that says this team will finish above .500 is one of those dbag cubs fans that everyone hates, including me. I, like most, got so sick of these guys that I moved out of Wrigleyville.
C) Cubs players fight in the dug out every year, and every year they fail to win it. One day, after the current wank ownership is forced to sell because people have stopped showing up to see a crap product due to years and years of mismanagement from the worst front office in baseball behind the Pirates and the Royals (arguably). Maybe someone with a brain (and not daddy’s checkbook) will buy the team and hire people that actually understand baseball outside of “my ample gut just thinks that $135 million over 8 years to a guy who is likely older than he says and relies on young traits such as speed to be successful just feels right” or “wait, I like this guy Milton. You say his best offer is 1 year at $7million? Let’s give him 3 for $30m” to run the team.
*Disclaimer, I liked the Bradley signing, will admit his 1 season was not good, but also believe he was promoted in all the wrong ways by media/Cubs saying he’s a LH power hitter. His career only shows one consistent strength which is OBP and he actually gave that to the Cubs in 2009.
Ok done with this rant that no one will read.
